Tobogganing, anyone? Weldon Springs State Park is a place for all seasons, though we have to say winter time here sounds pretty sweet. Sled or toboggan down a hill, fish in the freeze, or cross-country ski across the icicle-laced countryside. Once it warms up, all the classic trappings of a park are found in abundance. Hike one of the several trails while you keep an eye out for hawks and warblers, or angle for some bullhead fish from the comfort of your boat. When hunger strikes, treat yourself to a po'boy or panini at Pinky's Restaurant. If you come the right time of year, you may just be lucky enough to catch the Apple and Pork Festival at the nearby C.H. Moore Homestead. Scrumptious!

We have 3 older horses who call our farm home, and currently they are our only livestock. They are too old to be ridden, but are fun to hang out with.

Welcome to Gibson City, a unique and vibrant community in Ford County, Illinois, known for its rich agricultural heritage and friendly atmosphere. With a population of approximately 3,407 as recorded in the 2010 census, Gibson City is affectionately nicknamed “The Big Little City.” Strategically located at the crossroads of IL Routes 9, 47, and 54, this city serves as a hub for the surrounding agricultural industry. The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (GCMS) School District reflects the community spirit, uniting the towns of Gibson City, Melvin, and Sibley to provide quality education for local children. Gibson City has a fascinating history that dates back to 1869 when Jonathan B. Lott purchased and platted the area. By 1870, he established a home and a post office, paving the way for several stores and a grain elevator. The name "Gibson" honors Lott's wife, Margaret Gibson Lott, and the addition of "City" came later through the post office department. The arrival of the Gilman, Clinton and Springfield Railroad and the Chicago and Paducah Railroad in 1871 spurred growth, leading to the village's incorporation in 1872.

Our little homestead farm sits out on the Illinois Prairie, in the middle of corn and soybean fields. We are a short drive from Illinois' largest Amish community in the Arcola/Arthur area. We are also just a short drive from Walnut Point State Park, which has fishing and allows small watercraft like canoes and kayaks. Lake Charleston is not far from us and allows small fishing boats, fishing, and there are great hiking and bike trails around the lake. Our farm makes a great base camp for those wishing to explores what East Central Illinois has to offer. We are also a great spot if you are simply looking for a quiet getaway from the noise and lights of the city. We have beautiful sunrises and sunsets, with very little to block your view, and on clear nights the stars are incredibly bright.
