Mid-June update: Firefly season is here and it looks to be another good year, although we havent seen biblical numbers like the past years yet. Soon? Under next week's full moon?? The river is at about 85% peak summer quality this week. Very warm and ready for lounging, floating or kayaking.
A few details about our sites in the general camping area: Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10,11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6,7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others.
Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended.
We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans
4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events.
Please pre-order firewood and/or shade sails via a message to me when booking your stay and save the 18% "booking fee" or add them via the "extras" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well-seasoned hardwood. Cash venmo paypal zelle all accepted upon arrival. If ordering firewood using the "extra" feature, 1 load is $20.00 which is a 1/2 nights supply. Order 2 if you want a full night/morning supply. This was such a great trip! We had to reschedule twice for weather and it was no problem. We came on a Sunday when few folks were there and Greg upgraded us to a site right next to the path to the water. (Site 8) we enjoyed the water and being on the C&O and definitely want to bring our bikes next time. A great place to take a group - lots of space and easy hosts. Provided great campfire wood and two camp cats to hang out with!

Our favorite ever! My son is 8, and this camping experience was our favorite setup. I wish we could have done more than 2 nights! Very close to public access streams, great downtown, and the Cacapon state park!

Taylors Landing exceeded our expectations. It sits alongside the beautiful Potomac which is amazing for paddleboarding. Theres also a 180 mile trail for hiking and biking. Greg was a great host and has a gem of a property. Highly recommend.

My dog and I had the best time at this spot! Greg was a fantastic and attentive host. We ended up staying at site 11 on top of the hill which had a gorgeous view and was very easy to get in and out of. The property was also very easy to find using the address and directions Greg provides in the arrival instructions. We walked down to where the kayaks and water access point is, and walked the trail a bit. It was a rainy first night/morning but the second night we got to see a beautiful display of fireflies. The port-a-potty was also very clean and well maintained. We also took advantage of how close we were to wineries, breweries, and about a half hour drive to go explore Harper’s Ferry. I could not recommend this site enough!

I paid for the shade sail and for firewood, totally worth it. Greg even brought us a lot of water. I would definitely go again. And I definitely recommend.
