Watch the sunset into the world famous San Juan Islands. Our property is located on the scenic Chuckanut Drive. It is a 15 minute walk to Taylor United's Seafood Bar that has beer and wine. You will need boots just below the knee, or hiking shoes that will get wet. The Creek crossing is a little deeper this year. You will also be crossing a muddy area for about 20 yards, you will sink about 3 inches into the mud. The hike into the campsite takes 12 minutes. You need to contact me to check the tides, as to be able to get to the campsite. We need to hike in below a 5 foot tide. Starting October, the campsite closes for winter. Again , this campsite is Tide dependent. The first question to me should be, What is the latest we can hike in? I am not Moses, I can’t part the sea. Camp closed during winter October/ march

Camp Keyser is a wooded 5 acre parcel in the mountains, near mountain loop highway - in the center of everything wonderful in the northern cascade mountains. We have one private cabin and 6 campsites. Tent campers will enjoy the lush landscape of a mature forest with sites along the (seasonal) Thirsty Creek. Nearby (3 minute walk), users can contemplate views of Whitehorse Mountain, Jumbo Mountain, Glacier Peak, and Whitechuck Mountain. This part of the Stillaguamish valley and the adjacent Mountain Loop Highway is known for a great selection of hiking trails, at all skill levels. It is perfect hub for all of your outdoor interests. The trailhead for the summit of Whitehorse Mountain is just a mile away, as is Old Mine Road trail (45 minute hike ending in 2 waterfalls). A 15-20 minute walk takes campers to a swimming hole in the cool Stillaguamish river for a dip or a paddle. Even closer is Whitehorse Regional Trail (great for biking, walking and horseback riding) built on the bed of the former BNSF railroad through the North Stillaguamish River Valley, spanning over 27 miles. The nearly level trail meanders through the valley, rewarding visitors with picturesque, landscape views of forests, farmland, streams and rivers, and mountain vistas. Sites have a generous fire pit and access to a Porta-Potty. For bathing I recommend cool dip in the Stillaguamish River. In season there is also fishing, snowshoeing, concerts at the blue grass festival grounds, a rodeo, and so much more.

This cabin was cozy and relaxing. It is surrounded by trees with a nice view of s cool rock cliff. You can hear the creek burbling a few dozen feet away. The location felt very secure and calm. Dave was a very responsive host, provided clear and helpful instructions, and my trip went smoothly. I am excited to return in the future.

Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm

We had a wonderful weekend at the A-Frame on Huckleberry Hill! This cabin is super cute, exactly like the photos/description. The view is beautiful, and it was very private, we didn't see anyone else while we were there (you can just barely occasionally hear the campers at the next site over, but they weren't the least bit disruptive). It was very peaceful, falling asleep to the sound of the frogs and crickets, and occasional owl call! Few notes to future campers: the cookware is mostly mess kit-type pots and pans with a cast iron pan or two, so bring your own if you if there's something specific you're expecting to cook with; we had excellent cell service; the town of Granite Falls is only a 12-15 drive from the campsite; we were in a Nissan Juke with AWD and had no issues with the driveway, but I wouldn't want to try it in a sportscar; there are not any places to hang a hammock at the site, we were glad to have brought our portable hammock stand. Thanks again for the great weekend :)

My dog and I stayed in the Spruce treehouse and had the place all to ourselves. The treehouse was so fun and the site was very peaceful. We were able to relax on the comfortable bed inside and enjoy the beautiful view of the trees, have a campfire in the little fire pit under the treehouse, and thankfully had a warm shower in the bath house after a long hike. They are currently building an additional shelter on the large lower deck of the spruce treehouse, so that deck space is no longer available for lounging. They provided towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They provided wood for the fire pit. The treehouse was simple inside and comfortable. I loved waking up to the birds and the trees. Heads up that you can hear the train when it goes by and it's quite loud, which surprised my dog in the middle of the night. We enjoyed our stay and recommend that you include this place in one of your adventures!

The directions made it easy to find. We really loved being surrounded by a beautiful forest. The tree house was very comfortable with ann amazing view, and the fire pit area was great for hanging out and having take out dinner from nearby Acme diner. Our dog really enjoyed everything about the trip, especially walking the path around the property. The nearby restroom with flush toilet and shower was clean. This truly is a special place!

Weekend Trip to The Chuckanut Rock

Tony was an excellent guide on our quick hike to the location. Pro Tip: Wear proper shoes, it can get muddy and slippery quick. Open concept, secluded oasis, stunning views, and a complete breath of fresh air. We were able to fit our tent underneath the structure and have an amazing view of the stars at night, plus waking up with the sun in the mornings. Be prepared to take some time in setting up camp as it is open to the elements and nature. There is gear on site, but since the structure is open air, be sure to bring along what you think you will need, even if you end up keeping it in the car. Canoe for paddling around at high tide and a great spot for rock hounding and tide pooling. If you are a seafood lover, highly recommend Taylor Shellfish Farms down the road for the freshest oysters and a beachside dinner. Would love to keep this place a secret because it really is a gem of a spot. See pictures attached 😊 We will for sure be back! Thanks Tony!

As always the trip was so peaceful, the cabin is great. We enjoyed watching the Falcons and Hawks. The outdoor shower gets nice and hot and has an excellent view. The wood stove kept us nice an toasty at night.

The cabin was perfect. Had everything we needed, quiet, and close to some beautiful parks. The cabin had great wildlife viewing and the landscape was always changing. Nancy was a wonderful host and provided great communication.

2 nights at Heron's Nest Botanicals

Lovely, peaceful, and just what we needed” are ftting words to describe Flicker’s Nest, located just 35 minutes east of Bellingham. Merlin, a friendly bear of a dog, greeted us upon our arrival and Erick, his knowledgeable human and host extraordinaire showed us to our yurt and provided easy to understand instructions for its amenities, and we happily found everything to be exactly as described. One might think of a yurt with no electricity or Wi-Fi as “off the grid”, but ours had so many features (stove, heater, paraffin lamps, potable water) that functioned quite well and made our stay pleasant. The spacious, heated bathroom was also very nice and just a few yards away, providing electricity, an easy-to-use self-composting toilet and walk-in shower with earth-friendly soap, shampoo, body oil and plush towels; perfect for after a strenuous hike in one of the region's gorgeous parks and wilderness areas. We slept quite soundly amid the farm’s idyllic setting, thanks to a very comfortable queen-size bed with a plush, firm mattress, clean sheets, comforters and pillows, supported by an attractive hardwood frame (handmade by Erick and his two children). Two windows and a glass entrance door provided ample daylight, ventilation and nature viewing; in fact, one morning we were delighted to see a herd of majestic elk grazing peacefully in the meadow! Now, how would I summarize this charming little getaway in a couple of sentences? “Don't miss this”, and “Our stay was too short

Great spot for a secluded off grid adventure! Forst time taking my daughters camping, they loved being able to hike the trails and go to the nearby creek

Cabin was clean and comfortable, there were basic cooking supplies which was helpful. The area is beautiful with lots of trails to explore. We had fun hiking around and enjoying the trees! Very good stay!
