We really loved our stay at Matt's cabin, which was so homey and comfortable. The solar cabin was easy to use, and we had plenty of energy for all of our needs. The cabin sits on a very quiet 100 acres, and we had a blast playing around in the lake and running around the property with our dog, who got to be off leash the entire time. A few things to note: The cabin is pretty remote, and the road is slow, so definitely stock up on groceries ahead of time! (The kitchen is well equipped, so cooking is easy there.) The road up to the cabin is narrow but in very good shape right now--our AWD Volkswagen ID.4 handled it just fine in mid-September. Also, while at the cabin, we did run into one neighbor passing by in his pickup truck (he was very friendly) and one propane delivery truck, so keep that in mind if you have a dog (like ours) who is a car chaser. (Luckily we could hear the trucks long before we saw the trucks!) Also, we could get intermittent cell service, especially on the hillier parts of the property, if you need to use your phone or check e-mails occasionally while there. But Matt's cabin is a wonderful place for completely ignoring your phone if you can! Finally, Matt is a lovely person, and he's very easy to communicate with. We're very much looking forward to visiting again.

Staying at the nirvana gardens was amazing. It is so peaceful and quiet. We especially enjoyed the private lake and our visits from the local deer🥰 Definitely recommend! Thank you Mathew!

We truly loved our 3 days/nights at this location! The house is extremely comfortable with plenty of amenities. Exploring the lake by SUP & floating tubes was a favorite daily activity, along with simply waking up there, gazing out the windows, reading, playing games, and enjoying the quite & non-digital life for a bit.

We had an incredible time. The cabin is super remote and private. We had the property and lake to ourselves, and had a magical time. We are so grateful that Matt is willing to share this truly special place. We will definitely be back!

When I was searching for rural/off the grid, this is exactly what I was talking about! When we pulled up to the house, the first thing we saw were 5-6 deer gathered in the yard chomping on grass. I was particularly excited about this trip because I got to bring my extremely anxious dog with us. From the minute we got there to the second we left, I have never seen my boy so relaxed and in his element. He was allowed to be off leash, and explore. It was so amazing and refreshing to watch him be so carefree! We sat around staring/listening to the deer, birds, ducks, turtles. We took our paddle boards around the lake and it was so unbelievably quiet and peaceful! If you want to get away from the noise and the people, this is your place!

My wife and I had one of the most relaxing stays on vacation that I believe we have ever had! Upon arrival, you feel as if you are in the most remote peaceful place that you only imagine about. The first thing we saw across the lake was a spiraling water spout due to one rogue gust of wind that whipped directly toward us across the lake and swept right over us and immediately after that an eagle swooped down upon the lake.(Sounds scary, but it wasnt lol. It's a mountainous region and its to be expected). Didnt think much of it at the time but kind of had a profound meaning after it happened. After that, it was as peaceful as could be. We watched deer wander through the surrounding area with little to care of our existence every day that we were there. We both spent hours just relaxing with a book, sitting in the sun on the deck or out on the dock. Do you enjoy just seeing nature? You will enjoy the vast amount of it! Chipmunks, turtles, birds of all kinds and many a dragonfly! The cabin is cozy as can be and was quite comfortable even in the 90° weather that we experienced while we were there as long as you use the covers in the daytime. You feel as if you are the only people on the planet and every moment is yours. Matt is also very great at communicating what is needed and he is a very gracious host and seams like just a wonderful human being. We definitely hope to make it back someday!

This was our third visit and hopefully not our last. It's a perfect place to relax and enjoy a peaceful getaway. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake, watching the wildlife, and making delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen. It is a truly special place.

Wow! We loved spending time at this special place. Matt is an incredible host and steward of the land. Hiking around you will see signs of the care and love he has for the land, helping it heal and recover. The lake access was a true delight, perfect for swimming, floating, kayaking, or just reading next to.
You can expect some small quirks at the house property, small considerations that are to be expected at an off grid home (being conservative with the solar system, water usage, etc). The home is incredibly well equipped and exceeded our every expectation. Gravel road out to the property is well maintained and easy to navigate, plan to go slow on it so it stays that way.
Would recommend staying here to any friend. Hope to return soon.

This place is absolutely stunning, the cabin is amazing and who can complain about power in the middle of nowhere. Also, I can't say enough about our host Matthew. His truck broke down and he found a way to get to the cabin, to clean and greet my family and I. Thanks again Matthew for allowing us to experience your own slice of heaven. If you are looking to unplug this place is definately worth it.

We loved this property! The house and lake was a little slice of peaceful paradise and perfect for our family camp out. Everything is as advertised. Expect the last couple of miles driving in to the cabin to be slow going and take longer than expected, but very worth it.

If you want to relax this is the place to go. The only noise (minus our own kids) was the occasional plane which was maybe once or twice a day. So in other words, essentially nothing other than mother nature. I took a nap in an inner-tube on the lake a couple times during our trip. Watching the wildlife, dock jumping, paddleboarding, and swimming kept the kids entertained. The solar system and swamp cooler provided for all of our needs. There is a good sized fridge, industrial gas range, and outdoor grill that more than met our needs for cooking. Comfy beds and napping couch. Sunny days, the water, and star filled nights made for a memorable trip. Matt met with us before and after our stay. Our dog Charlie Moses in tow very much approved! We look forward to our next trip to Nirvana, thank you Matt for sharing your place!

Had such a great time at the solar home. The ultimate relaxation experience. The lake was great, we paddle boarded and kayaked all around. We hiked and explored all over the hills and land. The dogs loved it as well! Going to miss the peace and quiet.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Nirvana Garden for a marriage retreat and couldn't have asked for a better environment to complete our work. The sound of the birds and the absolute absence of civilization made relaxing easy. All the comforts of home without the distractions. The lake was so clean and refreshing! We watched and listened to the variety of nature that the retreat provided. We would definitely love to come back!

It’s just like the pictures - gorgeous and tranquil! The cabin is cozy and the views are very relaxing! Matthew did a great job insulating the cabin- it was warm while we were there and it was cool and pleasant inside even during the heat of the day! No cell service and no internet so you will be super unplugged. Bring your SUV to get there, as it’s on a back road. But once you get there it’s so peacefully quiet!

Couldn’t recommend this place more highly, it was a fantastic trip and we felt so privileged to spend time on this land and in this beautiful home. It was private, serene, gorgeous…the kitchen was stocked with everything we could want or need to cook up a storm…we had no issues with having enough solar power to be more than comfortable…it all felt exteemely luxurious. We explored hikes in the area and swam multiple times a day. Can’t imagine anyone could regret visiting this place!

Then this is the place to go. This was not or first or our last visit to Nirvana. Each time we have truly felt like we have had a relaxing getaway. We read, paddleboard and take in the beauty & wildlife. The cabin is very comfortable and clean. Thanks, Mathew, for sharing your beutiful corner of the state with us.

We loved our stay at Matt's Nirvana Gardens! He is a true steward of this beautiful land and there is a peacefulness here that is hard to come by. The house with its large windows, views of the lake and trees made a perfect setting for contemplation, reading and enjoying friends. Nirvana Garden was an awesome place off the beaten path and sits next to a beautiful small lake we paddled around each day. The solitude and tranquility of this location worked great for the two of us and our two dogs. The large outdoor deck enabled you to find sun or shade and never lose the view and you may even get to see one of the resident deer bed down outside the kitchen window or see eagles hunting the lake or even a meandering turtle coming up from the lake.

Amazing! A beautiful home on beautiful land. We saw lots of wildlife, enjoyed listening to the birds, and the wildflowers were all in bloom. May is a great time to visit. Its not too hot but still warm enough for a dip in the lake. Matt was a great host and seems like an all around great guy. We can't wait to return!

I found Matthew's listing while looking for places to park a camper and decided to give his solar cabin a try instead! It turned out to be a unique adventure full of interesting experiences we hadn't anticipated. The first was realizing exactly how remote the location was and how devastated the land surrounding the cabin was from the fire that swept through the area back in 2015. Thankfully the view from the cabin looked out to a part of the forest that had been spared, but it's definitely a shocking sight if you've never been on burned land. It was reassuring to see how resilient Mother Nature is as we took our hikes around the property and spotted all the wild flowers, daffodil bulbs, and new leaves waking up to brighten up the scenery.
The cabin is adequately appointed and clean with plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glassware, and one AMAZING knife set! The cabin is heated by a wood burning stove and there's a gas range in the kitchen thankfully b/c we didn't have enough sunlight the last full day/night we were there, so had to power down the electrical supply to avoid burning out the battery. Electricity is required to heat and pump the water, however, so we had to wash dishes sparingly and forgo showering the last 36 hours we were there. We prepared most of our meals to bring and reheat which worked out well given there is very little space in the fridge to store fresh ingredients. Our cooler was handy for storing our fresh produce. All in all a great time!

The perfect weekend to connect with nature and family. The property was beautiful and the lake was refreshing after a short paddle. Mathew’s home had everything we needed and the cook in the family appreciated a well-appointed kitchen. I challenge all who stay to leave their electronics home, watch chipmunk’s and the Milky Way instead.
