Great first camping experience, felt like real camp experts! Good communication with host and everything was easily accessible except drive up was a little tough but manageable. Had plenty of space for our pups to stretch and run around. Close to many activities we went a couple beaches and to Olympic national forest! Overall great time :))

This is the second time we've stayed here and we always have so much fun. The upgrades are amazing and our friends really love the yurts. Cant wait to stay again next year :)

We loved our stay. The facility was clean and the bed was comfortable. An added plus was the cooking stuff( nice BBQ and coleman stove. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. We will certainly be returning.

The tent was an amazing getaway! In the summer it is the perfect temperature- but the propane for heating would be essential in the colder months. So fun and romantic as a weekend getaway!

1 night at Hidden Meadow Retreat

The stargazer tent was absolutely amazing! The road to the camp was easy to navigate, and the land coming up to the yurt was so beautiful to look at. It’s definitely worth taking a short walk to the lake/river at the back. The yurt itself was so clean and tidy, with helpful instructions dotted around e.g. how to work the heater and the power generator. The toilets and washroom were clean, we didn’t use the shower or hot tub but these also looked great. We met Jake shortly after arriving, he was lovely and welcoming. Bonus points for meeting Wilma (one of the doggies) she was so well behaved! We would definitely stay here again, wish we could have stayed here longer.

1 night at Ravens Ridge

I enjoyed camping at Owl's Nest campsite- it was a quick overnight stay after hiking so I didn't make use of the provided kitchen facilities, but it was all set up nice and conveniently. The outdoor shower was so sweet, and the tent site very private, not far from the bathroom and just so nice to relax in after a long day...It's small but I didn't need anything more than a bed- the sounds of the forest easily lulled me to sleep. The directions were clear and easy, and it was nice being off grid for a bit, the peace was much needed and appreciated...

1 night at Hidden Meadow Retreat

This is a magical property. I went on a long early-morning walk and saw deer, rabbits, eagles and herons. Jake and Molly have the place beautifully set up with hundreds of little touches to keep you on your toes, like gnomes dotting the trails and handmade benches with views of the inlet. All that is without mentioning the extremely comfortable tent. Our girls and we slept soundly and our phones were all charged up for the next day of driving. We also got to meet the resident dog, Wilma, who is as cute as her name!

Weekend Trip to Hidden Meadow Retreat

Through and through, this experience was incredible!! Super easy to access, beautiful layout, and the amenities were amazing. Every single thing is accommodated for, from bundles of wood, power supply/charging stations, Games/Activities, etc. Everything is extremely clean and tidy as well. The Stargazer Tent is also extremely comfy and cozy. Overall a 10/10 experience that is perfect for a trip with family & friends or a romantic getaway. Will absolutely be going back ASAP!

The yurts are lovely. And the river access can’t be beat. The hammock was also great. Loved not having to set up and take down a tent. Lynn and Bruce were very welcoming and gave us all the info we could need. Definitely will stay again.

Had the whole place to ourselves, the hosts were very kind and helpful! Lovely little getaway.

The stargazer tent was the perfect getaway. Outfitted with all the necessities and super comfortable mattresses. We popped down the skylight windows and literally slept under the stars. Other highlights: -Tons of wonderful signs to answer any question you may have. -the hiking trails were the big family hit, searching out the fairy houses kept us busy for hours. -lovely hottub out surrounded by nature. -booknook rocking chair in a peaceful little corner on the campgrounds -other camp sites were far enough away to not be disruptive yet share a friendly wave. -hosts were exceptional. Friendly, wonderful commutators and have created the perfect little oasis in Olympia,WA We will be back!

2 nights at Elfendahl Forest

This little gem property is a one of a kind. Gary has thought of everything and is an amazing host. We learned so much about being off grid and still living very comfortable. It was cute and whimsical, and there were a few fabulous dogs keeping us company. This wonderful place is not for someone who needs city life - we would definitely come again. Thanks for the hospitality.

We enjoyed our time on Jake and Molly's property. We were even one of the first to use their brand new yurt. Bring your own bedding. The shower is handy and the outdoor sink basin is so darn cute! Great firewood available on site. Jake and Molly and their kids greeted us. Of course their pets came a calling too. Friendly and sweet, Jake and Molly were responsive to our needs. Directions were very clear for our arrival Have fun when you visit.

We will definitely be going back to the Rowley Resort! Bruce and Lynn have done an amazing job creating a beautiful atmosphere to kick back and relax. We played with our grandson in the river, Lynn provided paint so the kids could paint rocks. The yurts and bathroom were super clean. I backed our 24ft travel trailer down to the site with no problem. I wouldn’t recommend trying it with a 5th wheel due to lower branches. Bruce has power on site, no need for a generator. The hanging lights were a very nice touch at night.

The sign outside the tent says it all: Glamping: It’s like camping with electricity, wine and much less dirt!! All true plus more! Two of my friends and I stayed at Towering Cedars for a long weekend over Memorial Day. This hip camp has so many offerings to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Juniper thought of everything, including: stemless wine glasses, dishes, cutlery, microwave, refrigerator, running hot and cold water in both the kitchen sink and a bathroom sink, and enclosed outdoor shower, the most tidy, clean and best smelling porta potty ever, Astroturf footing to lessen and dust, fire ring, festive outdoor lighting, outdoor chairs, extra bedding, blankets, games, a fan, a space heater, and much more!

What a great two nights! I booked the Big Dipper fairly last minute for memorial day weekend and I'm so glad I did! The hosts are kind and generous with sharing their property. The property is easy to find, surrounded by lush forest, calming and well maintained. Cart provided to bring your things to your spot. There are multiple BBQ options, kitchen tools, camping plates, and multiple picnic tables. Well water available. Two clean composting toilets, TP, sink and soap to wash. The Big Dipper was cozy and comfortable. Would return!

We love camping, hiking and any opportunity to be outside with our two children! In 2020 (one week before the whole world shut down from Covid) we found the hidden gem we had been searching for! A perfect place to raise our family, space to play and explore nature, super private and close to town! It seemed too good to be true and still does! After settling in and realizing what amazing natural beauty we had, we got to work developing our garden, orchards, trails, fire pits and….Campsites! After building a camp site for our family, we decided that we wanted to share this amazing space with other families to enjoy! We built Hidden Meadow to be the campsite that we have always searched for on our family adventures, surrounded by nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the world, with trails for hiking and a HOT TUB to relax in, in the evening! We hope that you enjoy it! About the property: We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey. The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups! Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi. About the campground: The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the bathroom which has a shower and a toilet. The toilet is a porta-potty and the shower is propane headed. There is also a supply closet at the bathroom that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hottub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins as well as a sink for washing hands (please water only down the sink). We have provided soap that is biodegradable for the sink and shower to help reduce our impact on this beautiful environment. There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There is also several fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊 The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offers great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails! Dogs: We do have two dogs on the property (Wilma and Bean) who are very friendly and we will keep them out of camp during your stay. Although they typically follow us when we walk down there. We allow dogs to be off leash at owner’s risk. There may be other dogs in camp so please use discretion when letting your dogs off leash and be mindful of other campers. You must be responsible for your own dogs, we are not responsible for any dog related or dog inflicted injuries. Getting here: We are off of Sleater Kinney Rd in Olympia. We have a long, steep, curvy driveway. At the bottom of the driveway, you will find signs directing you to the camp site. If you have extra vehicles, we have extra parking spaces adjacent to the campsite. The road out to camp may be bumpy (we do our best to keep it smooth) so go slow and beware of natural obstacles. Rules: 1. Check in time is 2:00pm or later. For afterhours arrivals, please let us know. 2. Check out time is 12:00pm or earlier 3. Quiet hours from 9pm to 8am. You are far from our house, so we can’t hear you but sound travels well over the water to our neighbors. Nobody wants grumpy neighbors, please be respectful. 4. Remain within the campground boundary during all times. If you need us, please feel free to text or call. 5. Please put all trash in the trash cans or take it with you. 6. Remove all dog doo and dispose of in the trash. 7. Leave what you find (except ripe blackberries). Please leave any forest treasures where you found them. 8. Cleanup any debris left from firewood/camp activities before departing. 9. Enjoy nature and respect it. Please stay on trails and respect the plants and the natural habitats. 10. Stay off the dock. It is closed for repair. 11. Do not use the trailside fireplace (if you find it) or our personal canoe or kayaks. However, feel free to enjoy the view from the seats by the fireplace. 12. Be cautious when walking around, the ground is bumpy and there are exposed tree roots that can be tripping hazards. We are not responsible from injuries. 13. Help us keep it clean- if you find any garbage around, please pick it up or let us know. 14. Keep fires small and when you are finished PUT YOUR FIRES DEAD OUT! There are 5 gallon buckets by each fire put to fill before you start your fire for putting them out. 15. Please do not burn trash or food. It can create issues with the wildlife. Put all waste in garbage cans.

The Glendale Farm

At 180 acres Glendale Farm in Chimacum, in operation since 1857, is one of the largest single agricultural properties remaining in Jefferson County. The farm includes prime agricultural soils, over half a mile of East Chimacum Creek, and forested uplands. The farm continues to provide food, fiber, and habitat for future generations. The easement protects a buffer zone for salmon and wildlife habitat along the east fork of Chimacum Creek and protects the agricultural and forestry values of the property forever. Jefferson Land Trust worked with Jefferson County and Jefferson LandWorks Collaborative partners to purchase the easement with state Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program Farmland Preservation grant funds, Jefferson County Conservation Futures funds, and community funds.
