This land sat vacant for about ten years until I started bringing it back to life last year. While the property is in its early stages, it still has much to offer! It has a few acres at the bottom of the valley with a creek that rolls through it. The remaining land is stunning mountain acreage, which you can explore. There are many unique sections of the mountains, but at a minimum, be sure to see the mountain spring! It's like a fairytale back there most of the year...

We are located 10 minutes from the interstate and Winterplace Ski Resort and just 20 minutes from New River Gorge State Park. Corn hole boards, swings, campsite cookers and chairs are provided.
Want to see 5 star panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains? This ultra-safe, ultra-private property is located only 10 minutes off interstate 77. There is only one farm past ours so road traffic is very minimal. Plenty of room to do what you and your pets want to do while exploring our 60 acres. The sun rises up behind the view and lets you see just a little further. It is nothing short of amazing. The sunrises are always different and some are the most beautiful you have ever seen. The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. The best part is no long walks, you can park at the campsites and camp on flat ground. Each campsite features chairs, a bench, a swing and a camp cooktop that is fueled by your campfire. Nothing is needed to use the cook tops other than a campfire. The local area has lots to do. Several National Parks, rivers and trails. View stars as only those miles away from any light can experience. The crickets and whippoorwills will sing you to sleep. Google link, trail map, and campsite location map will be emailed the day before arrival. The onsite Porta John is cleaned on the 15th every month.

One mile down the road from the farm is the Virginia Creeper Trail, renowned for biking, but as a multi-use trail, you can also enjoy walking, running, horseback riding, fishing, cross country skiing, and geocaching.
South Holston Lake is only minutes away by vehicle, with two public access boating ramps 10 to 20 minutes away.

We became caretakers of this lovely property in June of 2021, moving from our existing farm, 45 minutes away. When we got it, it was a blank slate of a hayfield, and we have spent the summer laying infrastructure so that we may grow our cut-flower, honey, and vegetable business.

The Firefly is nestled between trees, on a loud, rushing creek, on a five acre property that is mostly cleared and on a hard surface dead end rd, a few miles from Hillsville, Va. The firefly is comfortable for a small family or a romantic get away for couples. The creek is stocked with trout, with easy access along the creek, perfect for wading, floating, and relaxing to the noise. This was a great stay. I stayed in one of the treehouse cabins. It was bright and full of windows, little porch out front, both large enough and cozy at the same time. I had a view of nothing but trees, clean bathroom to myself, personal firepit and Adirondack chairs, grill, privacy but could easily get to the main house. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and because I wanted a little light at night, they offered a large battery with a lightbulb that was perfect for lighting the cabin. They also included a pitcher for drinking from the spring on the property, which I filled and used daily. 10/10 would stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Firefly tent on the creek bank
This stop was absolutely worth it. Our family had one night at this spot in our way to NC and everyone wanted to stay longer. Playing in the creek was refreshing. Steaks on the grill, everyone says they were the best steaks ever and are now begging for us to get this grill. Singing around the fire and ending the night with a nice shower under the stars. Bed was comfortable and the toilet was nice to have. Can’t wait to visit again! Thank you for sharing this his beautiful spot!

Phenomenal spot. Very private - you will not have signal when you get there or on the way in so save Missy’s instructions! Also be sure to bring TP and paper towels - there was enough for one night but don’t count on it for more than that. Overall stunning spot and would absolutely stay here again. Maybe five cars total passed by down the mountain in 24 hours, but you can hardly see or hear them at all and there’s a creek in between so I didn’t have to worry about my dog. I also think I saw a review that said there were Adirondack chairs by the fire, but none while I was there. I brought a gravity chair so again no big deal, but be sure to bring your own camp or lounge chairs for around the fire.
Weird note - we did come across an off-leash beagle on our morning walk that chased us home (probably friendly but I picked this spot specifically because my dog is dog-aggressive, so not ideal for us).

This experience was exactly as described online! Scott and crew were tremendously helpful and communicative. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. It ended up being a total rain out when we were there but there was a TV and fun games for the entire family to enjoy. This was my second stay at Stormbrew and both times we were the only ones there.
We ran into the owner’s daughter when we stopped by the bathroom at arrival and she was super nice - invited us to join her for a cookout if we wanted.
The site is tucked at the back of the property along the stream where it’s nice and quiet. The unit was fairly simple but cozy. You may need a solar fan during the summer for extra air flow though.

I loved it! The vibe was just what the doctor ordered. The heater took the chill off the bus quickly and once it had my twinkle lights up, I felt right at home. I liked how the place felt tucked away but was easily accessible to the outside world. Loved all the paintings and quotes in the inside of the bus. Recommend bringing enough lighting for what you want your experience to be inside the bus, they provide a nice automated light when you open the bus door to get to the Porto potty, the rest is up to you! The bed is solid and everything was clean and ready for a wonderful night off the grid! Enjoy!

Weekend Trip to Stay by the New River
Stayed here for my second time, just as impressed as I was after my first visit. The land is close to the National Park with proximity to and a beautiful view of the New River. With the heater and fan within the shack any temperature for sleeping can be found. The cots are comfortable and the bathroom is clean. Met the host this trip and she was very nice and accessible. There are chairs and a fire pit along the bank of the river that provide a wonderful sunset experience. Just know once the sun goes behind the mountains on the other side of the gorge it can get chilly, even on a warm day.
I will continue to heavily recommend this site and plan to return.
