The storm was amazing to watch tucked into our side of the property. Close to parks, hikes and Bellingham. For people with small children there is a playground just a few houses away. Camping near Geneva with wifi provided guide

Overview

Situated just outside of Bellingham on the banks of Lake Whatcom, Geneva is a good jumping off point for lakeside adventure and for exploring wilder terrains further afield. The prettiest attraction in the area is arguably Whatcom Falls Park, the site of a waterfall that pours into Whatcom Creek. Geneva sits right on the 10-mile long Lake Whatcom, popular for fishing, swimming, and boating, and is just a short drive from the 745-acre Lake Padden Park. Other attractions include Larrabee State Park, Lake Samish, and the shops and restaurants of nearby Bellingham.

Where to go

The San Juan Islands

Across the Bellingham Bay from Geneva, the San Juan Islands are known for their beautiful natural scenery and ample opportunities for outdoor fun. Whale-watching is particularly popular here, with year-round opportunities to spot these marine mammals.

The North Cascades

East of town, the North Cascades region and North Cascades National Park is home to some of the least-touched scenery in the state. Just be prepared to hike or backpack as much of this wild expanse can only be accessed on foot.

The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest

Stretching along the western Cascade Range, this national forest is a great place to hike and camp, especially in the summer. It's also the site of snow-capped Mount Baker, an active volcano that attracts plenty of mountain climbers.

When to go

Geneva and the surrounding area is pleasant throughout the year, though low temperatures from December through March make it less than desirable for camping, especially if you don't have cold weather-rated gear and good rain protection. The climate here is cool and rainy throughout the year, although July and August can have highs in the low 70s and usually don't get more than four or five days of rain.
