During the day, paddle your way to the beautiful Three Sisters Springs for a swim. You may see some manatee, turtles, and dolphins along your way! We also highly recommend for the sportsman in you, the newly opened Mallards Guns. Located only one mile down the road!. This was a really private boondock property near homosassa. Bryan was very helpful advising us on where to camp. The noise from people drag racing on the nearby highway on a Saturday night was tough for my sister to sleep through in her tent. So if you’re noise sensitive be prepared with great earplugs. So many tall trees, lots of birds, and peaceful views.

Weekend Trip to Primitive Island on Withlacoochee

I absolutely loved this campsite, and I wish there were more sites right on the river just like this one. For starters, it is a very easy, scenic float down from the Spruce boat ramp. I traveled by kayak and loved that it had its own little cove next to the site that made for perfect boat parking. Just as described, it had a nice fire pit, a charcoal grill, a picnic table and 4 benches. There was also a cable for a dog run, and about 3-4 solar-powered motion lights installed around the perimeter of the campsite. It is located near an elbow in the river with gives the view a nice panoramic feel. It is high enough off the water and has enough cypress knobs around it that I wasn’t concerned about alligators coming up near the camp. And, it was covered with a nice, mature tree canopy providing shade over the entire area. I had plans to roll out early the next day, but it was such a nice and peaceful spot, I ended up just hanging out there most to the next day.

If you like the feel of being on a farm and tucked away amongst the scrub pine forest, lightning bugs that come out at night and dance in the brush, this is for you. I chose this spot to be close to rainbow river, and it was awesome to have a spot close by yet away from hustle of town. The toilet is a bit rustic, but if you are a true camper, that shouldn't be a problem. I like all the options Arcadio had and he was very responsive the whole time. Kuddos

Exactly as described! Quiet and peaceful. Mini frig included which is very helpful not having to drag cooler(s) and ice back and forth!!! Bed is comfortable, fell asleep quickly, Did some research online before arriving to find places I wanted to for sure visit. Found some great restaurants in the area. There is a Publix nearby for restocking as needed as well as an outside ATM machine. My Australian Shepherd loved every minute of the trip! He was right at home in the cabin and loved all the new places to hike and explore!!

Great place to stay! Highly recommend this spot. As 2 females traveling alone we felt really safe the entire time. The bathrooms were very clean and the shower was hot- it was also so nice to have 2 restrooms so we could each shower at the same time! The camp area was very green and pretty and the stars at night were very nice. My car navigated the roads to get out to the spot without any issues. Don also had great recommendations for the area and was a fabulous host! We brought our own lights and fire pit and had a great time camping there and will be back.

I loved camping at Sandy stars! There was a tent nearby, but I couldn’t hear them. The directions were really clear. The hosts were amazing and super helpful. We rented a kayak from them. You’re far enough back where you have your space and feel safe but yet still secluded. I highly recommend this site! I highly recommend all sites at this location!

3 nights at Happy Campers Rescue Ranch

Both Arcadio and his wife were a pleasure to get to know. They made my husband and I feel like we were longtime friends that they invited to their home. No water but we felt like we had an authentic camping experience. Besides, we were jumping in the spring head every day and floating on a tube down the river. Clean enough for camping in my opinion. Great location for boondockers It was extremely convenient as Arcadio offers for purchase firewood, and farm fresh eggs from the chickens on his farm. He also offers for rent his movie projector and you can pick any movie streaming. It was a very fun experience to watch a movie outside. They have cute pigs and goats. The best is they’re only minutes from Rainbow Springs and KP Hole and he had availability! Something the state park rarely has on a last-minute notice. We only booked two weeks ahead. We will be back.

Weekend Trip to Homosassa River Escape

This location was absolutely perfect and the best camping I've experienced in years. The space under the house had so many fun activities, chairs and tables and basic supplies, the bathroom was clean and fantastic and the outdoor shower had better water pressure than my house. Being able to direct launch our Kayaks from next to the ramp meant we could get on the water quickly and led to more trips than it would have and the Homosassa area had fantastic fishing and kayaking. Tyler was a very responsive host and had laid everything out so well ahead of time that the process was seamless. Can't recommend this place enough.

3 nights at Private Getaway in the Woods

This site was conveniently located to explore so many Crystal River attractions. Lee and her husband were super accommodating, and the communication was great. Their beautiful dog is spectacularly well behaved. The dirt road approach is a bit bumpy for a travel trailer, so take it slow. We did visit during no-see-um season, so we didn't spend a lot of time outside our rig while onsite.

Super easy check in. Great stay. Wonderful campsite and rescue animals. Arcadio and his wife were able to give us farm fresh eggs as well, which were wonderful. 10/10 would recommend.
