Perfect coastal location for wine tasting, beach combing and foodie pursuits.
The SpaceWe have set up our airstream as a lovely guest space to enjoy indoor and outdoor living on our little homestead. The airstream is hooked up to electricity and septic so you'll have full use of the kitchen and bath. The indoor space has a fully functioning kitchen with fridge, four burner stove, microwave and large kitchen sink. Fully stocked with basic cooking supplies, spices, local olive oil, and coffee. There is a banquette next to big windows where you can eat a meal or do some computer work. A cozy couch lines the front of the space with local magazines, a bluetooth speaker, designer pillows, a warm blanket, mood lighting and plenty of extra electric outlets.
The bathroom is split, with a sink, plenty of storage and a toilet on one side of the hall and a shower on the other. The shower has good water pressure and temperature but do take note that this is a trailer and the shower can be a tight fit. We provide towels and body wash for your stay.
The bedroom is in the rear of the airstream outfitted with a standard queen mattress. There are bedside nooks on either side of the bed for your water or reading materials. There are windows on all three sides that can be closed with shades to keep out the morning light. There is also a flatscreen Roku TV mounted on the wall so you can cozy in with a movie before falling asleep.
You enter and exit the airstream from a large redwood deck that overlooks the creek. Amazing bird listening and watching opportunities. The deck is lit with strong lights, has comfortable retro rockers, a table and chairs as well as a large built-in bench along the back. There is also a gas BBQ and all the tools you need to grill a meal. Off the deck you will enjoy your own private yard adjacent to the chicken coop. We will leave you a bit of chicken scratch so you can toss in a treat for the hens and watch them peck away. Sit by the fire pit on a bench custom built out of salvage wood from the property and stay warm on cool coastal evenings.
Guest AccessYou will have a private access to the airstream and its entire private outdoor space. Parking is located right in front. Note that this area is adjacent to our family's home which is our private space. The rental area itself is very private and peaceful.
Guest InteractionWe are generally around to address any issues or lend you a kitchen item you might need. Your space is private, but you will likely hear us and our kids playing and utilizing in the yard. This is a family home, so please keep that in mind. On that note we are early to bed, early to rise so please no loud music past 10pm.
We welcome as much or as little interaction as you need. We have a vegetable garden and chicken eggs which you may find in your fridge when seasonally abundant. Happy to have you wander our little property and visit with the pigs or sheep.
The AreaOur 2 acre property sits in the corner of a vast dairy farm, so in all directions you are surrounded by beautiful pastures. The cows will follow you on evening walks down the winding road. Seemingly remote, yet walking distance to the quaint town of Valley Ford. In town you'll find a market with a full deli and local butcher and three different family-owned restaurants and a creamery/cafe where you can buy picnic supplies and cheese made by locals. Five minute drive will take you to the luxurious town of Freestone where you can hit a renown bakery and cheese shop. Top it off with a massage at the day spa.
Beaches and seafood in Bodega Bay are 15 min down the road. Sebastopol with its Sunday farmers market and walkable downtown is 15 min. Occidental has more restaurants, an event center and a great seasonal Friday night market 20 min drive. The Russian River is 20 minutes. Bustling Petaluma with great antiques is 20 mins. Marshall and Tomales Bay for oysters is 10 minutes. Point Reyes Station and the National Seashore is 30 min.
NOTE: ANIMALS: I'm sorry we can not accept dogs in the airstream. We have chickens and sometimes livestock on our property and we are bordered by cow pasture on two sides. This may be too tempting a jaunt for a dog. Neither the airstream area nor the rest of our property is completely fenced. We have three outdoor cats that roam the property and may come say hello. You may also see wildlife dart in front of your deck from the creekside bushes. We have seen foxes, rabbits, and bobcats in our area. Not to mention the many birds that live in the trees above.
TOT TAX: The County charges a 10% Transient Occupancy Tax for short term rentals. This will be an additional charge that we need to collect. Please consider this with your budgeting.
AIRSTREAM: Though this is a fully functioning and luxurious guest space it is still a trailer. This is luxury for the adventure seeking. Glamping as they say. The bathroom facilities in particular are typical for this type of accommodation. Clean and comfortable but not as spacious as they'd be in a house. There are a few instructions that we will leave for you to keep in mind when using the facilities. It's nothing that will detract from your stay, but are just part of the experience.
