You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course). Wylie was an amazing host! The property was easy to find, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. Communication was quick and helpful, and Wylie made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The campsite itself was clean, quiet, and had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Would definitely stay here again — highly recommend Wylie’s place to anyone looking for a great Hipcamp experience!

Brown Barrel has huge potential to become a really nice spot to get away for some quiet time. We wish we had known that we would be the only ones there as our spot was extremely dusty as it appeared to be more recently established and there was another spot that had gravel and would been a more pleasant spot to set up camp. Generally, the "camp ground" was pretty rough. The flush toilet was a major bonus even though we were fully prepared to dry camp. Our dogs appreciated being able to be off leash.

Great location for adventures in town… water and power hook ups were handy. We brought travel trailer and our specific spot was challenging for where our door was located. But once we figured it out, the view was great! Definitely recommend.

Anchor your boat right next to camp on the Coeur D'Alene River. Public boat launches are available at Bull Run, and Killarney Lake, within 3 miles of camp.
