Great tent camping. The view from the property is really great, was able to get some Verizon service, and the location is really easy to find. Dan is also super communicative and answered any questions we had really quickly!

Gem of a spot
This is really a gem of a spot near Rangeley and Saddleback. We happened to be here with no other campers so our experience was very private. The views are amazing. We stayed in a tent site and had enough space to drive in and set up, and the fee is a good value. Would return here to camp in the area any time.

We had an amazing time! The walk on site is the most private, the views are spectacular!
Stores are close enough to stock up on everything, and it’s the perfect location for all your hiking needs! Can’t wait to go back! 🩵

Great back country campsite
Very good place to camp and it has easy access to a lake and the Appalachian trail. There is no shower, and I would recommend bringing a water filter, but the outhouse is very nice and the campsites a great. Also keep in mind that there are three campsites here so you may not be all by yourself.

Simple but great spot
Nice spot - “Saddleback Base” is a good description since you can hike it from down the road of the property.
We had one of the tent sites, not the cabin.
You drive down this semi private gravel road with about a dozen cabins, across that pond in the pictures, and about a mile further is the property. Dan happened to be there with his family and was very nice dude and accommodating, the tent site we had was far enough away to have our own privacy. A lovely pine / boreal feel. Would absolutely book again if back in the area!

Quiet spot up a skinny dirt road. Very pretty views. I’d recommend bringing a way to filter the spring water up there.

This was such a nice spot, reasonably priced with an absolutely gorgeous view and the host was so nice! I’ll stay there again definitely. It was quiet and I loved that there was an outhouse and a natural spring. My dog had the best time there as well getting to run through the woods and sniff literally everything lol.

This off the beaten path location is extremely quiet & remote. Nice breezes as it’s at a higher elevation. Would recommend for anyone looking for camping near the Rangeley area.

Rangely Cabin Retreat
I had a great time at the cabin. I brought my dog with me and it was such a beautiful and private location. The view was stunning, incredible sunset color each night. The cabin had everything I needed...great size for 1 or more. It was clean. I was able to cook on the gas stove...kept things cold in the nearby spring. The outhouse was clean and accessible. Careful driving along the long road to get in. It's doable in a Honda Fit, taking it slow, but all wheel drive would probably be preferable.
The proximity to Rangely and Oqassic was convenient, and it also had an off grid experience. I eventually appreciated being off grid and not having access to my phone, but bring battery back ups for your phone if you desire the use of them.
Dan was available when I needed him via text.
I'd definitely go back.

Cozy Cabin
We loved our stay. Perfect fall get away. The cabin is cute and cozy and the view is great. Rangely is a great little town with good restaurants and plenty of hikes, lookouts, and other things to keep busy. We love it here and plan to come back next year!

Cozy and peaceful
We camped for two nights at the walk-in site and it was great! The land is far away from any busy roads and the cabin/fire pit have beautiful views. Rangeley is only 15 minutes away. The walk-in site was large, quiet, and perfectly flat for a tent. I would definitely stay here again!

Great spot, but a few FYIs
This place was everything we were looking for in a cabin to spend a rainy summer night. There were only a few things I wish were made more clear in the listing. Number one is that they do not provide any sort of bedding, which I have no problem with at all, but this was not written in the listing so we had to make do on a bare mattress. Number two is the water, while listed as potable I would say it would definitely be better to bring your own as the spring water was flowing green with algae. Again, I would have been happy to bring in my own water had I known, but was under the impression the water would be clean to drink. Overall, I had a wonderful time, I really enjoyed the wood stove and the back porch with such a great view. It was in the perfect location for us and we will likely be back again!

Beautiful spot! Composting toilets were clean and the huge fire pit was well stocked. The perfect place to stay before hiking up saddleback and would love to stay again if we’re back in the area!

I loved staying in Dan’s cabin! Watching the stars on the porch wrapped in my sleeping bag made for a special time. The land was secluded and private with everything you need, but if you forgot something, the town of Rangeley with grocery store and gas station was within about ten miles from the site.There was one other group of campers one night but I barely heard them. Directions to the land and where to find the key were clear and had no problem with either of them. Dan was very responsive with any questions and some helpful tips about where to visit. Thank you!

It was truly a privilege to stay at Dan’s cabin. The cabin itself is wonderful and so is the property and the view. It was quiet and peaceful and Dan gave very detailed instructions on getting there which was much appreciated. Highly recommended place to stay for an ultimate Maine experience, thank you Dan.

Staging site for NFCT trip
A great spot. A glitch in communications rousted us up at 11 pm when another group of campers arrived that we didn’t expect. More info on where to park would have been great. World’s greatest fire pit and a fully loaded woodshed to prep logs for the fire. Nice to have a camp sink too. Privy was clean. Beautiful spot - tons of birds.

Really pretty site, cabin was spacious, clean and the porch was really nice to hang out on. The views of the mountain are beautiful. Getting up to the site was a little tricky and would be best in a 4 wheel drive. Otherwise, very relaxing and accommodating!

Nice convenient off grid location. Beautiful mountain view when it is not raining 😀. The facility is clean and well maintained. The host Dan is very communicative and gives great suggestions for hiking. The public area is a bit small with just one picnic table if there are multiple groups having meals at the same time
