Growing up in Altoona, my free time was devoted to hockey and getting out of the city. I came out to this area from the time I was 10 years old to go camping and hunting as much as possible. So, after my time in the army and pursuing my education around the world, I bought a home in the country outside of Altoona. Its small compared to many of the parcels passed down through generations, but coming from a city house with a yard much smaller than just my parking area, I still feel an obligation to share what little i have and provide a safe, peaceful respite for people living the hard life on the road. Whether you're a full time truck camper traveling, or a truck driver who just needs a day off, you can even park at Walmart and I'll come pick you up for a well deserved break to sleep in a bed. Back your truck camper, skoolie, or campervan up to the peaceful creek and enjoy the property for a day or a week. You could also park on the paved driveway, let the sun hit your solar panels all day while you catch up on some needed sleep for your big adventure, then jump right back on the highway with minimal human interaction. Turkey, Deer, Falcons, songbirds, occasional Herons, Owls hooting and amazing stars!!
I am very familiar with all local state parks, Raystown and Glendale lake, 5 minutes from Blue Knob ski resort , close to railroad hobby hotspots, Amish food stores, The Horseshoe Curve and 2 minutes from the highway to get to the Penn State Game!! Of course, only after a good night sleep without hearing the party coming in the hotel or campground at 230am on Friday night. Knowledge of the local dispensaries in the area and medical cards are welcome here, however tobacco use must be done relatively close to your fire pit or vehicle. Nice, warm PA built stove burning strong all winter if you spend all day on the slopes, you can dry your wet gear in my house. Im also helpful with mechanical repairs and troubleshooting vehicles if you're on a cross country adventure and have a concern. You can park your camper and I'll follow you to drop of your vehicle for repairs if you're in a serious bind. Emergency medical supplies available onsite with multiple hospitals nearby and fire extinguisher will be provided for the fire area. 1lbs Propane bottle refill available plus Kerosene, Coleman fuel, and firewood all available onsite. Motorcycle friendly with rooms for rent too. This is a SAFE PLACE for ALL weary Travelers. Every color, sex, religion, family type, and race is welcome and protected here. Have a Rasta Retreat or a Redneck Revival, just be decent, courteous, and enjoy your journey
