This 20 hectare property lies on the banks of the Euleilah River which is part of the larger Baffle Creek Catchment. Since 2017, approximately 2/3 of the property has been reserved as bushland. The grass cuttings are harvested to store carbon as mulch and then used to make potting mix. Currently the property is being cleared of weeds, and the firebreaks are being reinstalled. A market garden has been established to grow native hibiscus and native fig trees.
Price is per site (or 4 guests 13+). Kids 12 and under are free. All of our campsites are more than 1 acre and accommodate up to 20 guests; are 2WD accessible and have pull through bays for your van/boat/trailer. There are dump points but no toilets or showers.
River side or bush camping, with fishing and crabbing. Boat ramp for your paddle craft or tinny.

River side or bush camping, with fishing and crabbing. Boat ramp for your paddle craft or tinny. Bush walk from the river along the creek to the dam. Dipping ponds (or dam) if it's a hot day. Just 300m from the shops and 20 mins from the beach and river mouth. A great crocodile-free base camp from which to explore the Discovery Coast.
River Camp is limited to just four campsites (sites 1-4). Each river camp site comes with its own (chlorinated) 1500L "farmer's dipping pond", foot bath (crate), pool scoop, grass mat, fire drum, 10L rainwater container (refilled daily), leaf rake, shovel and water bucket. Rainwater is also available if you need to fill water tanks when you arrive. There is a dump point for chemical toilets. We provide piles of sticks as firewood and easy access to log piles. You can also buy hardwood firewood bundles for $10 or you can cut your own. A fishing deck (in front of site 2), camp box, fishing gear, crab traps and kayak are provided for all campers to share.
Campers should expect midges (sandflies) at dawn and dusk; we recommend Bushman repellent. Campers should consider that the dipping ponds, dam and river are unfenced; and that other campers may have dogs.
River Camp Site 1 has its own fishing "beach" and is closest to the boat ramp. River Camp Site 2 is directly behind the communal fishing deck and includes a 5x6m sun/rain shelter. River Camp Site 3 has a nice river view from its pool but has limited fishing access to the river. River Camp Site 4 is at the far end of the camp and is best for privacy or longer stays but has limited fishing access to the river.
Overflow Site 5 is away from the river and has no pool, although after rain the creek and billabong fills up. It can also be used as an overflow site if you can't get all the dates you want at a riverside camp. This camp is "in progress" and is located at the entrance to (future) Bushland Camp.
Lake Camp Site 6 is a 1-acre clearing next to the dam and is completely surrounded by bush. This site has a sun/rain shelter, open fire, free wood (logs and branches) and dump point.
Overflow (+Power) Site 7 is a powered site near the house, 650m from the river and has no pool. It has a lot less midges and can be used as an overflow site.
Make sure you select the camp site you want when booking or Hipcamp will automatically give you Site 7. Campers should consider that the dipping ponds, dam and river are unfenced; and that other campers may have dogs.
A Welcome Pack will be emailed with your booking confirmation; which includes contact details, map of property, local amenities and attractions. Caretaker Hambo will be at hand to make sure you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay.
The local pub, bottle shop, take away, tackle shop, hardware, post office and petrol station are just 300m from the property. Rules beach is 15km and the river is navigable the whole way. There are two other boat ramps on the way to the coast. The closest large towns are Agnes Water/1770 (50km north) and Bundaberg (80km south).
Telstra mobile reception in the area is good, however Optus mobile reception seems unreliable. Please text your name and an ETA (to Hambo via mobile) before arriving at the property.
