Wonderful stargazing, our stars are so bright it seems like you can reach up and touch them. We are a working ranch and do have livestock. Don’t mess with the bull!Firewood, for $7.00 per bag delivered to your campsite.   The bags make a great trash bag when empty! Do not bring your own firewood, as we don’t want more pine beetles and noxious weeds.  Due to the high volume of people coming in separate vehicles, after two vehicles per site, its $10.00 per vehicle extra per night. The downtown stretch along Main St. is step back in time and the site of our local brewery (Suds). Up the road on I-80 is historic Fort Bridger. Fishing available at local reservoirs and Bear River.

If you're coming in from Denver/Ft Collins, Co area, Poudre Canyon is a beautiful drive and can take you thru Walden, Co or bring you in on Wyo 10. Feel free to reach out if you have questions on the routes, scenic stops, cut overs or short cuts. There is Hiking, Fishing, Snow Shoeing, Cross Country skiing, Downhill skiing, (Snowy Range Ski Area) Hot Springs, Mountain Lakes, Plains Lakes, the Big Laramie River, all with in a 5-to-90-mile radius. There is public access, dogs allowed, to the Big Laramie River across the highway where you can fish or walk the public access path that runs alongside it. Watching the wildlife is an experience of its own. From Chipmunks to deer, we see an assortment. If you enjoy birds and their sounds, you can pick a spot and enjoy. If you are a weather watcher, you may see 3-4 seasons in one day depending on the time of year. It's a great place to snuggle in, read a book, write a book, watch a downloaded movie or just sleep, but disconnect from the chaos and the alerts.

The hillside rises steeply behind you, turning into more mountains as it climbs out of sight. It is generally a quiet rural area about 6 miles from a town with gas, groceries, coffee shops, restaurants, laundromat, camper showers, and other amenities available. There are many trailheads for hiking nearby as well as fishing access to the main river at multiple points across the valley. The Star Valley and Oregon Trail history museums in town provide a fascinating look into the history of this valley. And the largest intermittent spring in the world is a beautiful short hike from a nearby trailhead. In the summer you'll probably hear Red Winged Blackbirds singing in the willows along the creek below and spot brilliant Western Tanagers flitting among the bushes. Bring your binoculars and some patience and you will likely spot a huge variety of other birds as well! This hillside is tucked in the middle of many working ranches so you might see cowboys ride by on horseback, a herd of cows being moved from one pasture to another, or 4 wheelers moving around depending on the time of year. This is a boon-docking site with no water, power, or toilet available. Just lots of nature and views! Plan for pack it in/pack it out and help us keep this spot of nature a place where many people can enjoy the peace of time in the mountains. The parking spot its self is a flat graveled pad suitable for rigs up to a 26 feet in length or tent camping. A small sitting area with a pair of chairs is provided for you to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise if you like. There is a gravel lane that comes up the hill from the paved county road below, and then the campsite sits off to the side of that tucked into a corner of the steep hillside. Family lives in a cabin further up the hillside, but out of both sight and earshot from the campsite. Sadly no campfires due to the danger of a wildfire. Camp stoves are just fine. We love our pets, and yours are welcome! But please keep them on a leash due to the high volume of wildlife in the area, some of which can easily kill a dog. Verizon phones usually have service in this particular spot, other carriers tend to be hit and miss. Plan to check in sometime after 3:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival and check out before 11:00 a.m. so we have a little bit of time in between guests to do any mowing or other maintenance to the site area.

We love our pets, and yours are welcome! But please keep them on a leash due to the high volume of wildlife in the area, some of which can easily kill a dog. Verizon phones usually have service in this particular spot, other carriers tend to be hit and miss. Plan to check in sometime after 3:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival and check out before 11:00 a.m. so we have a little bit of time in between guests to do any mowing or other maintenance to the site area.

We are 9 miles from town and centrally located in the Wind River Range, with 8 trailheads from 30-90 mins away. We are animal friendly, and have a yard hydrant for water. We have the camp area set on our 10 acres of land so it is not close to others. We offer a fire pit and a clean port a potty. We are only two hours from Yellowstone.

Weekend Trip to Little Cabin with a view

Linda's cabin was exactly what we were looking for - a place to get off our phones, relax and have fun with our pup. I spent most of the daylight hours outside wrapped in a blanket on the Adirondack chairs with my furry buddy at my feet. The cabin is well equipped with a a heater, microwave, mini fridge and electric kettle. There is also a propane BBQ just outside the cabin which we didn't use this trip, but will keep in mind for future visits. Our pup, Petra, had so much fun and I felt very comfortable having her off leash while exploring the property. She loved the treats Linda left for her each day! We were very comfortable; it was the perfect getaway.

Daniel’s property was easy to find. The site was gravel, but it was level. Daniel was very accommodating with an adaptor for our 30 Amp camper, as well as a water hookup. The view from our site, overlooking Douglas, was very nice with a beautiful sunset and sunrise.

Really beautiful spot! The cabin is the perfect size and well built. Huge windows overlook the view. You can’t see any neighbors which was perfect for us. Propane firepit was fantastic and Chas was a wonderful host! Very comfortable place - we hope to go back!

The cabin was a perfect mountain get away! Linda was extremely helpful, offering detailed directions, fresh cookies and fresh coffee in the morning. The property and view was breathtaking, pictures just don’t do it justice. The drive out is gorgeous and you get right into the mountains and backcountry. Amazing getaway for some peace and star gazing!

The location is beautiful. The ride up union pass is a well maintained dirt road, we got in late and had to drive it in the dark (would not recommend if you can avoid) but the road was wide enough to manage opposite direction vehicles. The spot was easy to find and get set up, the front to back leveling was a little step but side to side was good. Spot #2 still has line and neutral crossed so you'll need to use power from spot #1.
