Peace and quiet equals “Solitude at my farm. I’m just like you. I want to camp at a quiet place in the country where it’s plenty of acres and no houses to look at and a clean bathroom and shower. Well it’s here. I’m Located in Wakefield Virginia. If you’re traveling to Virginia Beach I’m one hour away. From my farm there is a free ferry in Scotland where the ferry departs to Williamsburg just 30 minutes. At my farm I have 5 sites for tent/camping so it’s spaced appropriately apart I have 2 Rv sites totally away for their privacy and a new mini house also properly spaced away. All have a clean picnic table and a fire pit. 100 feet away you’ll find that clean bathroom, shower and a wash station for hygiene. You’ll see the love I put into this and because I love it and my prior guests love it, which means it may be right for you also. In the town of Wakefield you’ll find gas stations, dollar stores, a Value food market and if you want (to go) food we have that also. Plus it’s home to The Virginia Diner. Amenities include toilet access, a shower, trash disposal, picnic tables, and potable water. Pets are allowed, as are campfires.

Great location only 15 min off I-95. Far enough away from the city and roads to see the stars at night, close enough for easy access to all modern conveniences. Accessible by a paved road. A path is cut right through the property for ease to find your ideal camping location.
You can park your vehicle off the paved road or on the property itself. There is a creek a few hundred yards into the property that's not crossable by vehicle. A vehicle can pull onto the property via the cutout road but I wouldn’t pull an RV/vehicle with a trailer onto it.

The place was awesome and beautiful. ALOT of space all to your self. The host was fantastic didn't bother us unless we asked him for stuff. Opened his entire place to me and my family and let us do what we wanted. He let my kids pet, clean, brush, ride, feed the horses. We asked and he had no problem doing that for my young kids for a small extra fee. He's great, the place is great and private. Trails to hike through as well. We ll be going back many times for a quick quiet getaway. Oh and he let my daughter chase the sheep! She was dying to play with that thing and he let her go. Cant say enough great things about the host and place.

The site was great for camping of any sort for a self-sufficient camper. I was only there 1 night so I put my tent, etc under a tarp and slept in my SUV. I knew there was an outhouse, and it far surpassed the one I grew up with-no bad smells or bugs! The site itself was straightforward with a picnic table and fire pit. The heavy wooded area to the north contributed to my feeling of being in the forest. There was no noise from traffic to
dampen my enthusiasm. I had hoped to get some pictures of the night sky but I had not planned well enough because the moon was full and outshone the stars all night. The map feature from Hipcamp worked well when I was searching for the site and my GPS took me back to civilization when I had to leave.

This was a beautiful place to stay. Candace and her husband were so welcoming and friendly. There’s a nice gazebo area, clean bathrooms, and a pool. We enjoyed walking around their farm visiting the cows and goats and watching the ducks waggle about. Highly recommend.

I had the whole property to myself on the holiday weekend. Very quiet. Nice little shed tucked up against the woods. I stayed hunkered down most of my trip. It was raining/snowing, very peaceful. There are two picnic tables on site, plus a fire pit. The shed features an awning over its porch with two Adirondack chairs for your convenience. The site overlooks the field.
I used a Mr buddy heater inside the shed for the night. I really got some warmth going.
I recommend this site to anyone looking for some true SOLITUDE!
