Before you book a reservation at the Moose, there are a few things you should know. Our hope, and the reason we opened Lost Moose Campground, is that our guests would have a friendly and fun atmosphere away from life's hustle and bustle where everyone has the opportunity to relax, enjoy nature, and explore north Idaho with their family and friends. Our campground is remote and it does take a little more time and effort to get here. While most of our guests repeatedly tell us it's totally worth it and it's just what they were looking for, others have let us know that they would prefer to be closer to the Interstate and the amenities of "civilization." We just want everyone to be happy! So, before you book a reservation, we want you to know a few things about our campground that way you'll know just what to expect when you stay at the Moose! • Lost Moose Campground is located 8 miles south of Interstate 90. Getting here includes 6 miles of gravel road that can be a little bumpy at times throughout the year. • There's no cell service or wifi at the campground. A landline is available for emergencies and cell service can be found often when traveling nearby roads and trails. • Due to our proximity to Latour Creek we do not have sewer hookups or a dump station. All RV Sites are equipped with power and water hookups and toilets and hot showers are available. • The nearest grocery store is approximately 12 miles away, the nearest gas station 11 miles, nearest dump station 11 miles, and the nearest restaurant is about 12 miles away. It takes about 45 minutes to reach Coeur d'Alene or Wallace. • Latour Creek provides a great place for kids and adults alike to cool off in the summer, but it is not suitable for kayaking or floating. The Coeur d'Alene River is only 8 miles away and is well suited for those activities. • Crystal Lake trailhead is approximately 12 miles above the campground and is accessible by car. The Mirror Lake trailhead is also accessed about 12 miles above the campground, but includes a narrow jeep road that isn't suitable for vehicles not designed for off-roading. • The Trail of the Coeur d'Alene's bike trail parking area is 8 miles from the campground at the junction of Latour Creek and I-90. • ATV's can be ridden from the campground. There are no formal maps of our area, but we are happy to help give directions and suggestions for great places to ride. SO MANY THINGS TO DO Most of our guests come stay with us to get away in the wild. When you are out and about on the trails, chances are you'll see moose, elk and deer - if you're lucky you may even see a bear! It's a real rarity when we hit the trails and don't see at least one of the above! • IN CAMP Play in the river, do some fishing in the creek, play horseshoes and corn hole, eat ice cream, explore the surrounding area, relax, build a campfire, etc. • FROM CAMP Enjoy access to hundreds of miles of ATV/UTV trails directly from camp. Take off upstream or downstream and fish all day. Huckleberry picking in season only a few miles away! • OUTSIDE CAMP Bike trails, kayaking or floating the river, fishing, water parks, theme parks and area attractions. Fun urban adventures are within an hour of the campground! • SILVER MOUNTAIN Try mountain biking in the region's best lift served bike park, go for a scenic gondola ride, hike to the fire lookout on Kellogg Peak or just settle in for some huckleberry ribs and listen to live music at the mountain house grill. How about a round of mountain golf at Galena Ridge, or grab some pavement bikes from Silver Mountain Sports and hit the 72 mile bike path that runs right by our parking lot. Silver Rapids, Idaho's largest indoor waterpark, takes weather out of the equation by creating a perfect 84 degree, football field-sized location to splash, swim and surf on the perfect wave! The sky is the limit at Silver Mountain! • THINGS TO DO IN COEUR D'ALENE There’s something for everyone in Coeur d’Alene. Area activities and attractions range from the free and family-friendly to thrilling outdoor adventures—and just about everything in-between. Summer in Coeur d’Alene is filled with epic attractions! Parasail rides, zip-lining, boating, float planes and of course the northwest’s largest theme park! Legend has it Bing Crosby sang in the barn himself after a long summer bucking bales in Cheney. We are close to Turnbull Wildlife Park and a few local fishing lakes: badger lake, williams lake, and amber lake. The town of Cheney is a great place to stock up and bicycle the fish lake trail.

The property, aptly named the Oasis years ago, is 34-acres of lawns, shade trees, ponds, and natural landscaping over 50 years in the making. The landscaping was started by Tom who still lives in the farmhouse. The Schierman family has owned this property for four generations. The Oasis is located in the rolling hills of the Palouse in eastern Washington State. The newly created Yonder Hills Disc Golf Course is a full 18 and 9-basket short course with long and short pads for almost every basket. A mix of open lawn, wooded fairways, water hazards, and elevation changes await. Day, overnight or weekly reservations must be made to enjoy this private course. The disc golf course is under construction with some layout changes and getting ready for paver tees instead of rubber. It's playable but it isn't perfect yet. We had to shift focus to the barn restoration grant to meet the June 2026 deadline, so fair warning, there is likely to be some construction ongoing. This is a perfect basecamp to explore the Palouse countryside. Relax in the shade. Catch up on creativity. Cook around the fire. Disc golf anytime. Guests may bring their own private fire pits. Firewood is provided for the community fire pit. Yonder Hills can be reserved for larger group camps and private camping events. There is plenty of room for several vehicles and tailgate camping. Please contact us to request a reservation for a reunion, wedding, private party, disc golf tournament, or concert. There are no dedicated electrical hookups, sewage hookups, or potable water available at this time. Bottled or bulk water is available in in St. John five miles away. Electrical outlets can be used to charge small devices. We are constantly upgrading the property, so look forward to better amenities as we grow. St. John has a bar/restaurant, grocery store, hardware stores, gas station, 2 hotel rooms, library, coffee and gift shops as well as a very nice 9-hole traditional golf course. There are numerous small towns, unique lakes, rivers/creeks, backroads, viewpoints, and historic stops around the Palouse region as well as amazing photography year round. Come for the abundant stars, the fall colors and brisk air, to socialize with other travelers, or to find the peace of the Palouse country.

Weekend Trip to Little Hawk Landing

We had a great stay here with our camper last weekend. We stayed in Site B, one of the two full-hookup RV sites on the property. The sites are separated by a patch of trees, which provides plenty of privacy and space so you don't feel crowded. Site B also faces the cabin, but we still felt like we had our own area. The sites were very large and made it very easy to maneuver a camper. The owners have clearly put a lot of time and effort into the property, with thoughtful landscaping and nice touches throughout. The pond even has a sandy area that was brought in, creating a pleasant spot to relax by the water. While swimming in the pond wasn't something we chose to do, others may enjoy it, and it would likely be great for dogs. The campground had everything we needed and more, and the owners were very responsive whenever we had questions. If you're looking for a clean, well-maintained campground with full hookups and a peaceful atmosphere, I would highly recommend staying here.

Our experience at Rachael's place was thoroughly enjoyable. Beautiful, quiet farmland; fun to watch horses and cows, and listen to birds. Rachael was an excellent host.

Weekend Trip to Blended Roots farms

Quail run was a peaceful place to stay the night. We booked day of to tent camp with three little kids and enjoyed that the only sounds at night were the occasional car and train in the distance. We heard turkeys, doves and song birds during the day. There were plenty of spots to pitch a tent, a picnic table, trash can and hose. There was some shade as the sun started to go down. I would recommend bringing a shade tent and we brought our own luggable loo as we knew there would be no toilet. There’s a nice playground and sports complex less than a mile away to the northwest. We recommend for an easily accessible spot not too far from recreation areas outside Spokane!

I loved camping here at Mica Valley Ranch! Nothing but great things to say! The owners are extremely friendly and helpful! The views are beautiful and the environment with the cows, chickens, horse and donkey makes for a great trip! I would 100% recommend.

5 nights at Crooks Lookout

We always have an amazing stay at Crooks Lookout! We have been repeat customers over the last four years and will continue to come for many more. We especially love having full hookups, along with the on-property bath and shower—such a conscience. We also enjoy the fire pit and supplies of firewood. The views are amazing. Travis, the property owner, is fantastic—always super responsive and helpful if we need anything. Highly recommend this Hipcamp!

3 nights at Wheat and Beans

The spot is really just perfect. Well kept, fairly level spot on gravel with full hookups which is a nice perk for a hip camp spot. The view is absolutely gorgeous. The weather was cold and windy, but even in our hybrid trailer, we were plenty comfortable. Nicholas, the host, was easy to communicate with and super nice. I wish we'd been able to stay longer but I would come back for sure. Highly recommend!
