Formally a banana & pineapple plantation, Hunchy Hills is strictly 4WD only access property. We offer two types of camping; bush sites and a Camping Pod. There is a toilet and gas hot shower included. If you have a camper trailer it needs to be off-road/high clearance and you need to be experienced in towing off road. We cannot accept caravans/hybrids of any size or type. Sites 1-3 are large level pads approx. 12M by 12M, each with their own fire pit (please do not damage or move the bricks) and log seat. Site 4 is perched on the side of the hill and 6M by 6M in size. Suitable for vehicle based campers/swags/small tents with a sense of adventure and best with max 2 people. We have a backup spot too if access is too difficult. Pets (on leash) are welcome, please ensure you pick up after them. Number of guests for bookings is for total adults (16 and over). Kids (15 and under) are free and are not counted in the maximum number of guests. Firewood is sold at the check-in via an honesty box. $20 per bag (22kgs approx.) or add on to your booking for $22ea. Travel down the gravel road for about half a km and pop out through a tree tunnel to a secluded 2 acre cleared grassy paddock where the toilet & sites 1-3 are situated. Site 4 is on top of a small hill separate to the main camping area. The Pod is in its own cleared paddock, looking out to bush. Site 1 is in shade in winter and partial sun in summer. Site 2 is in shade in the morning and afternoon sun all seasons. Site 3 is in morning sun and shade in the afternoon all seasons. Site 4 is in morning sun and shade in the afternoon all seasons. Pod is in shade in the morning and afternoon sun all seasons. ACCESS INFO SITES 1-3 & Pod: STANDARD 4WD or walk in ACCESS INFO SITE 4: LOW RANGE, VERY STEEP, EXPERIENCED 4WDERS WITH MIN AT TYRES. A seasonal creek runs through the property. We are located 3 minutes from Montville and 7 min to Palmwoods. There's plenty to explore in the area with short drives to the many attractions including National Parks, Glass House Mountains, the famous Rick's Garage Diner, wineries, micro breweries and more. Go fishing at Baroon Pocket Dam and have a swim at Obi Obi Creek or Kondalilla. If you're after some saltwater it's a 30 min drive to most beaches on the coast.

Other Things to Note Access to the property involves crossing a dip ( at the moment the continual rain has washed some of the dip soil at the base so it is a bit d lower, low clearance vans maybe not suited) and a causeway . This track is almost always accessible by 2WD. Contact us regarding crossing conditions and wet weather access before your stay. Toilet facilities are not available and bush toilets are NOT permitted. Campers must bring their own camping toilets and take all waste when they go. Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits, based on weather conditions. Firewood is available for $15.per bag this is in the shade shelter with the fire pits if there isn't one at your site. We would appreciate if you could return your bags pls. Generators are permitted, we ask that these are turned off by 8pm for the comfort of other guests and our neighbours across the river.

We don’t charge for pets, nor do we charge to use our 6 onsite canoes, nor do we charge extra for hot showers or rubbish removal, we have guest wifi. Our 1km private driveway is rough but if driven to conditions a 2wd has no issues. I have a 2wd and drive in and out multiple times per day. Most of the time space is abundant however if choosing to come on a long weekend, Easter or New Years expect it to be a lot busier than your average weekend with larger groups camping together, however still plenty of space between groups. You won’t ever have to trip over your neighbours tent ropes here. Eco friendly lakefront and near to lake front sites. Please don’t arrive expecting lakefront, our sites are all near to and Depending on group size not everyone will have lake frontage. We can never guarantee requests. We assign sites based on numbers and camping equipment. Furtherest camp spot is approximately 500m from amenities block, however porta loos are located in the remote site but it’s a walk or drive back to the showers. Flushing toilets and 2 hot showers available in main area. Please note: toilet cartridges are not to be emptied into our toilets. Take it home or dispose at dump point at Woodford Showgrounds We provide unpowered Bush camping, and we try to keep the camp sites as natural as possible, no flat pads. Please note if you’re wanting a function the price is $5500 which gives you sole use of the property up to 70 campers. We have a great supply of locally sourced firewood, $20 per bag 20kg-25kg and we strongly discourage wood brought on from other areas due to biosecurity concerns. Please come to our reception building on the way in, as we need to check everybody in, visitors to your camp site need to sign in and pay a day fee. Buranga Farm is a small organic family-run farm on 60 acres in the Noosa hinterland only ten minutes from Peregian Beach. The property is largely flat with a hill on the Eastern side and a ridgeline at the very back of the property. Site one and two are located on the hillside looking west to Mount Cooroy and are best suited for couples. Due to our extended and continuous wet weather , we have currently reduced our availability to four sites only and to 4WD accessibility only, unless you book the Dam , we ask our campers to minimise driving on the property. If wet, please engage 4WD and stay out of the ruts. As much as we would love to fix the roads, due to the wet we just haven't had the right conditions at the right time to do so. It you want to drive to the Dam from Didjabringyabeeralong, the Black Stump or Dolittle, you can drive out gate 3 turn right and come back in gate 4, or you are more than welcome to WALK the internal roads We are a 90acre private property who raise cattle and goats and have opened up to campers who, like us, prefer and love peace and nature. We have all of our sites on Booking request ( Reserve). Please check that you are ok with our property rules before you book. If you are one of our valued regulars, thank you, we love hosting you on the property and always look forward to see you again. If your preferred site is not available , shoot us a message , we may have an alternative for you:) Our rules are really not rocket science, don't take things that are not yours, use the toilets instead of our bush, don't cut down trees or damage things, that includes damaging trees, don't leave anything but ash in the firepit ,make sure the fire is fully extinguished, remove your rubbish and respect and consider your fellow campers and our neighbours. Axe throwing has recently become popular within the city, if you must try it on the property , bring a board, our trees are not to be used as targets. Stay out of our gated paddocks. This is for Biosecurity and your safety. If you are first time campers on our property, this is our philosophy, and we are trying to create peace and tranquility that people crave so much when they get out of their busy lives. We are not the place for rowdy parties. Most of our sites are nestled on different levels between trees and bush so you will feel like you are the only ones there. You are welcome to have a campfire when there is no fire ban in place, however due to the unique surroundings we offer, we do require you to be extra vigilant with fire safety. Please read site descriptions carefully as we have sites that are substantially different in 4WD or 2WD access, privacy , level ground and distance to a toilet. We affectionately call our property "The Rustic Resort". This is a tribute to the rusty water tanks and dilapidated animal shelters that were left behind when we moved in. Our farm was once part of a thriving rural property in the 1920's. It used to be a dairy farm and then a banana farm. We now raise goats and cattle. Our property is dog friendly to responsible dog owners, we are happy for your pups to be off lead as long as you are the one in control. We have a large farm dam that never runs dry, (NO fishing please as we use this for livestock and swimming, and the last thing we need is hooks in peoples or animals feet. ) It is wonderful for a refreshing swim, there is a ladder to make it easier to get into the dam and there are floating noodles for your use during the summer months. Feel free to bring your paddle boards and canoes. We are centrally located to explore the Glass house mountains, Stoney creek, Rocky holes, Bribie island, Woodford, Mt Mee, Montville, Maleny and much, much more. We are 10 minutes from Woodford and the wonderful Woodford Folk Festival. "White Ridge Farm" in Elimbah is only 20 minutes from us, and the kids will love the interactive farm experience and cuddling the baby animals. Wamuran has an IGA, a wonderful butcher, bakery, bottle shop, servo, fish and chip shop, a new pizza place and a Thai/Indian take away that is sensational. Wamuran holds a local country market every 4th Saturday per month from 7am to midday. There is a Woodfire pizza van in town 2 out of 4 weekends, look up Deadwood Pizza Wamuran to check the dates. We love them. If you would like to stay longer but feel like you need a shower occasionally, there is a public pool in Woodford and a public pool on King Street towards Caboolture , both are about a 10/15 minute drive from us. Wamuran is less than an hour north from the city, yet you will feel like you are far away. Our 1000 acres mountain top working cattle and horses farm is only 45 minutes from Brisbane CBD. It offers spectacular Glasshouse mountains and ocean views. We have a beautiful deepwater lake that's perfect for swimming, canoeing. The property is traversed by a number of rain forested creeks and ravines which are perfect for adventure hiking and rock climbing. We can also take you horse riding around the farm for a couple of hours or to the local winery if you prefer longer ride. We cater for all levels of riding. We have many panoramic campsites for you to choose from. These are suited to any one with the swag, tent, camper, caravan or motorhome. You need to be self sufficient. For those liking the comforts of home we have a bunkhouse which sleeps 10 and has electricity, water, flush toilet, shower, stove, microwave and TV. Linen is not supplied. For those without transport Dakabin train station is 25 min from the farm. Pick up and drop off to the station can be arranged. There is a wide variety of shops and restaurants less than 10 min away.

We are located in the middle of the Glass House Mountains with wonderful views of Mt Coonowrin. It is a great spot for scenic photography, a base to explore the many hikes and climbs from in the surrounding National Parks. This site is located in the middle of the Glass House Mountains with wonderful views of Mt Coonowrin. Note: This site does not have any toilet or shower facilities so you will need to be a self-contained camper and bring your own. You can bring your own firewood from local service stations or other sources to be used in the firepit. Bring your hiking gear, your mountain bike and definitely bring your camera as the views are stellar. The craggy peaks of the Glass House Mountains tower above the surrounding landscape. They are so significant that they are listed on the Queensland and National Heritage Register as a landscape of national significance. Walking tracks lead through a variety of open forests to lookouts with panoramic views of the mountains. Some tracks are suitable for all levels of fitness and others include more challenging grades including rock scrambling skills. There are other challenging summit routes and climbing sites for experienced rockclimbers and abseilers. Or you might want to pull up a hammock and just laze the day away.

About

Bribie Island offers beautiful coastal scenery, low-key bush camping spots, popular boating and fishing areas in Pumicestone Passage, excellent birdwatching opportunities and spring wildflowers.

Linked to the mainland by bridge, about 90 kilometres north of Brisbane, Bribie Island is a seaside community with all the facilities you’d want for your camping trip. Coastal camping offers opportunities for birders, with up to 15,000 migratory shorebirds visiting the island’s wetlands between December and April. Expect to see ospreys, sea eagles, brahminy kites, and whistling kites. Three camping areas are accessible only by 4WD and another two by boat. The calm Pumicestone Passage is perfect for kayaking, with the backdrop of the Glass House Mountains. Don’t be surprised if you see dolphins, dugongs or turtles.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for fishing: Lime Pocket, accessible by boat, offers excellent fishing.
  • Best for big groups: Poverty Creek camping area has grassy open spaces.
  • Best for water views: Gallagher Point camping area overlooks Pumicestone Passage.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Camping permits, available online or by phone, are required.
  2. Book at least three months in advance if you can, or up to 12 months in advance for Queensland school holiday times.

When to go

Bribie Island has a mild, subtropical climate. The average daily temperature range is 22–30° C in summer and 12–22° C in winter. Summer (December to February) is hot and humid and can see some fantastic afternoon thunderstorms. Spring (September to November) is a lovely time to camp, but Australian school holiday times can be busy.

Know before you go

  • Access requires a 4WD vehicle and a vehicle access permit.
  • Campers may only access booked campsites after 2pm on the day of arrival and must leave by 11am.
  • Bring drinking water. There is no water supply at Gallagher Point or Lime Pocket camping areas; water in the taps at the other camping areas is not suitable for drinking.
  • It is illegal to collect firewood in the park, so bring wood if you want a campfire.
  • When driving on the beach, check the tides and travel as close to low tide as possible, as this is when conditions are safest.
