Situated on 36 acres, this working farm is 2 miles West of Taylors Falls. Dan bought this property with the intention of growing stone fruits (plums, peaches, apricots and cherries) using sustainable and organic practices because health and wellness matter to them! They are still in the process of improving their property. Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! Previously a 100 acre century farm, this fertile land was tended to by generations of old time farmers. Their dairy cows pastured in areas which we now graze sheep. The restored quarry provided gravel for the nearby highway restoration and local projects.The property is currently a mix of hay ground, cropland, pasture, forest, and quarry. Twin sisters, Darla and Kayla, and their families live across the road from each other and own the surrounding 140 acres. They keep busy planting/tending trees, making hay, moving fence for grazing animals, operating a farm business called Twin Folk Farms (pastured meat, camps, etc), and raising their families.Learn more about this land:- This site is at the edge of a restored quarry, sheep pasture, and wooded hillside.- The site is tucked down a flat mowed path, so it feels very private and protected. - You can hike up a path to the sheep pasture. Sometimes sheep are there, sometimes elsewhere on the farm. You can hike the other direction and check out the restored quarry. We have paths all around the property, so feel free to respectfully explore.- You can't see the highway from this site, but you can hear it. It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night. - We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite. You can also set up a time to come up to the farm and purchase meat. - The beautiful, historic town of Red Wing is 10 minutes from our farm. We loved "glamping" here! The cabin was adorable and had everything we needed. The location was perfect...secluded, yet so close to several gorgeous hiking spots. The stargazing was incredible. Our pups (one of whom is scared of other dogs and people) were so happy to have the seclusion. It was the perfect spot to spend our days hiking, and our nights being cozy in the cabin!

Dan greeted us warmly and offered our children the chance to pick an apple from his tree. His farm is gorgeous with vibrant sunsets and a quiet breeze through the grasses. We were very comfortable in the spacious tent and made a cozy bonfire both nights. We highly recommend staying here!

Weekend Trip to Rustic Log Cabin with Stunning View

The view of rolling hills, fields and forest was indeed lovely, especially with the Autumn colors. We loved the dark night sky, and could see all kinds of stars, milky way, meteors, satellites. The cabin is cozy and comfy and the beds were too! We enjoyed cooking over the fire outside, and using the propane griddle. Hosts are super warm, friendly and positive. Thank you for a lovely stay!

2 nights at Serenity Valley

We loved staying on Candace’s land! Our kids and dogs felt right at home. It was upscale tent camping. We had a great outdoor fire for breakfast, dinner, and s’mores and a great indoor fire to keep us warm on the cool fall nights. The beds were comfortable - especially when you’re used to a tent and a camping pad! And the house heated up so nicely. It was really nicely stocked - we normally bring tongs, spatula, etc. but there were some hung on the cabin which was a nice touch. It was really nice not to get service for a few days, enjoy the scenery, and bum around local towns. We’d absolutely stay again. ❤️

2 nights at Stone Creek Farm

I loved camping in Dan's yurt campsite! The walk from the car is perfect, just long enough to feel like you are really out there camping! The views walking to the bathroom in the fall were just gorgeous! Speaking of the bathroom don't be scared off by the composting toilet. Dan provides plenty of woodchips/sawdust to cover everything up and there is no odor! The bbq grill and bonfire ring are great to have options. The picnic table seats plenty of people. It rained a bit while we were there and everything in the tent stayed dry thanks to the extra plastic Dan has placed over the top of the yurt. Dan is so kind and generous and feels like going over to a friend's house to camp. Can't wait to return next year!

This little spot is very sweet and easy for newbie campers. The vintage trailer is truly a vintage gem, and you can see so many stars at night out in the countryside. I would recommend renting the RV versus tent camping mainly because there is a lot of car noise from being in such a flat area and sound traveling.

We head back to Stone Creek Farm every year. It's so beautiful there, and easy with tents already set up for you. With Franconia, Taylors Falls, and lots to do nearby, it's the perfect weekend getaway for us and our kids.

It is a bit of a trek to the campsite, but Danielle and Dan thoughtfully provided some helpful carts to haul your stuff back.

Dan is a wonderful host and owns some absolutely gorgeous land. I will be back! Be prepared for a small but beautiful hike out to your camp site. Bathrooms are as good as it gets, tents are huge and the bonus of not needing to setup is amazing, and the access to one of the most beautiful state parks is uncanny. If you have the legs for it I would absolutely recommend touring this area on bike. The descent into Taylor’s falls is one of the best in the state, the climb out of the city will have your legs woken up, and the nearby Swedish Immigrant Trail is beautiful especially in the Fall.

Loved our stay. It was a great escape for all of us. The what we assume is a dry creek was fun to wonder up as well as the paths I do warn that if you have a lower car you will have to park at the top of the hill and walk everything down to the site but its worth it.
