We are less than a 1/4 mile from Maniac Mountain Haunted House, so you will hear the chainsaws, gun shots, and screams during the Sept-Nov time. We have 120 acres of wilderness you can explore. Be cautious of wildlife and look for WARNING signs. We have a private shooting range in the bottom fields of the property so you may hear gun shots April- September. The range is for our junior marksmanship program to practice for Nationals and local matches.
For winter months Oct-April water supply will be limited. A propane heater can be requested as well for the the yurt.

The Renovated Barn at Seneca Rocks is an actual barn, located on a little farm, complete with farm animals! Goats, chickens, peacocks, ducks, and a pig live at the other side of the barn. The Barn is located on a one acre lot, shared with the host's home. I give guests privacy while they are here, but I do come out to the barnyard twice a day to feed and tend the animals. The property is very close to many outdoor recreation areas such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Dolly Sods, and Canaan Valley where visitors can rock climb, hike, zipline, ski, etc, etc! *Adults aged 18 and older only, sorry no exceptions. Our property was a small family farm for several generations. Our family purchased the property about 18 years ago. Since we are not farmers but love living here, the question became "What would be the best use for the land?" Living in a scenic area and already being in the vacation rental business on some other family property answered the question. We decided to share the beautiful view and seclusion of our area with others.
Our goal was to keep the cost of building down so that we could pass on the savings to you so that you would not have to be rich to enjoy our lovely area. This inspired the idea of a glamping cabin. The cabin is actually a repurposed office building that was built about the time this property was purchased by our family. We moved it to the present location and completely remodelled it in 2018 and added the bathroom. For 4 years, guests enjoyed an off-the-grid experience.
In 2023, when we began work on the glamping dome (stay tuned--coming soon!!), we decided to add electricity, running water, and a hot tub to the tiny house!
We hope you enjoy the cabin (and, soon, the dome) and the stunning view from them as much as we enjoy sharing this beautiful spot with you!
Note: The Charming Glamping Cabin is at a totally different property. That property also has a section that used to be farmed. Now a lot of it is forest. We purchased the property around 2000. This cabin was built approx. 10 years later. At that point, the cabin was a tiny economy cabin with a sofa bed. However, it seemed most folks preferred comfort over economy, so in 2020, we added a bump-out to the side of the cabin so there would be room for a queen bed. Guests have loved the improvement. (:

Close to Snowshoe Mountain, at only 1 mile drive from the entrance to Snowshoe Mountain Resort.
This is a great spot for mountain bikers and river lovers. So close to snowshoe and affordable makes this an easy decision. Also the wildlife, flowers, and river on the property make this a truly powerful place. There is some traffic and noise from the road but it quiets down through the night and all you can hear is the trickle of the stream.
We have a lovely 20 acre are that has easy to pull up to camp sites and some that take a short walk but are able to camp right near the river bed. We're located between Davis, Parsons, and Elkins.
Dolly Sods, Canaan, Audra State Park, the Tygart River, the Cheat River, Seneca Rocks, and Tygart Lake are all a simple and scenic trip away.
The land itself is 10 acres. The main camp area is on flat field and approximately 4 acres.
Here is the secret recipe to this camp site:
It will be all yours! We only offer a single primitive site per night. There are no neighbors (at least the human kind) visible from anywhere on the main field. Very minimal light pollution. The stars are clearly visible on a clear night.
There are also no utilities. This includes water, electricity, or available enclosed shelters. Verizon and AT&T have strong signals in the field.
There is a metal carport that has a concrete pad along with a Porta John for privacy. There are also some storage buildings on site.
There is a gas station (Sheetz in Belington, WV) within 5 miles of the farm site and a Dollar General within 3 miles. Beyond that, Elkins has plenty of store options if you need supplies.
Interstate 79 is 32 miles away.
We are in the process of developing the far corner of the main field into an active hops farm and are members of a WV Co-Hop.
Again: this site is secluded and your group will be the only people there during your stay.
We will provide detailed directions when you make your reservation.
The driveway is steep and could cause issues for two wheel drive vehicles in winter. If it's rained extensively there could also be some muddy areas which we ask that you try to avoid.

We are less than a 1/4 mile from Maniac Mountain Haunted House, so you will hear the chainsaws, gun shots, and screams during the Sept-Nov time. We have 120 acres of wilderness you can explore. Be cautious of wildlife and look for WARNING signs. We have a private shooting range in the bottom fields of the property so you may hear gun shots April- September. The range is for our junior marksmanship program to practice for Nationals and local matches.
For winter months Oct-April water supply will be limited. A propane heater can be requested as well for the the yurt.

Our property was a small family farm for several generations. Our family purchased the property about 18 years ago. Since we are not farmers but love living here, the question became "What would be the best use for the land?" Living in a scenic area and already being in the vacation rental business on some other family property answered the question. We decided to share the beautiful view and seclusion of our area with others.
Our goal was to keep the cost of building down so that we could pass on the savings to you so that you would not have to be rich to enjoy our lovely area. This inspired the idea of a glamping cabin. The cabin is actually a repurposed office building that was built about the time this property was purchased by our family. We moved it to the present location and completely remodelled it in 2018 and added the bathroom. For 4 years, guests enjoyed an off-the-grid experience.
In 2023, when we began work on the glamping dome (stay tuned--coming soon!!), we decided to add electricity, running water, and a hot tub to the tiny house!
We hope you enjoy the cabin (and, soon, the dome) and the stunning view from them as much as we enjoy sharing this beautiful spot with you!
Note: The Charming Glamping Cabin is at a totally different property. That property also has a section that used to be farmed. Now a lot of it is forest. We purchased the property around 2000. This cabin was built approx. 10 years later. At that point, the cabin was a tiny economy cabin with a sofa bed. However, it seemed most folks preferred comfort over economy, so in 2020, we added a bump-out to the side of the cabin so there would be room for a queen bed. Guests have loved the improvement. (:

The land itself is 10 acres. The main camp area is on flat field and approximately 4 acres.

It will be all yours! We only offer a single primitive site per night. There are no neighbors (at least the human kind) visible from anywhere on the main field. Very minimal light pollution. The stars are clearly visible on a clear night.
There are also no utilities. This includes water, electricity, or available enclosed shelters. Verizon and AT&T have strong signals in the field.
There is a metal carport that has a concrete pad along with a Porta John for privacy. There are also some storage buildings on site.
There is a gas station (Sheetz in Belington, WV) within 5 miles of the farm site and a Dollar General within 3 miles. Beyond that, Elkins has plenty of store options if you need supplies.
Interstate 79 is 32 miles away.
We are in the process of developing the far corner of the main field into an active hops farm and are members of a WV Co-Hop.
Again: this site is secluded and your group will be the only people there during your stay.
We will provide detailed directions when you make your reservation.
The driveway is steep and could cause issues for two wheel drive vehicles in winter. If it's rained extensively there could also be some muddy areas which we ask that you try to avoid.

Great location! The falls right by the camp site made for great sleeping soundscapes and was fun to see behind our campfire. Seeing the cows in the morning was also a fun surprise. Will happily recommend and return!

Weekend Trip to Olde Tyme Cabins
The location was perfect! We felt secluded in our little camp and were able to hike up the hillside nearby. We loved the campfire with the lights strung around, and there were roasting sticks in one of the RV cubbies. The hot tub was amazing. We did get rained out of the hot tub, since there is no awning over it, but once the rain stopped, we were able to enjoy again. The master bed was comfortable, and the bunk beds have a curtain to keep lights out for later sleepers. We camped in mid-November and stayed warm and cozy the whole time. Our only complaint was the water. It never quite worked well enough to shower, and washing dishes was frustrating. We did let our hosts know, and they came quickly to work on it, which helped for a short while, but didn't last the duration.

So calming and a good place to sleep! We were just spending the night but would be a great place to spend a weekend. Sweet cats greet you, also ducks and chickens. Fridge, microwave, and coffee pot available. Enclosed bathroom with shower and toilet inside. Great little diner down the road! Just be advised there is no signal there or the surrounding area. The wifi works well for the TV but not great for cellphones.

We loved camping on Wade’s Spearmint Patch! There was so much to explore in the surrounding area and we truly felt at peace. We didn’t know how much we needed the chance to completely disconnect and slow down. Seneca Rocks was incredible and we hope to be back!

I had a great time camping in the pasture, the night sky was so open and clear and full of stars. I appreciated that you can see the Community Center from any of the campgrounds so you can make your way there to use the toilets and showers.

Really enjoyed the the camp! Its nice and quiet back behind the rocks and not far from the main trail head to the top of seneca rocks or the stores in town. Would definitely love to come back sometime. Wade was there to meet and greet us with the firewood already stacked and ready to go. Greatly appreciated his kindness and hospitality.

Fourth Moon Camp was perfect. Nice and secluded but only a few minutes drive to a couple historic general stores with restaurants and everything you'd need. The Camp is literally right behind Seneca Rocks on a private property with amazing views. Wade was kind enough to stock us up with more than enough firewood and was super helpful prior to and during our arrival. We are already making plans to return!

My partner & I tent camped on Amber’s land at the site near the beaver dam!
Amber was very kind & came to check on us. Our spot was very quiet & peaceful ~ plus the stars put on a beautiful show at night! We were briefly visited by a cow & enjoyed listening to the birds that flew by.
Definitely a Hipcamp worth checking out ~ I would love to return & stay the night in one of the small lodging spots, the property had a lot to explore & much to offer.

My friends and I had a great time at Cabin 3! The hosts were quick to respond to our inquiries, and the staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin can comfortably fit more than four people and still has plenty of space to move around. Both the indoor and outdoor bathrooms were clean. It’s the best place to relax, unwind, and enjoy good company. Highly recommend!

Spearmint Patch was a great little spot! We stayed during the fall and the foliage was beautiful. Our pups had an awesome time being able to be off leash. But hands down, you can’t beat the proximity of this campsite from the Seneca Rocks trails. Would definitely recommend to others interested in hitting the trail during their stay. The road did have more traffic than expected, but it seems like that was just the timing due to a project being done further up the roadway.

Lovely, quiet spot! Our family rented bikes and had a lot of fun out on the trail system. The community center was a nice covered place to get out of the rain. We also spent a day visiting some other interesting local spots - cool distilleries and an historic farmstead. We hope to be back soon!!

We had a great weekend at the Creekside Hollow site- a long and rolling space with plenty of room for 4 tents to spread out and have private spaces- could easily have accommodated a couple more tents. Wade was great, very communicative and proactive. I’d advise to get all your ducks in a row before getting to the site as cell service cuts out outside of town. I will definitely be back!
