Whisper Creek was founded in 1999. It has been the gathering place for many great friends and camping adventures. WC can hardly be camping, more like Glamping!
This is a very private and quiet location. You can settle in knowing that this listing includes a covered picnic area. Which has counter space for food prep and cooking that includes a small sink.
But remember, it’s camping so you’ll need to come prepared with a camp stove for cooking, although I do have charcoal and propane grill’s at the picnic area.
Fire pit for awesome evening camp fires with free split firewood on hand. All I ask is that you burn it like you split and stacked it.
You can gather and relax under the covered picnic area for dinner preparation and/or lounging. We are located within an hour from Wintergreen, numerous wineries, craft beer locations and numerous hiking destinations.
Harmony Hut has fresh linens but please bring sleeping bags and/or sheets for the screened in bunkhouse.
River access to the James River is a short drive to Howardsville. There you will also find a General Store which offers you the basics, such as Beer, Wine, Ice and a few grocery items. They make the best homemade sandwiches and grilled burgers. Direct river access can be provided via special request. I can also provide shuttling services. But this needs to be mentioned well before your stay as I don't live up there year around.

My partner and I had such an amazing 2 night trip. The bed was super comfy and the cabin was really unique with a modern flare, yet warm and cozy inside. I highly recommend using the hot tub at night. It was so amazing sitting in there and looking up at the stars. Our host, Trevor, was wonderful. His hospitality, on making sure our stay, was flawless. 10 out of 10 for sure. We will definitely recommend this retreat. Thank you again, Trevor.

The tiny house has everything you would need. It was cute, quiet, and the hot tub was perfect for the chilly autumn nights. There’s a projector screen right by hot tub which made for some spooky vibes. And the cute fenced in yard was perfect for our dog. There’s also some trails to walk and we got to see some highland cows. Would definitely recommend! Thank you host

Harmony Hut is a cute little bungalow that has a few of the creature comforts of home like AC, ceiling fan, TV and Internet, while leaving you with the feeling of being in the woods and solitude. The outdoor hot shower is an awesome touch, as is the picnic shelter for cooking and eating. Be prepared to get a few steps in, but nothing difficult.

I loved this little secluded retreat! I'm a 42 yr old female and I felt completely safe staying there by myself. The only two things I'll mention that I think people should be aware of. One is that the toilet is kinda more like a glorified outhouse. I've never seen anything like it and it was very awkward to use. I wound up just using the woods after a couple of uses. The other thing was that the bed was difficult getting into and out of due to the railing of the sliding door; and I'm a small flexile person. I think anyone larger than me would struggle. I really enjoyed my stay, but I think those are two major things renters should be aware of in case they are important to you.

Harmony hut is the bomb. It’s a whole camp actually. First off, the host Mitch is great. He came and met us shortly after we arrived. He gave us the run down and scope of the property. He gave us his local recommendations after asking what our plans were. He hit on every one. Every place he told us about was great.
The who property is a really nice, but the camp that is associated with Harmony Hut is awesome for a family or just two. A pavilion with electric overlooks the back end of the camp. There is a bunk house, tree house and a Harmony hut all situated in close proximity. I’d never thought I’d say this but the outhouse was so nice. Deep natural outhouse that had no odor or funk. He has TP hand sanitizer, the whole setup is sweet. Mitch has covered (dry) firewood we burned in a fire ring every night. We had a blast….. and the hot shower on the back of the Harmony Hut washes away all the dirt and grunge accumulated for the Shenandoah National Park and make you feel human again. 10/10 do it again.
