My parents both grew up on the southside of Chicago - where having a tree in your yard meant that you had "made it". They decided to use the land to grow Christmas trees. History has it that the Tye River was Teddy Roosevelt's favorite fishing stream. Rocky Run Landing is a good location to either begin or end a paddling or tubing trip on the Tye/James Rivers. A canoe is available for rental and your hosts can assist with planning river trips from one-half mile to 20 miles (overnight). Shuttle service is included with canoe rental. The tiny house has everything you would need. It was cute, quiet, and the hot tub was perfect for the chilly autumn nights. There’s a projector screen right by hot tub which made for some spooky vibes. And the cute fenced in yard was perfect for our dog. The trailer was super cute. We loved the spot - it was very private with great sunrises. The bed was comfortable and the porch was a perfect spot to sit with a book. Walking trails start immediately behind the trailer and go on for days. We loved it!

First off the vibe when you arrive is amazing. You are greeted by a hug from Amy as soon as you arrive. It was like you had been on vacation and had made it home. You felt welcome and appreciated. You didn't meet a stranger everyone was hanging out swapping stories and it was amazing to meet so many different people. The food, trails, view etc was a fresh breath of air. Something that was needed but you received way more than you thought you needed. I left relaxed calm mellowed and renewed. Only bad complaint I can say was it was so hard and so sad to leave the farm and Amy and her crew. Felt like leaving family. I will definitely be back soon and bringing others that could get alot out of this place! Great job to Amy, her husband, her dad, her dogs, and the crew behind the scenes yall rock!! 👏 Peace and love it was amazing coexisiting with you guys!

Weekend Trip to Creekside Cool Bus

it was a pleasure to camp at the creekside cool bus! the whole experience came with ease, starting with great communication from chloe, the skoolie provided everything we needed (& more) for a cozy retreat into nature. there was plenty to explore, a gnome lined walking trail along the creek and a short drive to the state park. the campsite is isolated enough to have your own privacy but close enough to access the full bathroom. it really was the perfect place for reconnection with each other and nature.

Weekend Trip to Cambia Community

Beautiful property, we felt very welcomed. They set us up with some prepared firewood and wax cardboard starter to have a bonfire. We had rain throughout the evening, but the tent stayed 100% dry in our comfy bed. Perfect stopover for our road-trip.

This is a unique place to stay with lots to do all around it. The bus was well equipped with everything you need to enjoy a peaceful quiet vacation or long weekend. Hosts were excellent and very friendly! The property and creek were fun to explore. I highly recommend this location and will definitely be returning.

4 nights at FrogSong Doggie's Paradise

Frogsong was an incredible stay. Maybe our favorite ever actually. The house itself is sounique and beautiful, and the stream that is located only a couple of minutes away captured my heart and soul. There are very very few places as magical as frogsong, and even less that are available to stay at. Thank you Ken & Alice for offering your little slice of heaven!
