Disconnect from Wi-Fi (none) and chaos to view sunsets, wide open, star filled, and moon lit night skies with the Milky Way and a few satellites as a bonus.
The Little Cabin offers a mountainside basecamp, getaway, vacation or a more scenic overnight travel stop to allow you and your fur baby to enjoy some Wyoming open space. A microwave, insta pot, mini fridge allow for simple meals to be prepared for inside or outside dining or stop for a meal in any of the communities along your way here. Bring water, cabin is dry. I do keep some basics in the cabin so if you are traveling grab a meal, snacks and some water, the cabin is stocked with the rest of what you'll need for a night's stay without having to unpack the vehicle. If you're traveling I80, the Little Cabin is a great place to enjoy the sunset or just a peaceful night's sleep after enjoying the Snowy Range Scenic byway in the summer, and the back way (a possible work around if the interstate is closed) in the winter, or I80 coming from the east, it's an easy exit off of I 80 and then 30 miles here. If you're coming in from Denver/Ft Collins, Co area, Poudre Canyon is a beautiful drive and can take you thru Walden, Co or bring you in on Wyo 10. Feel free to reach out if you have questions on the routes, scenic stops, cut overs or short cuts.
There is Hiking, Fishing, Snow Shoeing, Cross Country skiing, Downhill skiing, (Snowy Range Ski Area) Hot Springs, Mountain Lakes, Plains Lakes, the Big Laramie River, all with in a 7-to-90-mile radius. There is public access, dogs allowed, to the Big Laramie River across the highway where you can fish or walk the public access path that runs alongside it.
Watching the wildlife is an experience of its own. From Chipmunks to deer, we see an assortment. If you enjoy birds and their sounds, you can pick a spot and enjoy. If you are a weather watcher, you may see 3-4 seasons in one day depending on the time of year. It's a great place to snuggle in, read a book, write a book or a song, watch a downloaded movie or just sleep, but disconnect from the chaos, the alerts and ground yourself.

We are located one mile south of the Wyoming/Colorado border on the west side of Highway 287, one mile north of the rest area. The elevation is about 7,500 feet. Our property, and the surrounding area, is loaded with stunning granite boulders. This outcropping is part of the Sherman Batholith, (just like Vedauwoo to the North), dated at 1.4 billion years old! There are a variety of trees and abundant wildlife and birds. RVs, pop-up and all styles of towed campers are welcome, except Class A motor homes or low ground clearance vehicles, due to a small hill and dirt roads. Our house is uphill and far enough away that you won't see us, but we're available if you need anything. The property line is fenced and/or marked, we ask that you stay on our property and keep close contact with your kids and your dogs leashed, or nearby, for their safety... due to wildlife, as well as neighbors with horses and cattle.

Very nice close hike to a creek. Camp site's 5 and 6 are secluded. Sites 7,8,9 have some seclusion. Site's 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 ,15 are perfect for families, where you can all be together but separate. We are a work in progress but we
will try to accommodate anything you may need.

The Virginia Dale Stage Station is about three miles away and the overland trail has several branches going through here.

General store, and Western Themed Town coming soon. We have campsites for RV’s or Tents. We have an amazing 1000 acres to have your own hiking, wildlife, birdwatching, adventure. We have great hiking and wildlife viewing, marmots, pronghorn, antelope, deer, elk, and an occasional moose. Birds of every feather gather here so bring your binoculars. Hikes include balancing boulders and rock formations. Wonderful stargazing, our stars are so bright it seems like you can reach up and touch them. We are a working ranch and do have livestock. Don’t mess with the bull.
Firewood, for $7.00 per bag.
The bags make a great trash bag when empty!
Do not bring your own firewood, as we don’t want more pine beetles and noxious weeds.
Due to the high volume of people coming in separate vehicles, after two vehicles per site, its $10.00 per vehicle extra per night. We have portable outhouses available.

Had a canopy setup over a large outdoor table with chairs that came in handy as we got a little bit of rain. Didn’t have to unpack much of my camper gear as most of what we needed was already set up

Staying on Kym's property was my first Hipcamp experience and it couldn't have gone any better. Her place was easy to find and not far outside of Laramie, but still felt like I was away from it all and camping. There were lovely sunset views and a spectacular full moon the night I was there. It was quiet at night and I slept well. In the morning I watched Pronghorn Antelope in the prairie as I enjoyed my coffee in the van. Also Kym was an excellent host and fun to chat with.

Second time staying at this location. The hosts are wonderful and the space is perfect for not only an overnight stay, but also a peaceful place to work while traveling as well. Whether you have your own rig or stay in one of the cabins, with great views from each site you can’t go wrong with this stop. Will definitely be back again.

We cabin camped with Chas at the Blue Moon cabin, and it was lovely. The natural there was gorgeous, and so was the cabin.
I stayed two nights with my 12 year old son, and his dog, and we had so much fun exploring the land and when we got tired, the cabin was a little oasis. The bed was comfortable, there were just enough amenities (toilet, electricity for charging) that we weren't 'roughing it' but with no wifi and limited cell service, I got my son off his phone and he wasn't even mad because there were big rocks to climb, lots of places to explore and good hikes nearby. It was an amazing trip, and Chas' cabin made it perfect.
He and his wife were welcoming and kind hosts, and I am so grateful for all their work to make the cabin such amazing place to spend the weekend.

This is one of the best camping experiences I've ever had! So many thoughtful touches. Nicest porta potty I've ever seen, it was so helpful to have a sink, and also the canopy over the table was a great respite from the afternoon rain. We definitely want to come back and would recommend to anyone with little kids - ours had a blast.

This was our second time to stay at Blue Moon, this time with the kids and the dog. We really liked that our kids had the experience of climbing trees and rocks, seeing wildlife, and exploring. We were able to see so many stars in the dark skies. But we still had the convenience of a comfy bed, toilet, and clean water. Chas even provided cots for the kids. We played games in the cabin, and really had the best time. Would love to come back again in the fall to see the Aspen!

We had a lovely stay! It’s a beautiful area and the site was thoughtfully laid out. It’s surrounded by trees and rocks. Even with a hot day, we kept cool between the trees, breeze, and canopy. There are two small cabins also in the area but it still feels incredibly private - we could not see them or the primary residence. They’ve built a fantastic patio with string lights and a large picnic table. There’s also a charcoal grill and fire pit with granite seats that will be great to use when there’s no fire ban. They also built a luxurious outhouse a short walk away. It is a bright, clean and spacious room with a compost toilet. Well maintained and stocked. Plenty of room to get dressed if needed. Depending on the wind, you’ll catch the highway/train noise. Bring earplugs if you’re sensitive. We were also very close to Curt Gowdy State Park and Vedauwoo recreation area. Chad and Gail were friendly and gracious hosts and we are grateful that they welcomed us on their land. We recommend!!

I loved my two-night stay at the little cabin. The directions are clear and it's easy to get to. As long as its dry, you don't need a 4-wheel drive. The cabin is about 200 yards from the main house. It has everything you need for your stay. Every time I thought "Oh, it be nice to have x, I'd look around and find it hanging on a hook."
Linda is super duper nice. If I pass through Wyoming again, I'd def stop back at the little cabin.

What a great campsite for a larger group! So much space to park our cars, and lots of space to set up all our tents was great. The hosts were so thoughtful they had a sink with running water, several chairs and tables, a propane grill and firepit wirh multiple filled propane tanks for us, lovely hammocks and even a horseshoe pit! We will definitely come back to this site next year!
