Leaving Mainville on Rt 339 E you see Catawissa Creek on your right suitable for kayaking. Turn right on Fisher Run Rd. crossing the green metal bridge crossing over the local swimming hole. Once across watch for the guineas crossing the road and please take your time going up the mountain watching for oncoming traffic. Head past the cut rock base of the old railroad tressell,google Maineville Train Tressell. Up the road you pass the old railroad bed on the left,great for following the route of the old Catawissa RR which provides miles of easy hiking and biking with direct access from your site. On the right Firetower Rd will take you to a link in the chain of former Indian sites for signal fires along the Susquehanna River with great views of the area, over 20,000 acres of state game lands with miles of hiking and biking trails.
