Dream Acres Homestead

Welcome to my property that sits below the Goldendale Observatory. In fact, there are hiking trails right behind (to the east) the property that will take you right up to the State Park. From April to September, the Observatory is open Thursday-Sunday from 3pm-5pm for the Solar Show and from 9pm-Midnight for the Evening Show. More information is on their website or through Washington State Parks website. My dream at 8 years of age was to have my horse in my own backyard. This dream finally came true when I moved out to Central Washington in 2017. Over the years I have had bunnies, chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, Scottish Highlands and, of course, my horse Tigger. Due to major life changes, Tigger and the Highlands are the only animals (other than dogs & cats) on the property. By the end of the summer, it will only be my horse. Situated on the outskirts of town and on the West side of Observatory Hill, Goldendale has the ONLY public observatory in the Pacific Northwest. It was built in 1973 and received a major renovation in 2019/2020. Both the town and Klickitat county have light ordinances aimed at protecting the dark sky that have been in place since the early 1980s. Seeing all of the stars, and many times planets, are just breathtaking. If it's a full moon night or even nearly full moon, it lights up the sky. I love my little oasis, and I love to share it with others. As a friendly reminder, if you bring your vehicle onto our property it could be scratched from hooves or horns. The animals are curious and will want to checkout the new things in their pasture. This Spring/Summer season (2024) my youngest sister, Hannah, is spending the summer with her little ones (6yo & 4yo), so she will be your main contact.

I have been coming to Packwood every summer since the 90's and as it was well before Hipcamp, would camp in campgrounds or stay in local motels. I finally decided buying a piece of property would make sense. I had driven by this property several times over the years, but didn't set foot on it until after I had purchased it. I only removed older dead/dying trees , then planted new trees and bushes in hopes of keeping the property in a more natural state. The trail through the property on the river side was made by Elk passing through, which is why that area remains un-fenced. The property is located in a High Valley Country Club neighborhood and only a few miles from the town of Packwood. Learn more about this land: Bring your trailer, camper or motor home (and a tent if you like) then relax and enjoy a park like setting with hookups - water, power (50, 30 and 20 amp service) and Wi-Fi. NO TENT CAMPING ONLY. There is NOT a bathroom on the property. Tents must be in conjunction with an RV that has a indoor toilet/shower (no outdoor showering). Wi-Fi on the property makes staying connected easy. There is fire pit (washer drum) and free chopped wood for campfires. There is a park style charcoal BBQ grill for guest use (guests will need to supply their own charcoal). Located in a High Valley Country Club (HVCC) neighborhood, the property is one lot from Cowlitz river access. Swimming (Memorial Day through Labor Day) and golf are close by at the HVCC, which is about 1.5 miles away from the property. The property is close to Packwood (3.5 mi) where you will find groceries, restaurants, pizza, and The Goat (Mountain Goat Coffee Company). There are also two micro breweries, Packwood Brewing Co. and Longmire Springs and food trucks near both. Packwood (Skate Creek) State Park in only 2 miles from the property. I bought my land in 1999. Back then I was the only one living on Austin rd past the end of the county road. Austin rd was still a gravel road then and so was Hanging Rock rd. Learn more about this land: Pitch a tent, bring your RV or something in between. Hunting fishing hiking relaxing in the trees. You can stay here and explore the Columbia river gorge, Mt Adams or Mt Hood, or head to the Yakima valley. Lots of deer and turkeys and other forest animals. Walli sturgeon and salmon are just some of the fish you can catch in the Columbia river or the Klickitat river. Pick huckleberries on the side of Mt Adams. Listen to the wind blowing in the tree tops as you rest and nap in the sun or shade. Territorial views and just 6 miles to town-close enough for beer and ice cream in the middle of the night( Sentry market open till 10pm). Maryhill museum is about 25 miles away. Biggs junction and I84 are just 20 miles and highway 97 is only 4 miles away, Toppenish wa is only 55 miles up north highway 97. Room for turning around big rv’s. Bring your grill and lawn chairs, mountain bikes or recumbents, Fence panels available for a temp dog kennel-limited availability. , No porta potties on site at this time. The guest bathroom accessed through the back door of the mobile home is available for use you will need to bring your own towels, soap ect. Right now there is wifi available at the mobile home by starlink. we hope to be able to extend it to the green pole barn building in the near future. Garbage can be dropped off down by the mobile home in closed garbage bags. At this time you will need to bring your own firewood and grills. Hope to have fire wood for purchase next year as well as fire pits/grills on site. Some rolling terrain, lots of flat spots for camp. The road in is a little rough but my Audi TT doesn't have trouble except when the snow melts and turns into slush. Lots of privacy because the county road does not run past my place and each camp site is aprox 1.5 acres each so you have room for social distancing and privacy or you can find a spot that looks good to you and make your own camp. Located 1/2 mile off of the paved county road. only 3 neighbors within half a mile( the trees are thick enough you probably won't see them ever). Burn ban in effect June 1st till October 1st.

Learn more about this land: The property makes a great base camp for exploring the area. Our site is designed for one party but will accommodate an additional 2 RV’s. This is the perfect spot for family and friends to get together. This property has three 30 amp 120 volt receptacles one for each RV/pay per hookup/per night. As there are NO bathroom facilities on the property, tents MUST be in conjunction with an RV that has an indoor toilet/shower (no outdoor showering). NO TENT ONLY camping. Located in High Valley Country Club (HVCC) neighborhood, Golf at the HVCC, which is about 500ft away from the property, Guest Fees are $40.00 including Holidays or Swim-Guest Fees are $10.00 and Holidays are double. Let me know if you want to be registered as guests to use these facilities. The property is close to Packwood (4.5 mi) where you will find groceries, restaurants, pizza, The Goat (Mountain Goat Coffee Company) and two breweries. There are several hiking choices. There are hiking trails and public access to the Cowlitz River. Visit skatecreekpark.org for more information. Goat Rocks Wilderness and Mt. Rainier trails are a short drive away. During the winter months, White Pass ski area and snowmobile parks, Sno-Park Skate Creek and Sno-Park Orr Creek are in the area.

Rural farm camp in Yakima's west valley. This relaxed campsite is bordered by fruit orchards and farms on a very quiet dead end road. Over two acres of field grass surrounding by rolling hills with views of farms, cows, horses, and the eastern foothills of the Cascade mountains. There is a 1/2 acre pond on the camp property with frogs, turtles, wild birds and wild ducks and geese drop in all the time. Very quiet and peaceful out here, the frogs will sing you to sleep and that's about the only sound you will hear. There is power and water hooks up at 2 of 3 camp sites. Two large and level RV spots are graveled and can accommodate your 5th wheel, diesel pusher, trailer or toy hauler. The third RV/camp spot is grass but also large and level. This grass spot is dry camping but water is available from nearby spigot and a generator is also available for rent at $20/night. Forgot your wood? No problem, firewood is always available $ 5.00/bundle. There are fire rings at each site for your use (unless burn ban in effect) Camp host always has plenty of S'mores supplies (complimentary of course) for that campfire treat. :) Visit our hen house! We have laying hens with fresh eggs daily for your breakfast. Bring the kids, wooden play structure and swing set are ready for family fun. Plenty of fun activities are only a short drive from the campsite! Winter access is easy, county road to entrance of Hipcamp is plowed by county road crews and as host I have tractor 🚜 to plow the camp area prior to your arrival. Snowmobiles are welcome in winter and you get a reduced nightly rate. Ride and play in the snow around the camp property or drive 20 minutes to foothills with trails and forestry roads open to sleds. Bring the whole group, plenty of room on this property for as many as 20 rigs and trailers.

While you feel like you've stepped away from it all, you're still just a few miles away from the amenities of Packwood, including shopping, restaurants, gas, etc. Fall asleep to the soft sounds of nearby Butter Creek, and wake up to fresh forest air. Some guess have reported that using slide outs leaves little to no room to walk past the slide outs without having to walk off the driveway; if your vehicle has slide outs this may not be an ideal location for your vacation.
