Site was great! Lots of room and farm animals to watch and interact with if they are grazing. Mandy was an awesome host, we stayed for 4th of July and she showed us a great spot to watch fireworks from with our family. Would love to stay again for longer! Super close to amenities if you like, but feels like nothing is around for miles.

Super close to downtown St. Louis. This place was a great basecamp for exploring the city and had the added benefit of cool farm animals, which my daughters loved!

This was to be my first hip camp stay but when I arrived an aggressive dog was growling and acting like they were going to attack my 12 year old husky. A teenager informed me that the dog was ok with people but not always other dogs. I got my dog in the car and we left. On the way out a woman said she put the dog up but I just didn’t trust it at that point. I was gonna be there for 14 ish hours and if the dog got out, I was too worried it would attack my dog. my dog is old. There were also two other very large 100+ pound dogs in a pen, right where I parked. They did not stop barking and growling the entire time I did not feel safe here for my dog or for myself for that matter I had previously told the woman exactly what time I was showing up and then I had a 12 year-old dog. She refused to give me a refund even though I did not stay at all. When I asked for a reservation and she said no, I said I would take it up with hip camp because her dog was aggressive and that’s why I could not stay there and she called me a Karen.

I put "maybe" on my review mainly because our visit was so short. The property was peaceful and easy to get to from the interstate. We had booked site 4, but there are no site numbers present. The lady who greeted us was nice, but she didn't know which site was number 4. That really wasn't a huge deal since we were the only ones there. We arrived around 7:30 PM, made a quick dinner and coffee for the thermos, then to sleep. Left at 4AM to avoid the storms coming into the area. So beyond a walk to the Porta Potty, (did see their emu and peacock) we didn't really get the full picture.

This spot was so spacious and beautiful and homey. Lots of animals on the property but we weren’t ever bothered. We planned to stay for two nights, but got rained out the next day and were given a partial reimbursement. Overall everyone was very nice and accommodating and I would go back for the views and the animals :)

It was a cute working farm on the outskirts of St. Louis! We were only passing through on this visit but can’t wait to come back through on a future trip and spend some time exploring the region and the Chain of Rocks Bridge! The animals were a treat to see!
The only negative, if any, was the lack of graveled / dry parking area. It had recently rained and we had to park off of the gravel road because of standing water.

Very relaxing stay near Alton and St Louis. Very peaceful with lots of animals to see. Set up van under a willow tree the side of the property and had lots of privacy. I would stay again. Everyone friendly, including the animals.

Cute little farm, unfortunately adjacent a walmart supercenter so not very private. Very friendly and tolerant farm animals. Didn’t try the portapotty, but the hand washing sink did not have water or actual soap. This site only has well water so be prepared to filter and boil anything for drinking or cooking. Would stay here again if I needed something close to St. Louis and wanted to see farm animals.

Overall had a great experience. The animals are adorable, sunset was beautiful, lots of chairs and such you can use. However, there’s some big facility across from the campsite that has lights that are insanely bright all night. Plus, it’s really to the loud train station. We couldn’t sleep.

Authentic property tucked away in the St. Louis area. We really enjoyed seeing the farm animals and livestock in the area. Unfortunately, the common area fire pits & outdoor cooking pit were not made apparent to campers. Be prepared for many folks accessing the property at any time of the night (farmhands, volunteers, etc). The property is directly behind a Walmart so you will be able to see bright lights and hear trucks unpacking throughout your stay. We ended up leaving less than 4 hours into our stay due to a family of skunks surrounding our campsite and accessing the neighboring fields.

This was a very accommodating site. It was very quiet at night which was nice. The sounds of the animals in the morning was also enjoyable.

This location worked perfectly for staying the night and visiting the Arch in the morning. No parking downtown for a camper. We arrived before 9pm with our 28’ fifth wheel. There is a small hill to enter the farm. We parked by the last horse corral. Enjoyed visiting with the horses and hearing the peacock in the distance. Communication was great and quick. Walmart is very close by. The Chain of Rocks bridge (Route 66) is just down the street. Just a nice unique place to stay.

My 8 year old daughter and I had an amazing stay at Happy Trails Farm Resort! The host was incredibly nice and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The space was filled with awesome farm animals, and we especially loved seeing the peacocks—they were such a treat!
Campsite 5 was fantastic, with a lovely swingset, tree swing, and nice picnic tables where we could eat our meals. It was the perfect spot for both relaxation and fun.
Just a note for future visitors: currently, there isn't a shower available, but the hosts plan on adding this amenity soon.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and can't wait to come back. Highly recommend this spot for a memorable camping experience!

Such a CUTE farm! Very welcoming - there were goats roaming around and a peacock! Bought some fresh eggs that i cooked for breakfast the next day. Very relaxing, quaint place to stay - easy access to highway!

Staying on Mandy’s property was lovely! She met us soon after our arrival and kindly directed us to the animals and facilities. The land is beautifully remote considering it’s convenient location near the city.

Sweet farm. Friendly people. Lots of animals to talk to and willow trees lining the camping area were poetic. Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Deer came through early. Very close to downtown attractions.

Nice farm with multiple horses on property. Mandy was very communicative and accommodating. There was some minimal noise from the nearby roadway, but nothing that interrupted a peaceful night’s sleep.

Lovely little farm with cute animals. The hosts greeted us upon arrival and showed us to our site. We had a comfortable and pleasant night. Site 3 is close to the birds, so it helped to have ear plugs for roosters crowing in the morning. We’d stay again!

This is a peaceful and fun farm. Lots of animals. Close to St Louis but feels like you’re in the country. Mandy was helpful and brought eggs to our RV to be sure we got them before we left. Would recommend!
