Hideout Mountain Lodge is a beautiful escape to nature sprawled out over about 40 acres on a breathtaking spot that we call Hideout Mountain in Santa Ysabel, CA. Multiple experiences are offered: -- glamping in our vintage camper trailers, -- RV sites with full hookups and incredible views of Lake Henshaw -- campsites, -- luxury camping in our remodeled cabins (studio, 1br, and 2br cabins) each with different amenities ranging from full kitchens, wood burning fireplaces, large outdoor decks and private fire pits. Gather and share ideas with fellow guests at our community firepit and picnic tables. What makes Hideout Mountain a magical place? #1 on the list are the stunning views as far as the eye can see of Lake Henshaw and the valley and surrounding mountains. We also have a one-of-a-kind, world renowned restaurant and bar on the property: Josie's Hideout Saloon, open on weekends with live music. We are located just a few minutes drive away from downtown Santa Ysabel and Julian, with easy access off Hwy 76.

Campers at Hideout Mountain Lodge rave about its breathtaking views and peaceful surroundings, making it a popular choice for a quick getaway. The lodge offers a variety of accommodation options, including campsites, RV spots, and cabins, each praised for their cleanliness and scenic beauty. Many appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the proximity to attractions like Julian and hiking trails. A few visitors noted challenges with WiFi connectivity and the need for shade in summer, but these minor inconveniences do not overshadow the overall positive experience.

Loved the view! The space was easy to find. My only issue was that the path to go up to the bathroom was steeper and slippier than I had expected. I would totally go back but I am probably going to choose one of the upper sites instead.

Gorgeous views, but not private.
The perch was a stellar view. We were the only ones to book out of four open spots which was ideal because we had full access to the site’s campfire ring and lookout point. It was strange that many other campers from tent spots down the hill came to the lookout and stayed for hours at points… I guess my point is, there may be other people around even if you’re the only one to have booked the Perch area.

I took my son to San Diego to visit the college he will be attending next fall. We decided to stay in a campground. After researching for a while, we decided on Josie’s Mountain Top Hideout. Great location, amazing views, firm, but comfortable bed and great, peaceful atmosphere. We had a great time.

Picturesque Views
I had the pleasure of discovering Hideout Mountain Lodge during a break between work assignments, and it turned out to be such a delightful getaway. I was impressed by the variety of accommodation options available, from camping spots to RV and cabin rentals, all with incredibly scenic views. Initially, I had planned to camp for my entire stay. However, the weather took an unexpected turn with cold temperatures and rain on my last night. The lodge staff were exceptionally kind and offered me a cabin at a discounted rate, which I truly appreciated. I'm already looking forward to a future visit to Hideout Mountain Lodge and hope to bring along some friends and/or family next time to share the experience.
