1 night at Hoypus Point Camp

I went for the weekend to celebrate my birthday! It was the perfect set up for a single tent and I felt safe. My dogs had a great time and we loved all the birds and frogs at night! The hosts had great communication and even helped us extend the trip since we wanted an extra night!

Great, nicely maintained place in a nice open field that our dogs and kids loved. We were very close to downtown but still felt like we were camping. The train noise was a little loud but adds to the ambience in my opinion. The hosts were great! Very accommodating and responsive.

Weekend Trip to Serene Lopez Island Camping

Lopez Farm Cottages was so perfect! My adult daughter and I reserved a dispersed campsite (#10), tucked in the woods and yet close to the large communal shelter's outdoor basic kitchen and shower facilities (very clean). Awesome views of the host's sheep, grazing, and their garden/greenhouse along with a stone fireplace within the shelter made for relaxing mornings and evenings. Icing on the cake was the warm welcome from farm kitties, Nori and Kombu. The couple hosting were friendly and available... thank you both for your delightful hospitality! I so enjoyed staying at Nancy and Jeri’s cabin! What a great spot to base out of to see all the area has to offer. We loved watching the birds and the tide come in and out. Slept great! Lovely place to stay.

Weekend Trip to North Wind House: Historic Cascadia

Beautiful, fresh, and cozy. The 2 of us felt so welcomed by Reg as soon as we met! He walked us through the property, introduced us to the Cat, explained the essentials, and even offered us a bigger cabin with a loft that happened to be open, which was absolutely a treat. The location was beautiful, nestled in farmlands and facing a mountain, with everything we needed including a hostel-style kitchen and shared bathroom. It was a cool April night but we found our cabin and common spaces to be perfectly warm. Definitely recommend checking this place out and giving Reg some appreciation for the beautiful work he has done with his property and space! We hope to come back again someday. A swim in the Grotto would be epic during the hot summer months ;)

Very well maintained site with beautiful views of the Mountain, in a very quiet neighborhood. The horses are very friendly, there was wood available for purchase for fire. We didn't meet the host but they left clear instructions.

Wanted the feel of a weekend away with the convenience of being near town, and this was perfect! Nicely tucked in the woods- there were people staying in the yurt around the corner and we didn't see or hear them once, so we felt very private. Easy to find/park, cute bathroom, quality table and firepit. I would definitely stay again.

Lovely hip camp! The site was super clean with wood, fire pit, picnic table and wonderful view of the peaceful pond. My 7 year old son loved the pond and walking the property. Great location for hiking nearby mountains and deception pass. Awesome hosts and sweet pup to greet us. We will definitely be back to explore more hiking in the area.

2 nights at North Wind House: Historic Cascadia

We loved our two nights in the Analog Room. Such a peaceful property with lots of little nooks and nature adventures. The river is beautiful, as is the view from the hill. Reg was very kind and accommodating. Would certainly visit again :)

Marvelous time at Reg’s homestead. Moon was bright and blue, stars shining, fire pit was a treat and as warm as the welcome, surrounding area vast and beautiful, Analogue Room was cozy and full of music to listen to. Thank you Reg and all, we shall return!!

This was the perfect spot for a family getaway. Nancy was the kindest host. The cabin was an adorable little spot with a perfect view. My daughter loved exploring and Nancy was kind enough to let her play on her grandkids outdoor toys/swings. We had my in-laws staying in the cabin and we were able to park our truck-bed camper right inside her gate, just a short pathway to the cabin. Her dog was super sweet and so excited to have visitors. The cabin is only 10 minute drive to La Conner or Anacortes. We will absolutely be back. 💛

Feral Farm

A 46 acre off grid communitiy nestled within an established food forest. A mile of trails, a creek/pond, established agroforestry plantings and multiple examples of tiny homes and natural buildings dot the landscape. All within the context of a mature and established forest. The camping sites are private and removed from the bustle of the farm. History: the farm was started in 1997. Matt Van Boven (your host and the owner) started on raw land and built all of the infrastructure with the help of many interns over the years. Every edible plant that could be grown here has been trialed. No irrigation, fertilizer, or cultivation is used on the farm. Only the most resilient and adapted plants remain to this day. These include hundreds of nut and fruit trees as well as many perennial edibles. Much of the forest, itself has been managed with thousands of cedar trees planted among the existing vegetation. Besides the plantings, all manner of natural buildings are represented. Cordwood and cob being a few of the methods explored. The farm has a collection of tiny homes that surround a core of utilitarian structures and provide housing to an eclectic bunch of forest folk. The land is uniquely situated on the confluence of two major rivers (the Sauk and the Skagit). The creek is an old river channel that is now abandoned. A couple sit-on-top kayaks are available to use to explore. For the adventurous, a trail carries on from the creek to the river itself. The trail system is a labor of love crafted over the last 20 years. Almost a mile of manicured trails weave their way around the plantings and forest. The trees are almost 100 years old with some very large specimens of both maple and cedar. The farm is completely off grid and has been so since its inception. Working with limited means has been a theme in the design and development. Living in a more ecological way has been a major inspiration for us and we hope that you, as a guest, not only have an enjoyable stay but also leave inspired to change your life in a similar direction!

One campsite is a beach on the North Fork Stilly, it is shaded most of the time, the sun lovers can paddle with their kayak or wade across to sunbath on an island across the river. tent campers can locate their car or truck on dike and move their supplies on to camping area.. trucks with campers can set up right on dike over looking the stilly. Rigs can set up in the field by the dike!! the outhouse is back for the season!!! The second campsite is on 4 acres you will have to yourself by a creek; Rhodes River Ranch Restaurant is walking distance away to go enjoy dinner; the Whitehorse trail for biking or walking is only a mile away; Enjoy the view of Whitehorse and three fingers mountain. Lake Cavanaugh is nearby, and regional activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking, , paddling, wind sports, and off-roading. Surrounded by blueberry fields, we purchased this property to enjoy camping with our three kids, extended family, and friends away from crowded campgrounds . Offering the use of it to others through Hipcamp is a fun way to share with others when not in use by us. We hope others will find the same joy we do. Property access is directly off the road with any vehicle. We have had large motor homes on the property without any trouble. Traffic is minimal with mostly other people off to enjoy their recreational land. The nearest neighbors are about 500' away across the blueberry fields. You may occasionally hear our neighbors enjoying their property as well but the noises sound distant and haven't been a problem for us. Because we allow dispersed camping there may be other people on the property with you. Please select our group camping option If you are interested in having the entire property for yourselves or for an event such as a family reunion or large friend group camping trip. The property is about one mile from the cascade bicycle trail which will take you to Sedro-Woolley in eleven miles or East to Birdsview Brewery in seven miles. If you explore even further East you'll find Act One Ice Cream Parlor adjacent to The Concrete Theater in Concrete. Check their website for hours and showings. A new local spot, Lyman Tavern, might also be a fun place to grab a bite to eat. Kids are allowed during certain hours. Cozy up next to a campfire at our fire pit constructed last season. It is located in the center of the property. Posts with solar lights are also around the fire pit. The lights are operated by remote so lights can be turned off to star gaze. You are welcome to burn any wood already down. Outdoor opportunities (hiking, biking, rafting) are in abundance from about any direction. To the East you'll find the North Cascade National Park, Baker Lake within the Mt. Baker National Forest, and Ross Lake National Recreation Area. Bicyclists will enjoy the close proximity to the Cascade Trail. Places to explore further from camp could be Deception Pass, Padilla Bay or the quaint towns of LaConner and Anacortes. We do not live on site but could potentially be there upon your arrival setting up any "extras" you've requested or finishing property maintenance. We do have friends nearby who alert us to anything that doesn't look right. ***As this is a working agricultural area we want to be transparent that farm activities such a spraying and harvesting of the blueberries may occur along property boundaries. More than likely this will not happen during your stay but be prepared to head to town for ice cream or to the Birdsview Brewery while things settle down around camp. Please let us know if you have any questions. This has not been a problem for us yet personally.

End of the road. Start of an epic camping weekend. River to the side, Cascade foothill surround. Each site has river access except for lookers left which is not accessible due to the steep grade. All the siteshave nice sand for kids to play in. Close to the north cascades. Minutes from live music, bars and quality mexican restaurant. Rails to trail for bikes and walking. Tward the end of july the river starts to recede opening up more possibilities of having interaction with the river. That being said its crucial you keep an eye out on your kids. We had a guy out here who almost killed his kids multiple times underestimating the current. Watch out!!Kinda going for the peaceful, listen to the river and birds, vibe. Would rather there be no music and if there is then super low and off by 7. Sauna available after 3pm

Vital Farm at Clear Lake

Vital Farm is 25 acres of waterfront property on Clear Lake, WA. 18 acres of the property is agricultural land that is open space. The owners have a small garden and some fruit trees that are for owner's use only but you are happy to walk around and tour the garden. Approximately 5 acres of the property is mowed for recreational use. There is a dock for fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking or boating. The lake is open to boats but no jet skis are allowed. You can bring your own water toys and play on the lake all day. There is open space for camping but no running water. The property has a firepit and porta potty for campers use. You will likely see wildlife like eagles (nest nearby), deer, geese, ducks, birds and of course clear, starry night, skies. There is a gas station, coffee shop, public beach, over 21 restaurant/bar and small store within walking distance from the property too. We are open to start our third season as a Hipcamp. So excited to welcome back our repeat guests and to meet new people. Come enjoy the Bamboo cabin at the north end of Turner Bay. The deck faces southwest toward the water. This is a family property with the host on site in the main house. The cabin is really cozy as we have an HVAC system so you can stay warm in the winter months, and cool in the summer. This unique property's location allows for many fun outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, crabbing; and fishing (seasonal), birding, bicycling and playing on the beach, high tide twice a day brings in all sorts of wildlife as well as the occasional message in a bottle. For small craft (kayak or canoe) boating from here the most accurate tide chart is La Conner Wash. There must be a high tide to get in or out of our little bay. Alternatively, the towns of La Conner and Anacortes have multiple activities available. I would suggest calling ahead in order to book kayaking, rock climbing sailing charter or....? We are located very close to many amenities. You will find the Swinomish Casino and golf course within two miles. Or spend time exploring the little shops and local entertainment in the small towns of Anacortes and La Conner. You can also take a day trip to the San Juan Islands by taking a scenic ferry ride out of Anacortes. While you're here you may meet our pup Turner, or our cats Poly and Minnie, we also have several chickens that provide us with eggs most of the time. Also on the property are your hosts Jeri and Nancy, as well as our handyman Sean who lives in a retro build bus at the north end. Saltgrass boasts beautiful flowers, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and yes, the Bay. We try to live harmoniously with the land. We would love to share our space with you! Our property has hosted many events, such as weddings, family reunions, company picnics, a music festival, and life celebrations. If you are interested, please let us know. Kragnes Family Farm Mt Baker Camp

Our 28 acres are located in between maple falls and glacier, Wa, directly on Mt Baker Hwy on the way to Beautiful Mt Baker. Ben and I run a chemical free farm, on which we raise 7 and 1/2 acres of veggie and flower. 15 acres of pastureland on which we raise pasture raised chicken, as well as biannual lamb and beef. The remainder of our land is breathtaking pacific northwest forest that is boarded by the Bay to Baker trail. Our campsites range between walk in wooded sites, and car camping sites that are open field sites next to the tree line. We provide wagons in our cart corral area to make it more convenient for the very short walk in. ( no more then a 200 foot walk in) We have a beautiful cedar grove to enjoy for lounging and picnics. The Bay to Baker trail borders our property, so it is just steps away and includes a 45 min round walk to a quaint little waterfall (maple falls). As well as a nature loop trail. You can also walk the other direction on the trail over a boardwalk and up to the Nooksack river. This direction walks along the back of the farm and allows you to see the veggie fields from a distance. There is a conservation area, just a quarter mile drive down the road. With access to the Nooksack river, that includes several nice swimming spots and a couple nice walking trials. Silver Lake is just 3.8 miles away. It has a great recreation area, fun for the whole family. Just a heads up , you will probably lose service on your drive up here. But you will get service back when you are here. We suggest putting the map in your phone before you leave. Google maps will take you just past the farm, and apple maps will stop you too soon. So you are looking for the large kragnes family farms sign in the driveway. pull in and follo the camping signs to the back.

The name of our road rings true to the scene; bunnies and families of deer are everywhere. Flying near and over head are hawks, eagles, vocal blue jays and all the like.😊 Our trails are awesome. I’d highly recommend good shoes/hiking boots and maybe even your hiking poles or a walking stick for the two steep areas. Your mountain bike would be fun too. Note; the trail down to the river is steep- and worth the venture 💦 Delicious drinking water is available on site. A commercial style stainless steel sink is situated right next to the garden for hand washing and doing dishes. No hot water is available, but you can always heat some on your cook stove. Jess' garden stand located at the beginning of the driveway will have seasonal eggs, berries and veggies for anything you may have forgotten or would like to enjoy for your evening meals or breakfast concoctions. Available right now; Fresh, organically fed, free range and happy duck eggs Rainbow Chard (ask Jess so I can pick fresh, wash and offer upon request) Now…the fun stuff to do out-and-about and outside of ‘Camp Wildlife’ is quite extensive.
