Welcome to Our Homestead Campground! Our secluded 80-acre farm is nestled in a valley between three mountains, where two babbling creeks meet—over two miles from the nearest residence. We raise chickens, ducks, and pigs while practicing permaculture and organic farming, using solar energy for parts of our operation. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our hideaway with modern conveniences like electricity and internet. We’re happy to share our homestead lifestyle or simply provide a quiet place for you to relax. Camp at the Main Circle near our home trailer, cabana, and bonfire area, with access to electricity and Wi-Fi. For a more rustic experience, Kolb Field offers a peaceful spot along Coon Creek, shaded by a majestic walnut tree. You’re also welcome to camp almost anywhere on the property to find your perfect spot. A lightly traveled public dirt road runs through our property. While an SUV or 4x4 is recommended, regular cars can access the site, and we have parking for standard vehicles. Please check with us in advance if you plan to bring an RV. Our farm is a great destination for overland camping—perfect for getting your truck a little dirty! We are cautiously dog-friendly. Our farm dogs patrol the property to protect our free-roaming animals, so visiting dogs must be well-behaved, leashed, and comfortable around other animals. If you're unsure about compatibility, please reach out for advice. Our dogs will come to your camp to "check you out". If your dog has a problem with other dogs that are new to them you must let us know so we can control our dogs. We have had people come with problem dogs and not tell us so, we are asking for a $1 extra that we now require as a pet fee. While you're here, visit our local businesses in Gassaway. At Bigfoot Braxxie's Bikes, you can rent a bike and explore the 40-mile Elk River Rail Trail. Trailhead Farm Meats & More offers our farm-raised, all-natural meats and other local products. For instant or same-day bookings, please note that we may not always be available to respond immediately, but our directions are accurate. If you don’t hear from us right away, you’re still welcome to come and enjoy your stay. We look forward to hosting you and sharing the beauty of our homestead!

The Renovated Barn at Seneca Rocks is an actual barn, located on a little farm, complete with farm animals! Goats, chickens, peacocks, ducks, and a pig live at the other side of the barn. The Barn is located on a one acre lot, shared with the host's home. I give guests privacy while they are here, but I do come out to the barnyard twice a day to feed and tend the animals. The property is very close to many outdoor recreation areas such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Dolly Sods, and Canaan Valley where visitors can rock climb, hike, zipline, ski, etc, etc! *Adults aged 18 and older only, sorry no exceptions. The property is pet friendly for a charge of $10 per pet, per night (to be left in cash on departure). In the Barn is a Queen Bed, sitting area, TV with Netflix, Bathroom with hot water, and small cooking area (coffee maker, microwave, electric kettle, electric stovetop, toaster, and small refrigerator.) Our property was a small family farm for several generations. Our family purchased the property about 18 years ago. Since we are not farmers but love living here, the question became "What would be the best use for the land?" Living in a scenic area and already being in the vacation rental business on some other family property answered the question. We decided to share the beautiful view and seclusion of our area with others. Our goal was to keep the cost of building down so that we could pass on the savings to you so that you would not have to be rich to enjoy our lovely area. This inspired the idea of a glamping cabin. The cabin is actually a repurposed office building that was built about the time this property was purchased by our family. We moved it to the present location and completely remodelled it in 2018 and added the bathroom. For 4 years, guests enjoyed an off-the-grid experience. In 2023, when we began work on the glamping dome (stay tuned--coming soon!!), we decided to add electricity, running water, and a hot tub to the tiny house! We hope you enjoy the cabin (and, soon, the dome) and the stunning view from them as much as we enjoy sharing this beautiful spot with you! Note: The Charming Glamping Cabin is at a totally different property. That property also has a section that used to be farmed. Now a lot of it is forest. We purchased the property around 2000. This cabin was built approx. 10 years later. At that point, the cabin was a tiny economy cabin with a sofa bed. However, it seemed most folks preferred comfort over economy, so in 2020, we added a bump-out to the side of the cabin so there would be room for a queen bed. Guests have loved the improvement. (: Please read the individual site descriptions for more information on each of our listings.

Property once owned by my grandparents, beef & dairy farm. Now turned into vegetable garden and small gift shop with seasonal market. High on a hill with breathtaking views. Sunsets and sunrises often seen and photos taken by many guests. Mostly grass with some gravel areas. Plenty of space for dogs to run and play. We do have free range chickens so make sure you specify in your request if you have pets or not. Thanks!!!!

John Denver knew there was something special about West Virginia and today you can let those country roads take you home to Monongahela National Forest! A super lush and diverse forest awaits hikers and bikers at Smoke Hole Canyon, where a misty morning fog will greet you along the river. Spruce Knob and Seneca Rocks are highly skilled routes for rock climbers wanting a challenge or photographers wanting that perfect panoramic shot! Fish or canoe down the Potomac or meander down the Highland Scenic Byway, there are plenty of campgrounds or overnight forest adventures to keep you here til the moonshine has run dry! Monongahela produces a special kind of mountain majesty, bring your mountain mama self out and explore for yourself!

In 2008, we built the first cabin on this property. We really enjoyed hosting guests so we built two more cabins on the same property! Our latest addition is a glamping tent! We love people and find joy in the mission of giving weary travelers a comfortable place in nature to relax and rejuvenate. Life gets pretty taxing at times, we know! Spending time in nature with a loved one is the perfect medicine for a stressed soul. We have two listings available: Cozy Cottage by Monongahela Forest and What Camping Should Be! Please read each individual site description for more information on each site and their amenities.

In the Barn is a Queen Bed, sitting area, TV with Netflix, Bathroom with hot water, and small cooking area (coffee maker, microwave, electric kettle, electric stovetop, toaster, and small refrigerator.) There is also a gas grill on the deck. All towels & Linens, and Basic kitchenware included.

Glamping on Timber Ridge

Our property was a small family farm for several generations.

Fourth Moon Camp is uniquely located on private land located "behind" (east of) Seneca Rocks. We offer camping, trails, group bookings, events, and slackline/treenet experiences; all with more privacy and wilderness than a campground! We only accept visitors with reservations, and do not offer drop-in camping. Please note that Roy Gap Road and access to our campsites requires snow tires and/or chains in winter months. You can message us ahead of time if you'd like to set up a private, guided experience, such as a hike, workshop, or adventure.
