This is unmanaged land. The two track path cut through it is the only open space. Otherwise it is very dense and marshy. There are some spots along the two track that could be easily cleared for tent sites or turnarounds. I can't say I explored the entire track as, after crossing the creek, the path was completely under above ankle deep water and the water spread out beyond the track. Since it was unknown whether going further would provide anymore dry track and it was known that the forest would remain thick, we didn't explore further. The track is very rutted and there is no gravel. I drove in far enough to be out of site of the road. There is no place to park on property, roadside, and walk in. There is room to park across the road on the side, but you'd be leaving your car unattended on a traveled, neighborhood road. I backed out without issue. I drive a 2 wheel drive F250 with a Lance camper on the back. For our walks I took my dogs off property, across the road, and walked some old railroad tracks, as the property did not have much available space.

This place is pretty basic, you get what you get and is very secluded. I loved it myself but some might think it’s not enough. As said in other reviews you can not turn around and to get past the creek you need a 4x4. My subi outback just wasn’t tall enough. But I’d come here again.

Super quiet area and was able to relax and see the stars and such. I would recommend a vehicle with some clearance though due to when we were there, the path was deeply rutted in some areas. We would definitely choose this site again and make sure to bring mosquito and tick spray!

Super quiet and dark sky location, the stars were amazing here. If there has been any rain, bring rubber boots and you'll likely need a 4x4, if you plan on entering the property too far. Ruts filled with water kept us close to the paved road. A late arrival and early departure kept us from exploring more. But the price is right and it's easy to find just outside of Emporia.

Scott was accommodating to allow us to book late in the evening. He was very quick to reply to my messages even being fairly late in the evening. We wanted to find the best spot to go where would have the best chance for snow tracking this winter storm. It was a great spot. Plenty of room for our Bronco and Gladiator. We will be back for sure!

Tent camping here was fun and you truly are by yourself. I heard some wacky animal noises at night that I’m still unsure about. But otherwise, it’s a very private little bit of nature not too far from civilization.

This spot sounded ideal but my friend was adamant that I stay at his house rather than sleeping outside, so I relented. Knowing this place exists however, brings a smile to my face.

My husband, myself and our two dogs LOVED camping here. It was the epitome of seclusion, yet close enough to civilization. Highly recommend!!

As described, huge empty property with plenty of room for our dog to roam around. Easy to find with the directions that were provided and the host was quick to respond to questions. We only stayed one night, but would book again in the future.

Nice spot to camp. Off on your own with noone around. Ample wood for a fire and space to set up. I had no problem accessing the site, the directions provided by the owner were perfect. Only issue was the sound of traffic on rout 58 in the morning, not the hosts fault, it is what it is.

My dog and I spent six nights camping here recently. I loved having the 50 acres all to ourselves. My dog loved being able to wander freely. We ended up camping on the path that runs through the piece. With a 4-wheel drive vehicle perhaps you could camp deeper in. It’s totally off-grid. No tent pad, no water, no electricity, no wifi. I carried in everything we needed, from tents to water to bathroom facilities. It was wonderful looking up at the stars at night and listening to all the birds surrounding us in the woods. We even saw deer while there. Civilization is just 10 minutes up the road. It was my first primitive camping trip and Scott’s place was perfect for that experience.

I needed a place to set up camp at the last minute and was grateful to discover this place. There was a creek and plenty of space to choose for a tent site. My dog loved it.
