The land's history has included use as pasture, orchards, and flower farm. It's currently identified as a USDA type silvopasture farm. The priority crop is growing native fir trees that will be harvested in 60+ years as telephone poles. During this time, the land will be grazed by a variety of livestock balanced to keep fields and animals healthy and productive.
The current owners purchased the farm fall of 2023 from a family estate that owned it since the 1970s. It is considered a legacy project as work progresses to Firewise the land in support of old growth native trees and maximum summer shade for salmon.
During the 2025 grazing season, the NE pasture of 5 acres along the river fed 8 Katahdin Sheep. In Spring 2026, bison, cattle, and goats will be moving into the SE pasture of 7 acres that climbs the mountain along the west border.

Exquisitely beautiful area formed by melting glaciers forming the "Alta Coulee". The campground is situated at the South end of Alta Lake, opened in 1946 and operated by my Grandparents until 1980, when my father decided to continue operations adding Outfitting and Guide services into the Pasayten and Sawtooth Wilderness areas. This property is a great camp for enjoying everything that Eastern Washington outdoors has to offer. The Columbia river is in the valley below which provides fishing and watersports. The property is adjacent to thousands of acres of State and federal land which are free to explore. Winter tends to bring significant snowfall which makes this a great destination for winter sports as well. The property sits on top of a mountain plateau known as Harmony Heights. The site is about a 20 minute drive to Brewster or Pateros and about 40 minutes to Lake Chelan. This is an fairly large site and will accommodate two RV's as well as plenty of area for tent camping. There is plenty of good spots to play with dogs without any conflicts. Despite the existence of year round residences and cabins this area is still very wild so you have a chance of an encounter with any critter that is native to the forests and prairies of North Central Washington. This includes but is not limited to the occasional bull snake, rattle snake, badger, black bear, mule deer, whitetail deer, moose, coyote, wolf, mountain lion, bobcat, as well as all kinds of birds including blue birds, hawks, owls, turkey, chukar, ravens, Hungarian partridge, quail, and forest grouse. Bring a field guide you will be happy you did.

Choose your perfect spot from 8 different sites (power and water) in the campground. Each site used is $75. No need to choose site beforehand, just book and you can choose your site once you arrive as your party will be the only ones there to enjoy the great outdoors! After Memorial Day, there is a porta potty on site. There is a large firepit (when there isn’t a fire ban. Please do not use the already cut fire wood, that is our personal stash)There are trails all over for walking or there are trailheads just a short drive away if you want to hike. The river is a 30 second-1 minute walk from the campsite. Perfect area to pitch a hammock and enjoy the sounds of nature. The campground is 5 miles away from the Mazama Store which sells amazing food (sandwiches, pastries, cookies, and the famous Sea Salt Baguettes). There is also a portable basketball hoop and a tether ball pole. Group rates available. OCTOBER and MAY campers: There is no water, however you are still welcomed to camp.

This cabin was so cozy. We stayed for a couple nights over Christmas and it was lovely. The cabin is very private with amazing views of the meadow and mountains. We absolutely utilized the kitchen, the available board games , and the surrounding landscape for snowshoeing. The central wood burning stove (plus the little portable heater we brought) kept the cabin a cozy temperature. We would for sure stay here again. Our traveling cat also had a lovely time!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at this cabin . It was littlery everything i was looking for , for our adventure together. Our two dogs loved it to . There was a recent snow so it was like a winter wonderland , time went so slow on top of the mountain which made it even better. They have all of the basic camping kitchen supplies multiple beds, plenty of firewood and acres to explore. When we had a question joy was really quick with responding and kind. Overall we would defenatly come back to stay again in the winter.

My bf and I celebrated our anniversary this November at Joy's cabin. At first I considered moving our trip to the spring, but I *so loved* being in the wind and rain in a cozy cabin indoors. The remote location is absolutely magical. I would definitely try to get to the cabin before dark; barring that, make sure to have multiple offline versions of the directions: 1) Google Maps directions and map screenshots to the destination, and 2) Joy's written directions. She was very proactive and communicative via satellite phone when we were lost at night. Thanks again Joy for trusting us with your family's private home.

We had a great time at the cabin. The sunrise and sunsets were amazing from the view off of the porch. We had the wood stove going and made the cabin nice and cozy. We will definitely be wanting to get back up there.

What a delightful stay we had at the Meadow Cabin. Our 4 night, 5 day stay was exactly what we needed. The fact that there is no wifi or cell service was a total blessing! The cabin is a great place to disconnect from the noise and I was able to relax deeply and reconnect with myself and my wife. I smiled more. Slept more. Rested more. Took gentle, ambling walks. I actually read for almost a whole day and ended up finishing an amazing 900+ page book—something I haven't done in years.
Our dogs loved it! Watching the cows was like a meditation. The colors and the weather shifted and changed throughout our stay, with a downpour with hail clearing much of the smoke from a southerly fire. So peaceful.
The peace and quiet at the Meadow Cabin seems a rarity these days. We will definitely be back. It is an inspiring stay for sure.

Lovely spot to camp. Great view and with it being late September was able to enjoy the lovely smells coming from the Orchard. We had a slightly anxious dog who does not do well with other people or animals so it was a perfect spot for her to enjoy her first camping trip.
A small picnic table is provided and we brought an extra 6 foot table which helped with placing all our food items and portable grill.
Convenient spot for local wineries and to access Lake Chelan. Hope to return soon.

My sister and I absolutely loved it here! My dog as well. We spent most of the time on the porch. Was great to drink wine with a relaxing beautiful view. I expected it to be cold inside in the morning, but the cabin kept in the heat without needing to start a fire. My family grew up in a place like this, so it brought back so many great memories. This is a place I’ll come back to.

Great location with stunning views. It's definitely up there, and the road initially feels a little sketchy, but don't let that scare you. I was easily able to tow a 30ft trailer up no problem, and Chris came right out to assist and asked if I needed anything! Being so high, be prepared for wind, but if you get a night with no wind, the sunset views are amazing! I would definitely stay at these sites again!

Awesome spot! Really quiet and spacious. We had a minor issue when we arrived but Mariah responded to my message and had it taken care of promptly. We brought our own toilet set-up and my friend was kindly informed by staff that the tasting room bathroom isn’t encouraged for campers. There is an outhouse nearby though. Willow Point is a great place to go for a swim in Lake Chelan and is a 9 min drive from the site.
