We are 22 miles from the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, and a bit further North, from Ontario WI, one may embark by canoe or kayak, through some of the most stunning landscape to be found in Wisconsin. This area is called The Driftless because it lacks glacial drift, which refers to the deposits of silt, gravel and rock that glaciers would have left behind had they passed through this part of Southwestern Wisconsin. The area is unique in that the land here was never flattened by the ice that came through most of the Midwest during the last glacial period/ice age. When glaciers were in surrounding areas, the melt-water sometimes made its way into the Driftless Area and contributed to the formation of the valleys and bluffs which characterize the landscape, which is known for steep hills, forested ridges, deeply carved river valleys, and karst geology with caves and spring-fed cold water trout streams. Ecologically, the Driftless Area's flora and fauna are more closely related to those of the Great Lakes region and New England than those of the broader Midwest and central Plains regions.

I'm located between Wisconsin Dells and Lyndon Station on a cozy little 3-acre corner lot at the intersection of Highway 12 and Oak Glen Circle. The property is mostly wooded with beautiful white oak trees that I've done my best to preserve. It's spacious and features several small hiking trails that wind throughout the property. Each year, I welcome nesting bluebirds, robins, and ruby-throated hummingbirds. You'll also find several bird feeders that attract a wide variety of songbirds, along with squirrels, rabbits, and woodchucks that call the property home. Please note: I do have neighboring homes nearby, but it's a very quiet neighborhood of homeowners with no noisy renters. Nearby Attractions Wisconsin Dells – Just 3 miles away, offering endless attractions, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. River Bay – Only 2 miles away, with Wisconsin River access and a public boat launch. Bring your boat and experience one of the best stretches of the Wisconsin River. The fishing is excellent, too. Dells Motor Speedway – Just 1 mile away. Races are held every Saturday night, and the speedway has a long history of racing tradition. It's always an exciting experience, and I've been attending since I was a kid. Chubby's Exotic Resort – Located just 1 mile away. Everyone is welcome. Our stay at The Cozy Camper was an amazing experience during our road trip! Before we arrived, we reached out to Steve with a few questions, and he was incredibly responsive and helpful. The camper was very comfortable, and we slept great. Steve greeted us when we arrived, offered us cold bottles of water, and even had snacks available in case we needed them. His dogs were so sweet and made us feel even more welcome. There was a neighbor's dog (black fluffy) that came to greet us too, but don't get scared, it's very playful. We enjoyed relaxing by a bonfire, and Steve thoughtfully provided marshmallow roasting sticks. The bathroom was beautifully decorated, spotless, and stocked with air freshener and all the amenities we needed. Steve was a wonderful host, and we really enjoyed chatting with him about our trip. The location was perfect, right off the highway, making it easy to find, yet surprisingly quiet, so our sleep wasn't disturbed at all. If we're ever passing through the area again, we would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend The Cozy Camper to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming place to stay!

Weekend Trip to Oak Glen Hollow

Superb location and set up with the essentials! Steve was an excellent host and takes very good care of the land. The grounds are raked of leaves, plenty of tables and chairs, set-up of string lights, a hammock, and more. Steve was kind enough to drop off some cold waters too. His dog Stella is an absolute angel! The camper was a great size to sleep four comfortably. All of the walls you could zip down into screens to allow air in. Inside there was electricity where you could charge your phones. Funny to admit but the site has the NICEST porta potty ever! It's decorated inside, tons of air fresheners, and equipped with soft toilet paper. The location is phenomenal! It's within a 10 minute drive of Noah's Ark, a Super Walmart, BP Gas Station, the Outlets, Ho-Chunk Casino, Ishnala, and more. Steve and his campsite will have you set-up perfectly for a camp out in the WI Dells. I'd come back again!

1 night at Elysian View Farms

Elysian View Farm was our first HipCamp stay and will be hard to top in trips to come! Christine was gracious and informative about their land and the local area alike. We stayed in the barn which was clean, as described in the description and filled with nice touches like local maps and guides and a popcorn maker. The farm is beautiful and clearly well cared for. The animals are amazing and also clearly all cared for. We were comfortable and truly felt like we were in a private slice of heaven.

Weekend Trip to Bear Den Lake House, Westfield, WI

What a hidden gem! A cozy spot in a wooded area. We relaxed more than anticipated. Rooms are very spacious and fully furnished. No WiFi noo problem! I found this to be the best part. Listening to nature and casting off the dock next to a fire a few feet away…it was a welcome blast from the past with no electronics! Woot!! We did cheat a bit and watched some classic movies on dvd. Not far into the movie we switched and played card games instead. We paddled around the lake and casted a few times. So much fun! Thank you to property owners who were very accommodating. The entire experience is exactly what we had been looking for.

Weekend Trip to Elysian View Farms

Great hospitality and welcoming host. Peaceful, beautiful and refreshing atmosphere. All necessaries to enjoy a unique farm stay. My dog and I came to relax in nature and escape the city life. Please visit the farm produce stand and Amish shops! So close to state park and nature preserve. No mosquitoes or ticks found on farm which was a plus. Bring bug spray to state park! All of the farm animals are loving and met a day old calf which was an experience to remember ❤️. Thank you and looking forward to fall stay.

Weekend Trip to Heart of the Driftless

We absolutely loved the little oasis here in the driftless! It was a perfect quiet getaway from the city. We enjoyed the wildlife - butterflies, bees, deer, birds and the fireflies were so plentiful and beautiful. The cabin was equipped with everything you need for the weekend. Clean and perfectly set up! We'd love to come back to see it in the fall!

Weekend Trip to Echo Valley Farm

My partner and I really enjoyed staying at Echo Valley Farm. It's my second time visiting and it has such a unique and comfortable charm. We also preordered lemon and blueberry scones that were the best we've ever had -- highly recommend. Thanks to Dena and co. who make it happen! It's a very special place.

2 nights at Nature's Touch Campground

We stayed in a small cabin and were impressed by how comfortable we were with AC and bathrooms a short walk. The public showers and bathrooms where well kept. Calm and quiet with all the amenities you need. The pool and game room really put this site above others. I was also super impressed hoe close we were to the main strip of (Dayton lake / The Dells) with all the tourist attractions. Would 10/10 visit again

2 nights at Reel Adventures

The views of the hills and meadows were beautiful. The cabin was perfect, clean, everything we need to cook fresh brown trout, and coffee for the morning. It was nice to catch up on the local news with the large TV and sound bar in the morning. The Pine river is just outside the cabin, a 300 ft walk, to the cold water. Standing on the water with chest waders, we caught over 25 brown trout between two fisherman over a seven hour period. The front porch of the cabin is nice to sit on in the evening and listen to surrounding country side. The kitchen had everything we needed from a coffee maker, microwave, gas cooktop and oven, refrigerator, and bar to eat around.

Weekend Trip to Bear Hill

This stay was soo perfect!! Everything you need is already there ready and available. We didn’t stay all that long so we really didn’t get to do a whole lot at the actual location, but they have a grill, games, hammocks, hot tub. Literally everything you could need to have a good time. The area is absolutely stunning and the hosts are so kinda and accommodating. It’s dog friendly which is a huge plus. I would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Echo Valley Farm

My son and I had a wonderful and restorative weekend at Dena’s beautiful farm. The cabin was clean and nicely decorated. Greatly appreciated the coffee and tea! The pre-ordered rhubarb scones from the bakery were awesome. My son loved hanging out with the cat, feeding the sheep and watching the chickens from the screened in porch and picnic table. Provided fans kept the cabin comfortable at night even when it was over 90 during the day. We were 10 minutes from Wildcat Mountain State Park and the Kickapoo valley reserve where we went tubing. Exactly the beautiful yet comfortable camping trip we were looking for. Will definitely be back!

So cute! We stayed in the loft before a race at devils lake, besides having to walk a short ways to the restrooms it was really cozy and had lots of amenities for the price. Plus, pet friendly!

Weekend Trip to Bear Hill

Kevin and Sherri have provided such an excellent and comfortable space to spend some time just getting away from a busy life and re-learning to enjoy quality time together. They are available any time you need anything at all, which isn't often because they provide so much right from the start! My fiance and I truly had a wonderful long weekend and are already making plans for another visit just as soon as we can. I really can't properly express how easy and relaxing of a weekend this was for us, but I hope these words can help others come enjoy a stay as well!

We really enjoyed our weekend at the cabin. We had everything we needed. Karen was communicative and inquired if we would be able to arrive at night. The environment was quiet and very private. I would 100% recommend this place, and 100% we would come back!
