Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. Evensong Farm is a preserved historic farm adjacent to the Antietam National Battlefield. We have set up two, almost identical, sites on a 60 acre parcel of our farm which is very private for our campers, but allows access to the lovely Antietam Creek. The sites themselves are about 500 feet apart so, while they maintain privacy when booked by different parties, can also be booked together for group stays. We have been hosting campers at our "glampsites" since 2021. Each off-grid site has a 12x16 platform with a 10x12 canvas side wall tent, a firepit and chairs, a cooking area with a grill and sink for washing up, a picnic table and benches, and a private bathroom with a composting toilet and solar shower bag. The main tent is set up for 2 people, although 4 is possible. The sites can handle a max of 12 people, with the use of additional tents (BYO or you can set up some of ours). We provide an electronic camp guide to all of our campers that include our recommendations for things to do in the area, as well as camping tips and other handy info. Inside the tent you will find a queen size bed, side tables, and a cafe table and chair set. We have put down foam flooring and a carpet for your comfort and provide numerous battery powered lights, lanterns and fans. In cold months we can add a propane heater to keep the chill away. We also have some games, maps of the area, decks of cards, and a fire extinguisher. Stepping outside the tent you'll find our long rainfly creates a covered porch where you can relax on our provided chairs. There are additional chairs around the firepit and each firepit has a cooking grate so you can cook over your campfire. We provide one bundle of firewood (including kindling) per night with your reservation. We do sell additional firewood, if needed. In our kitchen area you will find a picnic table and chairs, 5 gallons of drinking water, a clean up table that includes a foot operated pump sink with an additional 5 gallons of washing water, a grill (one site has propane and the other has charcoal), trash and recycling bins, grill tools, lighters, plus dish and hand soaps. Our farm is a mile and a half from the town of Sharpsburg, MD, home of the Antietam National Battlefield (and Nutter's Ice Cream Shop). You will find the Appalachian Trail to our east and the C&O Canal to our west (10 minute drive to either).

We DO have good Wifi in all buildings THIS IS REAL FARM COUNTRY Fresh local produce available at innumerable Orchard stands throughout the year. This includes milk and ice cream :) , Apples, Peaches, Plums, Cherries, Strawberries, and all types of veggies and meats. The summer kitchen and its loft are outfitted as they would have been in the Victorian times, with implements for cooking, canning, candle making, herb and plant processing, braided rug making. etc. Also, part of the stable is set up as a eating area, and the barn and hayloft as a hands on Farm museum to explore. Old fashioned games and rope swings and Arts and Crafts for additional fun.

Don’t even think about it. Best glamping experience! The hosts are very responsive. Get their blueberry scones! Loved that the space is very private with beautiful views. We enjoyed the sheep right outside our window. The amenities are excellent. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Weekend Trip to Our Farm in Strasburg, VA

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Full Moon dome. 2 adults and 3 large dogs had PLENTY of space both inside and outside to rest and relax. We LOED watching the sheep outside the large dome window while drinking coffee in the mornings (French press provided!). There was plenty of firewood for the firepit and a propane grill nearby - we had such a peaceful experience. Highly recommend ordering some popovers and banana nut w/ chocolate chip muffins! We ordered the night before and Remy had them made and packaged in a wonderful picnic basket by 08300 the next morning! And while you're there, pick up some fresh grass-fed steak for grilling bringing home. Directions: site navigation was very easy. Custom road, parking, and site signs made it very easy to find the dome at night, All linens for both bed and futon are provided so we didn't need to worry about packing bedding/pillows etc Traveled in early November and didn't have any issues with bugs like mosquitoes or ticks. Compost toilet in the dome was such a luxury and easy to use. Tips/tricks: bring a bucket or bowl for gray water. You'll need a way to wash plates/utensils, french press, hands etc.

We loved camping at Julie’s! When we arrived she help get us to the site (it was dark out already) and showed us around. Every amenity was thought of. There were even cute lights on the cooking tent and on the walk to the other site. We rented both sites for our large group. The property is beautiful and we had the best time!

We had such a great visit! The owner let us join him to feed the animals which were all so friendly. The A frames were adorable but note that you are literally only provided with a mattress with sheets and that you should bring chairs to sit around the fire and blankets if it is going to be cold. Had an amazing stay and would recommend to all my friends looking for slightly more comfortable camping where you have to bring minimal gear!

4 nights at Camping on the Hazel River

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin! I communicated with Peggy through the HipCamp app, and she was very responsive and helpful. When we arrived, Tony met us at the parking area, showed us to the cabin, and took the time to explain how everything worked. He was incredibly kind, accommodating, and genuinely wanted to make sure we had a great experience. The cabin itself was spotless, rustic, and very cozy — exactly what we were hoping for. It has just the right amount of amenities: a small fridge, microwave, toaster oven, running water, and just enough hot water for a quick shower. The outdoor shower was one of our favorite parts — it felt peaceful and refreshing every time we used it. Before our trip, we asked if there was a way to cook outside, and Tony went above and beyond. He actually built a wonderful fire pit setup designed for cooking, which we used every day. It was such a fun and memorable part of our stay, and Tony even provided all the firewood we could possibly need. The property is beautiful, well maintained, and surrounded by about one to two miles of lovely hiking trails. It was quiet, private, and felt like our own little hideaway in nature. Tony gave us plenty of space while still being available if we needed anything. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a cozy, peaceful escape!

We really loved our stay here, such a beautiful location! There’s already a fire pit, grill, hammock and table which is great. Camp cats are a plus for us!!! Usually we tent camp but we have a baby and with the cold nights/mornings this time of year, this was perfect. Loved being close to showers and restrooms - only downfall was people from another location drove multiple cars down and used our already shared bathhouse. The first night was fine as this didn’t happen but the second night and morning there was at least 10 additional people which really made it difficult. We left an hour later than planned because they filled the bathhouse our morning of departure and we had to wait for them to leave. Not sure if this is typical but that was a negative for us as it’s already shared with other cabins.
