Weekend Trip to River Forest Campground & Rafting
A relaxing and quiet location that is well appointed for all your needs. The property has a lot of activities during the summer months, and is a beautiful location in the fall. We love camping at River Forest!
We have been there during the week this summer and returned for 4 nights in Sept!
Clean bathrooms, flush toilets, showers!
Level campsites with space between each.
New FAVORITE campground!
Great hosts and they delivered wood and covered it b4 we arrived!

Enjoyed the trakl walk along the Wolf River. The office/camp grocery is nice. I got a super warm hoodie for fall winter. The rv campsite wasn't very private. But it was across from the restroom. They have been having some plumbing issues. But an alternate shower & toilet were available. The showers were warm. The hosts were nice & informative. We will be back again.

2 nights at River Forest Campground & Rafting
Stayed in Cabin 1 at the camp ground. The host was great I let them know in advance would be a long day of traveling, they took the time to make sure everything was arranged so I had everything would need upon arrival. Both the cabin and bathrooms were clean and you can tell they take pride in the property as it was clean and well maintained.

We loved camping at River Forest. Clean bathrooms and showers.
Level areas for RV and tents. This family owned campground in the forest is exceptional. Really friendly family running it. We did not go tubing but a group next to us said they had a blast rafting. 10/10*
We will be back! Hopefully in fall!

My group of 8 had such a great time on this trip! We loved the surrounding forest area, the river activities like rafting and tubing, and the nearby bars with amazing views. Big shoutout to Instructor Eddy and the owner — they were both super helpful and welcoming.
One thing to note: we were expecting a campsite like the one pictured in our booking (with lights around and a flat, wood-chipped area for tents), but we ended up with a different site that was a bit underdeveloped. It wasn’t a huge issue, but when it rained, our site did flood a bit — so just make sure to confirm what kind of site you’ll be getting ahead of time.
Other than that, highly recommend! The vibe was great, and from what the owner shared, they’re working on expanding and making improvements. Looking forward to seeing how the place grows!

Our group of eight had an amazing time over the Fourth of July weekend. The staff was so kind and helpful. The convenience store had everything you need in case you forget something and great food. We booked white water rafting and the tubing for two of the days we were there with Eddy as our guide we stayed at site 15 B, which is group camping closest to the stage. My only critique would be that the ground at that specific site is dirt and not wood chips or gravel or sand which made it messy once the rain came. I suggest booking a site that has wood chips or gravel or grass unless they decide to add one of those to that specific site.

Aimee and Rafael have created an idyllic camp, and we loved site 17, beautiful spot. Note the electrical box is near the front of the site, our 15' cord needed an extension which the staff kindly found one for us! We kayaked on Boulder lake, and hiked the trail along the Wolf River via the easily accessible trail. We loved to return for their annual music festival in May!

Very beautiful area. The camping area was excellent! They put a lot of work into this place. Very wooded, shady. We loved the red stone base for the campsite and roads throughout the campsite. Any neighboring camp sites were not close at all, just the way we prefer. And huge fire pits.

We had an amazing time at River Forest. Our site was very big and clean with nice crushed granite throughout. Our large fire pit with natural rocks was perfect for campfire cooking and warming up. The campground was beautifully nestled in the hardwood forest within walking distance of the river and hiking trail. Best of all the owners are extremely kind and helpful 🩷

We had a group of 9 people at River Forest and it was a wonderful stay from start to finish. The grounds staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, the bathrooms were clean, water was hot, and the space had a great balance of cleared areas for tents and lush treescapes. While we were there, there was also a music festival that was great to pop into, but wasn't so loud that it was distracting on our site. There are also some great activities that we look forward to trying out in warmer months when we come back!

It was a little hard to find given GPS took me to the Activity Center but once I found it, it was lovely. Only one other camper there. I had a nice, quiet spot with a view of the river. Will definitely stay again.
