I had been searching for over 2 years for a property where I could make a difference in the environment and live in the wilderness. I was looking for water on a large tract of land that was remote. In 2017 I found the perfect property and to my dismay it had sold 2 days before I saw the listing. I was shocked because this was the perfect property. In my 2 years of searching I knew exactly what I wanted and this was the property. It had a private lake with fish. A solar cabin with a flush toilet and hot shower. The cabins 8 foot windows faced West for magical sunsets and view of the storms that roll in from the coast. It was beautifully treed with just the right amount of open meadow and forest with Hemlock, Ponderosa pine, and Larch. How could this property be sold? I tried to let it go but thought about it for the next year. After a year and a half had passed and my search continued I came across an advertisement for this magical property, it was up for sale again. I called the real estate agent immediately and found that an offer had been made but the buyers could not commit for 5 more months. I made an offer that day not really knowing how I was going to pull off the money. I knew this property was meant for me. I wrote the owner a letter explaining that I was a land steward and that this land would never be developed. I would be putting it in a land trust where no developers could put up condos. The owner happened to be a environmentally focused human and he ended up selling to me. Come to find out when I had first saw the property sold a year and a half before, that transaction had fallen through. The owner had just taken it off the market for the winter. Absolutely loved this campsite! It was an adventure to get there and the views were so worth it! The host was very responsive and gave great directions on how to get there! Even with all the smoke from the fires the view was breathtaking! Definitely recommend anyone will love it!

Weekend Trip to Nirvana Gardens

We really loved our stay at Matt's cabin, which was so homey and comfortable. The solar cabin was easy to use, and we had plenty of energy for all of our needs. The cabin sits on a very quiet 100 acres, and we had a blast playing around in the lake and running around the property with our dog, who got to be off leash the entire time. A few things to note: The cabin is pretty remote, and the road is slow, so definitely stock up on groceries ahead of time! (The kitchen is well equipped, so cooking is easy there.) The road up to the cabin is narrow but in very good shape right now--our AWD Volkswagen ID.4 handled it just fine in mid-September. Also, while at the cabin, we did run into one neighbor passing by in his pickup truck (he was very friendly) and one propane delivery truck, so keep that in mind if you have a dog (like ours) who is a car chaser. (Luckily we could hear the trucks long before we saw the trucks!) Also, we could get intermittent cell service, especially on the hillier parts of the property, if you need to use your phone or check e-mails occasionally while there. But Matt's cabin is a wonderful place for completely ignoring your phone if you can! Finally, Matt is a lovely person, and he's very easy to communicate with. We're very much looking forward to visiting again.

2 nights at Chewack River Guest Ranch

Christine’s land was perfect for a quiet getaway. It is on a farm, so you do hear animals from a far distance. It was not annoying whatsoever. Plenty of room for larger tents or even multiple tents. The river access was really nice for sitting next to with a cocktail or early morning coffee. The toilet is a little bit of a walk, but I always bring my own.

We enjoyed our 2 nights at the land! It was private and a great location for exploring North Cascades NP and the surrounding towns of Mazama and Winthrop. If you stay here be sure to visit the Mazama store and get a sandwich (breakfast or lunch only) and some homemade ice cream! The camping land has a stream on one side of it, unfortunately it was dry when we stayed there. We were hoping to set up some chairs and enjoy the cool water on a hot afternoon, but we wandered into the town of Winthrop instead. What a delight! It was like stepping into the Wild West. Highly recommend! The land does have power and water. Also a couple picnic tables and other tables for cooking, eating, etc. And a very clean portable-potty! (Confirm this with the host, I don’t think it’s there year round) Overall would recommend!

His property is super super clean and most amazing right next to the river. I will definitely go back for a weekend vacation or any camping trip. Weekend Trip to The Plain Valley

The owners were great and communicative! They had a drive in movie and group games which sets them apart. The campsites are small and don’t provide much privacy but if you aren’t planning on staying at your site much, this is a great option. There is a bathroom but not close to the campsite. Overall, I’d recommend The stay and would book again.

We really loved the remoteness! Phil was very helpful guiding our RV in and making us feel comfortable. Osprey site is the best with river views and amazing star gazing. The river was clear, cool and refreshing. We will definitely be back.
