The cabin was clean and the property was peaceful. The real treat were the very friendly goats and sheep who put on a show each day.

Was attending a workshop in Bellingham so unfortunately wasn't able to spend a ton of time on this lovely property but I appreciated coming back after a full day to the peace and quiet, and it was VERY quiet at night. The cabin was clean and well equipped for what it was, a tiny home basically. A nice change from a sterile cheap hotel which would have been my other option. Only thing off is I think I could smell the composting toilet at times. Might have been my imagination. It didn't bother me but some more sensitive to smell might be. Overall a good experience and I will probably be staying again, maybe try the other cabin next time. Thank you!

Clean and comfortable tiny cabin. The loo and showers were nice amenities. The sink , the fridge, and basic dish ware were appreciated. We brought our camp stove and set it up outside on the picnic table. We brought our sharp knives, and cast iron pan- but forgot the spatula- but got by fine for our simple meals.
We enjoyed lazing about, wandering the grounds, visiting the large chicken coop, and nice fire pit setup. Fed the sheep nibbles, and checked out the barn, looks to be fine year round outdoor sport base.

This was our first time using hip camp and we made one huge mistake which was misreading the ad and confusing the descriptions of the two cabins on the site. We stayed in what's called the office and under what's included I read "Kitchen equipment included" as a small working kitchen not noting right after it said "toaster oven". When we got there and realized that there was nothing there to cook with except for that toaster oven we had to scramble and adjust our plans. That was my fault, a learning experience although I think that if it had been written / laid out differently
On the app it would have made it clear that there was nothing but a toaster oven.... Unfortunately the toaster oven was dirty and greasy so we didn't bother to use it. Kari offered to help us with some sort of microwave etc but we declined.
The cabin. It was basically ok but if it was combined with the other cabin it would be ideal. Mainly the "composting toilet" could be installed outside of the living space like was done at the other cabin. Second, maybe it's a hip camp thing but if you call something a kitchenette it implies a functional cooking area vs a sink and small counter and dorm room fridge. We used our truck fridge and unplugged it when sleeping for quiet. The window springs don't work and are pretty heavy to open and the stick provided is short, we used our own stick. Also a door that worked easily or at least easier would be nice.

Kari was an incredible host! She was very responsive and the property was gorgeous. On the day we were leaving, she gave a very graciously late checkout, which allowed us to enjoy us really take our time. I accidentally left my phone at the cabin and she was so kind as to mail it back to me. Would 100% stay here again!

We really loved the sheep and goats and how comfortable they are around people. They’re hilarious and just make you happy. The property is beautiful and so peaceful. We enjoyed nightly fires in the fire pit making s’mores and relaxing after a fun day. It’s in an extremely convenient location near town and hiking, biking, and swimming opportunities. The cabin is small, but has everything you need. We really enjoyed our time there. Thank you, Kari!

Beautiful grounds amazing sauna adored the location very convenient to everything in Bellingham in Fairhaven host was responsive and helpful. My only note would be that the composting toilet without the door to it is a bit strange but I appreciate the equal conscious sentiment.

Large cabin w beautiful views of Lake Watcom through the woods, amazing amenities, not the biggest fan of the composting toilet but maybe I'm too much of a city boy. Sauna was lovely, unfortunately was not able to try the fire pit!

The Office was perfect for a weekend in the Bellingham area! Great balance of feeling away from it all while being a short drive to the city. Kari was very communicative and supportive. And we had a great time meeting the herd of goats/sheep as well.

Spent three nights here at the Playhouse to attend graduation ceremonies at WWU. Perfect location close to campus yet a peaceful and quiet place to relax. Everything nice and warm with heater running despite a windstorm blowing through. Petting the goats/sheep was great entertainment to make it memorable. Will stay here again whenever in B ham!

This is my third time staying here. The perfect basecamp for anything in the Bellingham area! So quiet and peaceful. Very accessible to town, yet quiet solitude. Had a great night's sleep. Cabin is spotless. Everytime while coming and going was able to enjoy the goats/sheep. Bumped into Kari this time and had a wonderful conversation. Very personable and accommodating. Coming back in Dec.

Quiet, easy commute from Bellingham; clean and cozy with perfectly serviceable amenities. Of note for potential guests: this loft cabin has what we affectionately termed "the staircase of death"...essentially a ladder with slippery round wooden dowels (painful to bare feet) up to a loft space with a low ceiling and awkward flooring. If you have any mobility/flexibility issues whatsoever, consider the other property "The Office" which is lighter and brighter and one level. Additionally, the electrical is a little bit janky with various extension cords and 'creativity". All this aside, it's a great little getaway, perhaps on the higher end of the price point for what you get, but still an enjoyable space or home base while exploring Mt. Baker.

I've stayed on this property before but in the other cabin. Both sites incredibly clean. Incredibly quiet. Incredibly peaceful. Had a wonderful time hanging out with the goats. Coming back in three weeks.

Kari's place is great and in such a beautiful area, it was the perfect stop on our trip. We appreciated all of the amenities in the tiny home and Kari was extremely communicative throughout the stay. We also loved spending time with the goats and sheep!

My friends and I had an amazing time at Kari's property. We had biked from Seattle to Bellingham (as part of RSVP) and were looking for a place to relax and recuperate for the night. We rented both cabins on the site, enjoyed the very hot sauna, warm showers, kitchen, and cute goats. It was a colder night and the heaters + wood stove helped us stay warm. Everything was very well laid out for a comfortable stay. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy everything!

Such a peaceful, beautiful spot so close to town. A relaxing setting whether strolling along side goats, listening to chickens nearby or rain thrumming on the roof. To be tucked into such a cozy cabin and yet only a short drive to downtown Bellingham seems to be the best of both worlds.

10/10 would stay here again! Kari was a wonderful host - swift and helpful communication, clean and quality amenities, quiet and private set up, well cared for land, and obvious love and thoughtfulness in the cabin’s details (the essential oils!). I feel so grateful to have been able to stay here especially within a budget. I can’t thank you enough! My favorite things about my stay were: the quiet and privacy, the outdoor shower, the dark skies, and the chicken friends. Thank you for sharing this sacred land and cabin - nothing was missing.
