we have a great experience in the peaceful creek, and it was fantastic. The sound of the water at night made for the most relaxing sleep, and the tent itself was sturdy and kept us perfectly dry even with the morning mist. Highly recommend for anyone who loves nature and wants a cozy, reliable tent for an unforgettable outdoor experience! 🌿🏕️💧

Pansy and Ronnie went above and beyond to make us their largest group ever. Through a combination of tent campers and cabin dwellers we had a great July 4th here. Pansy was responsive along the way with gear questions and vehicle clarifications. We had a range of experience in our group from novice campers to backcountry veterans, and everyone was comfortable, and able to make it a good trip. We had a late night deer visitor one night. We are all spooked for a minute when we saw reflecting eyes in the trees. A great story to tell now. If you’re hiking in Dolly Sods, I think this is one of the best base camps you can ask for. The stove top worked seamlessly and as you can tell from their pics, there is a lot of cooking tools. We definitely brought more gear than we needed to. If your group is splitting up for the day, ask for a second key. They do keep things locked up at all times

2 nights at Barnum Cliffs Campground

We had a lovely stay. Campsites are in great condition, firewood is generous. At night, the woods looked like they were sparkling with all the fireflies. The location had easy access to a beautiful rail trail and Shaw beach at the nearby reservoir. The hosts were responsive and gave us some helpful recommendations.

My husband, dog, and I had a great weekend camping at Cedar Creek! We did battle some rain + thunderstorms that gave us a challenge (we were prepared for them in the forecast), but the hot sunny afternoons relaxing in the refreshing water (which was super clean and we used it as a water source with our filters) with a cold drink made it all worth it. Our dog also loved wading in the water, gave her the perfect way to cool off. The spot felt remote and we loved listening to the sounds of nature. We even saw a few Bald Eagles! Watching the crawdads in the creek was also very fun. David was very welcoming and communicated very well. He’s incredibly knowledgeable of his land and the surrounding area - even gave us recommendations on some happenings in town! He also kept us updated on the weather and any potential for flash flooding which was extremely helpful.

David is a phenomenal host! I got a little lost on the way to check in to meet him and he was very patient and helped me find my way! The site is amazing, quiet and secluded. The creek is so clean and a great place to splash! Bathroom is close by and very clean! 10/10 would and will camp again.

Fantastic two night stay at Grouseland. Appreciate the effort Mason and crew have put in to make this a top notch place to stay. Easy access to water and electric. Great views. Firewood at site. 8 nights at Carp Cove Farm

Ralph's property is so wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable. We have been coming here for over 7 years and we have always had a GREAT time! The site is so huge and being able to walk directly into the river to have fun and fish is a fabulous bonus. Fishing is amazing here! Ralph and his family are so warm and friendly, just like family!

Loved swimming in the river, because it was hot outside and the river cooled us down.

2 nights at Camp Cedar Creek

The location was perfect for a hot trip when it was time to sleep. We were in the shade and able to jump in the creek to cool off whenever. We went tubing several times to the forks and the walk was a really easy walk back to camp. This was a great offgrid location and Dave and Josh were readily available if we needed anything. Definitely worth it!

Very private primitive campground! Great view looking over the valley. The road to get up to the site was a dirt and rock road, but very doable with a Subaru or a small SUV. Good location and not too far from Seneca Rocks!

Weekend Trip to Nicholson’s Wonder Forest

Lovely site near the stream! Peaceful and private, we slept so well. About 5 min walk from parking spot and they provided a nice wagon to help haul stuff. Easy drive from DC. Nice amenities like a picnic table, a citronella candle, Coleman lantern, and portable toilet with wag bags provided - just BYO toilet paper. The site also had some trails and a pond where you could fish or kayak and some cute chickens! Mark was out of town but even from afar he was very helpful with recommendations for hikes and things to do and helping us get our bearings at the site. After all the rain we’ve had lately, was a bit muddy so bring boots. It is in the woods in the summer, so of course be vigilant about checking for ticks - i found a few on my dog and myself but nothing out of the ordinary.

From our glamp site, the only sound or sights was nature, even a deer (from a safe distance).Well shaded site and plenty of area close by for star gazing. EVERYTHING is provided, but food. My husband and I have been camping for the last 20+ yrs. And have also stayed in a variety of hotels and resorts. This has to be my favorite. Stephen is very friendly and helpful. Wonderful place to chill - and there are yummy whiskeys to sample.

Host David was convivial, responsive and attentive. Readily available. Our site #1, indeed ALL of the sites we saw, were pristine. The woods are unforested old growth trees, the exposed limestone bedrock of the creek walls were geologically interesting and access was as described. This stretch of Cedar Creek is very much like freestone creeks in PA. Site #1 (or 3) is ieal base camp to explore Cedar Creek up and down for a couple of days. Bring all weather gear just in case - and a jeep or truck. 100% chance my crew will be back.

Incredible time at campground 1 for our second time visiting. It is such a remote, quiet, peaceful site but still very close to great camping (Dolly Sods and Seneca Rock), climbing, swimming, and much more. Great camping bathroom set up, tons of land to space out, great fire pit, and occasional wildlife sightings. Still one of the best hipcamp finds I’ve ever had. Unless you are looking for lavish amenities, you will not find a more beautiful peaceful sight

The bearded recluse who ran the still, owned two mules, and an old car frame without a motor. Those mules would pull him through the hollow, and up into the mountains, where the revenuers never found him. Some say on a cold, moonlit night, they’ve seen his two old mules, pulling an old car frame past Camp Cedar Creek.

It is designed to be backed into with an RV and then pulled out of.
