The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Electricity on site, primitive fire pit, but no other facilities, so ALL waste must be packed out. We have a bucket commode to loan if you don’t have your own.

Access the Long Trail at multiple locations within a few miles. BIKING Bike the back roads of the area—wooded areas, windy or flat terrain, beautiful views, plenty of spots to rest beside a flowing stream. Or, access the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (93+ miles of non-motorized riding/walking on a converted and maintained railway bed). FISHING/HUNTING In the mountains we have streams, brooks, and rivers. There are many hotspots for fishing—lots of brook trout! No matter the rod you use, there are many places to try your skills. A fishing/hunting license is needed. CANOE, KAYAK, TUBE Got your own? Bring it! The Lamoille River is a few miles away and a favorite for water lovers. Don't have one, there is a great rental place down the road where you can take one out for the day. Looking for another option to the river? The Belvidere Pond is down the road and offers a peaceful place to paddle around surrounded by the mountains. MAPLE SYRUP/SUGARBUSH Want to learn about the maple sugaring process? We are always happy to give you a tour of our sugarhouse and the woods, and explain how we turn the tree sap into yummy Maple Syrup. (We only boil January-early April.) We do have this year's crop bottled and available for sale! Buy one for morning pancakes, to add to your morning coffee, or to take home! WILDLIFE/BERRIES/MUSHROOMS/FIDDLEHEADS Depending on the time of the year, you can find wild raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms, and fiddleheads. (Please do not pick or eat something if you don't know if it is poisonous!) And, wildlife are around. Look for tracks in the soil, signs they have been there, or if you are really quiet (usually in the early morning or at dusk) you might see deer, geese, or wild turkeys! OTHER ACTIVITIES - Smugglers Notch is a quick drive (South) - Jay Peak is a quick drive (North) - Disc Golf, Ropes Course, Golf, and more. - Access local eateries like the Burger Barn - a local favorite, grap a yummy sandwich or pizza at the Cupboard. - Explore local breweries and distilleries - Forgot something? Please be prepared to provide your own camping toilet and pack out your trash. If you bring your dog(s), please clean up after them and have "control" as the dirt road is fully in view of the sites. This 150-acre property has been in our family for 32 years and now houses three generations. Built in 1900 it was a traditional dairy farm until the 50's and 60's when potatoes were planted on the fields for the Boston and New York markets. By the 70's and 80's it became a gentleman's farm for a retired couple from New York City and the dairy farmers nearby hayed the fields. When we purchased the property in 1993 we continued offering the hay, built greenhouses, planted vegetable and flower gardens, ran a traditional Bed and Breakfast, now airbnb. We leased some of the fields to a local organic seed company for 13 years until they purchased their own property. The farm remains certified organic and is still being hayed by a local dairy farm, the gardens are community managed using regenerative and sustainable practices when ever possible. In the commercial garden, seed crops are being planted once again. Much of the cultivated agricultural land is protected under the Vermont Land Trust, to ensure that it remains used for agricultural purposes. We love to share our farm and forest with others. In addition to our very intentional farming operations, you can find wild edibles tucked away on forest trails. Wildlife and wildflowers abound. Views and sunsets. Check out the 968 acre wildlife management area that abuts the property. Plenty of trails through the woods leading to Wolcott Pond and hidden beaver huts and dams. Children 12 and under no charge. Our little pond behind the big greenhouse has filled up a bit more this spring which you are welcome to use for dipping or frog watching. Carry in and carry out property, Drive on field's edge only. We love camping, and when we decided that state campgrounds and the like were just too busy, we found this amazing, secluded property on a small lake with no public access. There is a cabin on the property, which is available for limited rentals. However, we have a great flat yard just a short (2 min) walk to South Pond thats perfect for a tent. There's a rustic outhouse, fire pit, picnic table, and usually games like badminton setup. Our property is a couple miles down a private dirt road. Fishing is great (with a license of course), and the water is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding.

Jon was most accommodating and a wealth of local information. He loaned us an electric heater for our camper so we didn't have to use the noisy one installed. The driveway was a bit daunting for backing up but we did it without too much effort. There's a great hike with waterfalls on the property and a cute cafe close by with good food and live music. The bathrooms were the cleanest and nicest I have seen camping! We will definitely return!

It is in the middle of nowhere but pretty easy to find off the main road. Dog friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect location if you plan on visiting surrounding cities, like Stowe. Camp site was well taken care of. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about the area and gave several recommendations for activities and dining ahead of the visit for planning. All around really nice dude! Multiple showers/flushable toilets available. Dog friendly. Many guests but was very quiet, which was great. Bathroom could be a bit cleaner/welcoming...but it is camping and I'm always grateful just to have access to utilities. Over all, nice stay.
