Whisper Creek was founded in 1999. It has been the gathering place for many great friends and camping adventures. WC can hardly be camping, more like Glamping! This is a very private and quiet location. You can settle in knowing that this listing includes a covered picnic area. Which has counter space for food prep and cooking that includes a small sink. But remember, it’s camping so you’ll need to come prepared with a camp stove for cooking, although I do have charcoal and propane grill’s at the picnic area. Fire pit for awesome evening camp fires with free split firewood on hand. All I ask is that you burn it like you split and stacked it. You can gather and relax under the covered picnic area for dinner preparation and/or lounging. We are located within an hour from Wintergreen, numerous wineries, craft beer locations and numerous hiking destinations. Harmony Hut has fresh linens but please bring sleeping bags and/or sheets for the screened in bunkhouse. River access to the James River is a short drive to Howardsville. There you will also find a General Store which offers you the basics, such as Beer, Wine, Ice and a few grocery items. They make the best homemade sandwiches and grilled burgers. Direct river access can be provided via special request. I can also provide shuttling services. But this needs to be mentioned well before your stay as I don't live up there year around.

The nearest towns are Charlottesville, Scottsville, and Palmyra.  Within 5 miles, enjoy amazing canoeing, hiking, fishing, and disc golf.  Hosts will greet campers and are generally around to address any issues or questions, but the site is totally private, so you’ll enjoy plenty of seclusion during your visit.  About the listing The tiny house has three twin sized beds; one on the main level and the other two lofted above the main floor on opposite sides and accessed by a ladder. There is also ample space for setting up a tent outside of the tiny house and some campers have even managed to pull a small 8x10 trailer into the campsite.  Take advantage of access to a private fire pit during your stay. There is also a stove in the cabin to keep you warm. The outhouse features a pit toilet.  Additional details to note Early check-in or late checkout can be managed on a case by case note, depending on whether or not the campsite has other reservations. Pets are allowed. The property is a working farm, so please respect the animals and those who are working and be sure to close the gate behind you if you opened it.  There is no kitchen in the tiny home, but some minimal and random cookware is provided, along with a small camping stove, if you would like to bring your own camping stoves.  Running water is not available in the cabin. Staying at Walnut Cabin offers peace and nature connection. Located on a 7 acre homestead near the Blueridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail and Lynchburg, VA. The cabin is located on an old apple orchard and budding homestead. It is off-grid and powered by solar. It is a short walk from the parking area (75 steps uphill). The cabin is one room with a kitchenette, hot outdoor shower, and outdoor compost toilet. The cabin can sleep up to three people with a queen bed, futon, and pullout couch. The kitchen includes a gas range, mini fridge, a sink with running water, and basic kitchen cook wear. A propane heater is available for extra warmth on a chilly night. A shelf equipped with books and board games. A propane grill sits on the front porch, and a fire pit out front. The hot outdoor shower and compost toilet are 25 steps from the front door tucked into the tree line. The pond sits in front of the cabin, a picnic table sets by the edge. We love living simply, and immersed in nature, and have designed the space for others who also share this passion. We often see deer, turkey, bear, fox, and coyote. Maybe you will too! You will love reading your book by the pond while listening to the frog chorus, and taking your evening shower while gazing upon the ancient oaks. Our location is 15 minutes from the Appalachian Trail and James River access. The Jefferson Washington National Forest is nearby and offers opportunities for visiting waterfalls, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, and paddling. Downtown Lynchburg is 20 minutes away with great restaurants, farmers markets and shopping. We are a growing homestead. We are planting fruits trees, cultivating shiitake mushrooms, raising ducks and tending gardens here and have farm fresh products that are seasonally available to guests just ask! The farm at present grows small fruits and seasonal vegetables. We have Strawberry picking in the Spring. We raise laying hens for egg production along with geese, ducks, peacocks and turkeys. Peace like a river, love like a mountain Wintergreen Resort we’re not, but if you’re looking for a cozy (800-900 sq. ft.) mountain cabin with most of the comforts of home, Rocky Run Landing might be the place for you. Our motto is “You’re a long way away from it all before you ever get here.” Rocky Run Landing sits back in a loblolly pine grove just under the crest of Hawk Ridge in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cabin is two miles up the Tye River from the village of Norwood and the James River in southern Nelson County, Virginia. The address is 3124 Cedar Creek Road, Arrington, VA 22922. The cabin has a telephone, but no long distance service. Your calling card will work with this phone. You’ll have to find just the right spot to use your cell phone. Wireless internet is available via satellite. Rocky Run Landing consists of a small first-floor bedroom, a small loft bedroom, a bath and a half, kitchen/dining area, and a great room. The great room has two sleep futons, chairs, and a small TV/DVR with cable. A wood stove is also in the great room. The small kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, deep sink, gas range, coffeemaker, and microwave oven. A dining table and four chairs are provided, along with basic pots, pans, and tableware. Rocky Run Landing has central HVAC, but often all you need are the ceiling and pedestal fans. The best experience is al fresco! The small first floor bedroom features a queen bed, nightstand and lamp, and a chest of drawers. Bed linens, blankets, pillows, and towels are also provided. The half-bath is off this bedroom and adjoins the full bath. Electric wall heaters provide auxiliary heat in the bedroom and bathrooms. The bedroom also has a couple of very small closets, which are the only clothes closets in the cabin. The staircase to the small loft is very steep and is not recommended for older guests or the very young. The loft is furnished with a double bed. A hiking trail and a gravel road will take you the 1/3-mile to the Tye River, but be warned — both are steep. You’ll need a 4-wheel-drive vehicle to drive to the river. You’ll need good legs to walk back to the cabin. By the riverside you'll find a well-groomed recreation area with picnic tables shaded by a canopy of white ash and river birch, a fire ring, and, in the summer, even a porta-potty. A 'beach' is cleared to the river. At normal water levels, this spot on the Tye is appropriate for supervised child's play and for adult water recreation. Fishing is also fine! History has it that the Tye River was Teddy Roosevelt's favorite fishing stream. Rocky Run Landing is a good location to either begin or end a paddling or tubing trip on the Tye/James Rivers. A canoe is available for rental and your hosts can assist with planning river trips from one-half mile to 20 miles (overnight). Shuttle service is included with canoe rental. Tubes are also available for a lazy drift downstream. Charcoal grills may be requested for use at the cabin or in the riverside picnic area (guests provide charcoal). The screened porch offers a serene view of Buffalo Ridge to the south across the river (if the leaves aren't too thick). Turn on the porch ceiling fans, relax in the porch swing, and whistle back to the whippoorwills. As the evening gets quiet, let the roar of the Tye River rapids lull you to sleep. If you decide you’d like to forgo seclusion and venture into the outside world during your stay, many places of interest are within a day trip of Rocky Run Landing. Jeffersonian and other historic properties abound, Civil War sites are easily accessible, Wintergreen Resort offers a variety of activities, and kid-friendly excursions are within kid-tolerance driving distance. Your hosts will be happy to recommend itineraries based on your interests and will check with Wintergreen to ensure any desired activity is available. Many wineries, breweries, and cideries are also in the area, along with local artisan shops. Rocky Run Landing is appropriate for a family vacation, spiritual sojourn, romantic escape, adventure quest, artist's or writer's retreat, friends' get-away, or sight-seeing base. Free canine companionship is offered for animal lovers!

Christina’s cabin is an excellent gateway for those new to camping or hesitant about the outdoors. The space strikes a thoughtful balance—immersed in nature, yet equipped with key comforts. The cabin itself is charming, well-maintained, and surprisingly private thanks to a thick natural screen of trees. The bed was comfortable, the solar power reliable (I had no trouble keeping a laptop and phone charged), and the overall experience felt easy and welcoming. Christina was warm and generous, even offering to let me pick fresh strawberries from her garden—though I didn’t get the chance to take her up on it. I’d recommend this spot to most people, especially anyone looking to ease into the camping experience without sacrificing comfort or privacy.

We had so much fun staying here! The swing was a big hit for my 11 year old. He loved it. The entire property is beautiful and well setup for guests. It was easy to walk around and explore. The RV was super cute and had everything we needed. I definitely recommend getting some water and the mushrooms. Having water on site made things so much easier and the mushrooms were delicious. Would definitely go back again!

I loved this little secluded retreat! I'm a 42 yr old female and I felt completely safe staying there by myself. The only two things I'll mention that I think people should be aware of. One is that the toilet is kinda more like a glorified outhouse. I've never seen anything like it and it was very awkward to use. I wound up just using the woods after a couple of uses. The other thing was that the bed was difficult getting into and out of due to the railing of the sliding door; and I'm a small flexile person. I think anyone larger than me would struggle. I really enjoyed my stay, but I think those are two major things renters should be aware of in case they are important to you.

Our 4-year-old wanted to go camping (first time!) for his birthday, and this was the perfect location. Directions for arrival were easy to follow, and our drive through the cow pasture was the ideal start. The site is private and comfortable, and Clinton met us a few minutes after we arrived to give us an overview of the location. Between the nearby stream, multiple walking paths, and the comfort of the tiny house, it was an excellent experience. We'll definitely be returning and would highly recommend - especially for younger campers.

Electricity and running water in the bus, and a flipbook with the origin story of the bus, and restaurant recs including Hidden Wit Brewery where we enjoyed music bingo while the kids ran around a play yard with new friends. A peaceful trail on the property. Recommend!

The Farm was originally named 2nd 4o by my parents. They planned to live the 2nd forty years of their lives together on the farm. My parents both grew up on the southside of Chicago - where having a tree in your yard meant that you had "made it". They decided to use the land to grow Christmas Trees. This did not last long :) - but the saplings my dad planted by hand are still here & maybe 70' tall! Then my husband & I bought The Farm in 2017 for the 2nd forty years of our life & my parents built their little house right here. My husband and I immediately knew that our dream was to grow a different kind of "tree", so in 2019 we were among the first group to receive our license to grow hemp. We are passionate about both the hemp and cannabis plants! In 2020 when it finally became legal to grow cannabis, we immediately added that to our garden as well and 2nd 40 to 420 was born, or shall I say planted. We currently rent out our 2 RV's 3 Yurts & primitive sites , we also offer group bookings & Canna-friendly B&B options. We plan to add septic & electric hook-ups for RV's in the near future. Three creek-side tent sites and an RV site in an enchanted forest! Enjoy well maintained walking trails, hidden treasure boxes, art and game station, scavenger hunts, gnome hide and seek, and learning about a working shiitake mushroom farm! All sites are spaced out for maximum privacy - see map! Each site includes a large propane grill, fire pit, solar string lights, tables and seating, hammocks, critter proof boxes for food, and firewood available for purchase (conveniently located at the site). Clean composting toilet (serviced 2x a day). Rental items include tents (we will set up for you), sleeping pads, coolers with ice, potable water jugs, and insect screens. Within a couple miles of Southern Revere Brewery/Winery and scenic Forrest Green Farm. There is a lot to do on the property: * 40 acres with a couple miles of trails you can hike or bike (map provided) * Self-guided tour of mushroom farm * Hidden creature scavenger hunt * Gnomes are hidden throughout the forest for you to find AND hide! * Hidden treasure boxes - take something and/or leave something!

Our skoolie is the perfect basecamp for outdoor adventures-30 minutes to Richmond and 5 minutes from the nearest trailhead at Pocahontas State Park with pass included. Our skoolie comes equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, but please read the full description to make sure this is the right experience for you! Please note the interior height is only 6 feet. *We are located in the woods with ticks, bugs, and other wildlife. We have provided bug spray and highly recommend you treat your dogs for ticks before arriving. *Beds Queen-sized bed in the back and the couch bed folds to a size slightly smaller than a full mattress, with bedding included. The bus will sleep 3 comfortably, 4 if you really like each other! *Full Kitchen Gas stove top. All kitchen utensils included. Kitchen sink with hot water and a 7 gallon jug underneath the sink that you will need to empty if full. *Bus Bathroom Composting toilet- for urinating only. *Main House Full Bathroom Full bathroom, shower, and laundry. If you are not comfortable with a 150ft walk to use the bathroom facilities, this may not be the ideal booking for you. *Electricity Has 2 USB outlets and a standard wall outlet. Try to charge your electronics during the day due to the solar panels, and do not use the wall outlet at night. Wifi is available. *Heating/Cooling A/C unit for summer. Diesel heater and wood stove for winter. *Outdoors Large charcoal grill (charcoal not provided). There is plenty of firewood to collect in the woods. Look for the gnomes and follow the trail from the campsite to the creek. Feel free to check out and feed our chickens! *Pets All pets are welcome! We do have a dog who is not able to access the camp area. Keep your dog on a leash unless able to come when called. *Guest access You will need to drive on a dirt road and over small roots to access the school bus. Cars are able to access the bus without difficulty. Parking at the front of the bus. *Extra guests Max of 4 guests to stay on the bus, but there is room to pitch a tent.
