Nestled within a fully wooded forest, this peaceful property offers a true nature escape just 15 minutes from downtown Crystal River. Guests have access to a clean, two-bathroom bathhouse with hot water, as well as a convenient on-site RV dump station. It’s a quiet retreat in the woods — perfect for unplugging, recharging, and reconnecting with nature. When you’re ready to explore, a short drive into town opens up plenty of restaurants and activities. Swim with manatees in Kings Bay, or spend your days scuba diving, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and biking — there’s no shortage of adventure nearby.

Tent Campsite #1 is a small flat area surrounded by bushes and a few tall pine trees. There is plenty of room for 2 smaller tents or 1 medium sized tent. Two larger pine trees also offer the opportunity for a hammock tent. This area will accommodate 4 people maximum. There are no hookups at this site, but the bathhouse is just a short walk away with hot water and electricity to charge a cell phone. There is room at this site to park 1 vehicle.

I found Donald’s land enjoyable to be in. Plenty of potable water and an excellent bathroom and shower, with plentiful warm water. Donald was an excellent host. He was friendly and always concerned for my enjoyment of the camp. I would stay there again when in the area.

I enjoyed staying at RV site 2 as well as Tent site 1. It’s quite peaceful there in those woods, though one can hear cars/trucks on a nearby gravel road once in a while. (Not terrible by any stretch ) I would prefer a little more distance between camp sites, but that’s just me. The amenities are quite amazing. Good clean potable water at the ready, bathrooms with shower and ample hot water. Such a comfortable setup. The property owner, Don, is a welcoming, friendly, and respectful man. He clearly looks after this property with care and pride. He is easy to chat with whether in person or on the HipCamp app. The close proximity to downtown Crystal River quite certainly adds to the ease of staying at Seahorse Ranch, though one would have no idea that downtown Crystal River is so nearby. Overall, I very much enjoyed my time at Seahorse Ranch, and highly recommend spending some time there. - Glen R

Great place to stay! Highly recommend this spot. As 2 females traveling alone we felt really safe the entire time. The bathrooms were very clean and the shower was hot- it was also so nice to have 2 restrooms so we could each shower at the same time! The camp area was very green and pretty and the stars at night were very nice. My car navigated the roads to get out to the spot without any issues. Don also had great recommendations for the area and was a fabulous host! We brought our own lights and fire pit and had a great time camping there and will be back.

We loved our stay! The host was helpful and accommodating. The site was very private and quiet. We didn’t even close our blinds but just enjoyed the natural forest! There were no city lights around and the stars were amazing! The bathroom and showers were clean and convenient. Crystal River with the manatees was mere minutes away. We will stay here again.
