3 nights at Green Apple Alpacas

My family absolutely loved camping out on Kandi & Marks farm! They were so friendly, accommodating, and great with my 2 young children. All of the animals on the farm were great and Levi the goat is so friendly and sweet we all agreed that we will have to come back to see him! We had fresh chicken, duck, quail, and goose eggs and fresh baked sourdough bread which was such a treat!

Weekend Trip to AYH Ranch Campground & Lodging

Quiet, relaxing area not too far from town with adorable shops and restaurants. My dogs and I loved having a trail system starting right from our camp spot, into a private forested area with a beautiful lake. We ran all around the lake and explored some of the offshoots as well. Also loved having a private, indoor space to use the restroom and shower, as well as a shared space to relax inside. Not a complaint whatsoever- but just an FYI to anyone tent camping with dogs: Hipcamp does not disclose or list the $5/dog fee for outside camping, and did not relay pet information to the host. Even though I listed 2 dogs on my reservation, the host does not see that on her end. Some kind of Hipcamp glitch. So, if you book on here and have dogs- make sure you reach out and let the host know. Wasn’t a big deal and host was understanding about waiting until I could get into town for cash to pay the pet fee. But, just so you’re not surprised when you arrive 🙂

Weekend Trip to Poulsbo Hidden Creek Hideaway

My family absolutely loved staying here and already want to stay again. The hideaway had everything we could need and more from dishes to extra blankets to keep warm and even a fire starter kit. The location was easy to find and Charnie was super quick with her responses if I did have a question. The location was also a perfect middle ground for wanting to spend time in Olympic and downtown Seattle. Next time we'll plan to spend more down time here just enjoying the property and all of the singing frogs.

2 nights at Forest Glen Cabin

Amazing location and features for the price! Cabin is a cute cozy lil lofted cabin with all the necessities for cooking, sleeping and exploring. There is not a place to shower but there is a cowboy tub which gets warm, that you can heat yourself. It is on a shared lot with some neighbors who were not present most of my visit, but other than that it pretty secluded and v close to the river. Host was also very kind and responsive! I don't know that dogs will be able to get up into the loft to sleep up there as the ladder is quite steep. Definitely definitely definitely worth the money.

Perfect little place that we wish we stayed longer at! It's beautiful, with an awesome view of the town below, a cute little cat to assist with the tent setup and keep you company while tending the fire, and all of the amenities listed indoors as well as some outdoor showers. The hot tub felt awesome after a long day of exploring, so don't miss that! If we do come back, we're planning to spend at least a couple days here.

Weekend Trip to Pacific Rim Institute

Exactly as listed, cute and well cared-for. The cots had thin inflatables to help cut the cold, so we didn't need to use ours. Our other friends camped in a nearby field this late March weekend and their tents were flattened by gusts all night long. We slept soundly, buffeted from the wind in our cute little hut. The dog-friendly aspect was what initially sold us, and we'd definitely be back to this darling spot when in the area.

Kandi and Mark were great hosts! We enjoyed the farm tour and they offered our kids to help feed the animals in the morning. They were also great when we discovered a nail in our tire just before leaving, requiring us to run to a tire shop to get it fixed, delaying our departure. They were very understandable and easy to work with. We would highly recommend staying here and would come back again.

5 nights at AYH Ranch Campground & Lodging

For my first experience in my van I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful space. Judy is an amazing host and manages a wonderful community space. Bathrooms, showers, and kitchen were clean and tidy. Being able to have my dog off leash and play in the field was awesome! It’s so good I extended my stay by another 5 days!

Stayed here 4 days to explore Whidbey Island with my dog. Wonderful stay - basic cabin with 2 cots. I'm a cold sleeper and my 30° degree sleeping bag + wool blanket was toasty! Cots + sleeping mats provided were comfy, I slept well. Saw 5 eagles soaring in the sky from the cabin window! 10/10 recommend, would like to stay here in the summer

1 night at Forest Glen Cabin

Michael thought of everything reality! The cabin has all you would need and more. Surrounded by lush green and within you’ll find warmth and coziness. Really the perfect place to stay after exploring the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. Budget friendly and dogs are welcome! Twas easy to find, even in the dark when I arrived. Cannot recommend this place enough. I will most definitely be back soon!

Such a lovely peaceful place to stop. Fantastic view of Mt. Baker and horses. We parked and relaxed. Fresh eggs, cute bathroom, great firepits and a fantastic platform tent. Recommend!!!

1 night at Pacific Rim Institute

This was such a cool property to stay on. Sam (one of the interns) gave me a tour of the place and made sure I had everything i needed. The cabin was less rustic than i had anticipated and was even furnished. If youre visiting in winter like I was definitely make sure you have enough gear with you to stay warm. The campsite had a firepit and wood provided.

Weekend Trip to Wildfern Grove

Absolutely LOVE this place. We've been three times now and It's our happy place. Easy to get to, secluded, quiet, afforable and love all the amenities there, including the outdoor showers and clothing optional cedar hot tub. The owner is very friendly, responds quick to questions and is helpful. I can't recommend this place enough! Go to unplug, relax and recharge. You won't regret it.

Pacific Rim Institute

This land has passed through many families but was first "managed" by Salish Indians who burned the prairie and harvested native plants for food, medicine, clothing, charms and more for 10,000 years. When European settlers arrived in the 1850s, burning the prairie all but ceased and that, along with the introduction of many new exotic species of animals, crop plants and weeds, began the degradation of the landscape. Over time our site was used to graze sheep and then raise pheasants (from 1944-1999). It was slated for housing development but several citizens rose up and prevented that from happening. Now the Pacific Rim Institute, a private nonprofit organization is the steward of this precious jewel of central Whidbey and the Pacific Northwest. We have a five-acre remnant prairie with over 80 species of native plants - critical to the restoration of degraded lands throughout the Salish Sea region. We have over two miles of walking trails for you. They traverse our prairie, savannas and forests. The land is full of color when the native wildflowers bloom from early spring through early autumn. We have a Native Plant Center where we grow up to 50 species of rare native plants. Ask us for a tour.

You will not be renting separately from someone else. There is power for RV hook up close by. with additional room for more tents. There is a CLEAN custom made vault restroom for both men/women with lots of wall reading plagues for your bathroom entertainment!!! Also, an instant hot water tank for a shower for guest to use between May 1 thru November 1 of each year.. There are two picnic table, a covered kitchen area, just bring your own water to wash dishes. There is an above ground wood fire pit. A covered gazebo over another wood pit that is shared with Bruce and Lynn during rainy times. For an additional fee, a wheel barrel full of good dry wood for $25.00 keep in mind it may be a bit wet in the 2025 year due not having enough time to thoroughly dry out. Owners live on property but you’ll have 100% privacy at river (unless you want to kick it with a couple cool cats like us). The listing is for eight people on the property but if you choose to bring additional guest, it will be five dollars per night per guest ages 5 and above. (please do not include 5 and under in your booking to ensure you are not charged. But we do ask you do list everyone 5 and above so we know who will be on property. We are a recycle family so please use our recycle bins but you must take out your own garbage when you leave. We will provide you with two large garbage bags. We ask that you remove your shoes while in yurts. Animals are welcome and they can be inside the yurts, we ask they stay off furniture/beds. Also, we provide doggie poo bags and a shovel so pick up what they leave behind them. We have a camp box that can be rented if you want to camp but do not have typical camping supplies. We are in process of collecting menus from local restaurants and can provide details for local activities. You can fish from our rivers edge but you must have a fishing license and know the fishing regulations in order to not be fined. Wifi in on property. The *Purple Cottage* -- was found & salvaged (recycled!)-- moved onto the back of my property in 2012. This 16 X 12' place has been my studio in the past, but has offered overflow for friends & family. Nestled in the woods and ever-so-private, the cottage has a pull-out double futon, plus a small sleeping loft and can accommodate 1 -2 nicely (we will consider 3 if you have a small child, but it would be a tight fit!... There is a very small sleeping loft in the cottage.). The cottage offers privacy in a wooded garden setting. The bathhouse, with hot shower, vanity and; toilet --all steps away (and covered) from the main cabin. The Purple Cottage sits on a shy wooded acre, with greenbelt buffers all around, maximizing the sense of privacy. We have a vintage Shasta Trailer across the driveway of the Purple Cottage, which is currently used as a music studio (and rarely as family/guest overflow), and I have my own small Artist Studio located also on the back of the property. Still, with all the little enclave of buildings, the Purple Cottage Studio retains a private feel all to itself. It is located in a quiet little neighborhood, about 6 miles from Langley & 6 miles from Freeland.. Private beach access is across the road and a 15 minute walk up the street, where you can beach comb & explore the shoreline out at our little point. We are located 6 miles from the picturesque town of Langley and equal distance from Freeland, on the south end of Whidbey. Our area is very *bike-able* and either direction will get you to town! The Purple Cottage offers a rustic retreat in a place that feels far away, but is an hour & a half from the bustling city of Seattle! There is reliable wifi available (especially now that the cottage has it's own line! Okay . Beach access is a short walk away.

Driver will need to backdown our long driveway to park in the designated site on the side of our house. Please no more than three people and one vehicle. We may be able to make accommodations based on your situation but please message us first! We can only accommodate towable rvs no larger than 20ft in total length including trailer tongue. You must be able to backdown long driveway and park tow vehicle on street. Campfires are welcome in the designated fire pit at the bottom of our hill. Please note there are quite a few steep steps to get there. Please request using this area in advance. Option to purchase farm fresh eggs from our neighbors chickens. Half dozen are $5.00 and can be requested in advance. We operate our rental business out of our home so you may encounter driveway traffic during your stay.

We are in the process of finshing our outdoor room (needs the roof put on). MUST bring your own water and remove all potty waste and trash. We reccomend you bring a flash light, extension chord for power, and possibly a snow shovel to get into the driveway. Well behaved pets that you clean up after are allowed if disclosed at check in. Note the back of our property is not fenced. *No smoking or illegal drugs at all. *No parties or entertaining. Bring a flash light as it can be very dark and a snow shovel during snow season. Our road usually gets plowed at some point but not the driveway - you may need to shovel show to get into the driveway and open the gate. Paved road 1 away from the South Fork Skykomish River. About a quarter mile away from the Highway and railroad - you can hear the train in the distance but it is not right close to you like many others in this area. NOTE: The trailer kept on sight is not available. There are 2-3 piles of wood and building materials - perhaps covered with a tarp - please leave those alone. Roof to be completed soon. You are welcome to use the outdoor room and chairs, and gas grill (But will need to bring propane) We reserve the right to check the property and trailer at any time. We are working on adding some more spots to accommodate more vehicles soon. We have cameras outside just so we know you get in alright.
