As private as private gets but only 6 miles to Newport Vt. There is a creek and a one acre pond (20 feet deep). It is all mixed hard and softwoods. It has some magnificent old growth trees 100 foot tall. There is a good rd that my friend has used with his Lincoln. Most any vehicle (car or Pickup)can get to the site. It gets a little tricky if you are pulling a trailer. A small one is OK but a large one - not so much....... The rd goes 1/2 mile to the rear of the land. Moose, deer and other critters visit too. We live 1/2 mile away from where you enter the woodlot. Our house is on Brownington Pond (200+ acres) & campers can use this site for swimming, boating & fishing. This 150-acre property has been in our family for 32 years and now houses three generations. Built in 1900 it was a traditional dairy farm until the 50's and 60's when potatoes were planted on the fields for the Boston and New York markets. By the 70's and 80's it became a gentleman's farm for a retired couple from New York City and the dairy farmers nearby hayed the fields. When we purchased the property in 1993 we continued offering the hay, built greenhouses, planted vegetable and flower gardens, ran a traditional Bed and Breakfast, now airbnb. I Recommend parking in lower lot and hiking to the top to camp. The road is a off road/logging road to the top. Hipcamp and myself does not cover any damage to your vehicle . Read reviews before booking. It is a hike to the top that takes about 10-15 minute. Wear proper footwear . Must be a camper, outdoorsy or in decent shape to book this campsite . As an avid mountain biker, nature lover and adventurist I decided to purchase this piece of property near the network of trails as East Burke continues to grow. I always loved camping and want to share that with others. It’ll take me some time to build in campsite amenities but would love to have others be part of that journey. Come pitch a tent and stay for awhile. Learn more about this land: Enjoy over six acres of forest on a private dead end road. There are views of Burke Ski Resort and amazing sunsets. From the property you can bike to the Kingdom Trails of East Haven via Flower Brook Rd. You can also meander through the property and follow it to Flower Brook or take a short drive towards Victory for swimming holes, fishing, or Radar MTN. There is no potable water but I leave a 5 gallon jug of drinking water that can be refilled at the town playground.

Burke Line Farm is located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We are a working horse farm. Lessons and trail rides are offered 7 days a week by appointment. Please call 802-535-7722 to speak with our wrangler. Along with the horses we have sheep and lambs for market and wool. Our land is relatively flat with many trails for riding or walking. A short drive will bring you to Willoughby Lake, Kingdom Trails, and Burke Mt. We will Be Closing for the season on the 14th of November 2024. We had a great season and looking forward to seeing you all again in the spring of 2025.

Frank is a really nice guy and has a beautiful property. His land is tucked away deep in the woods down a dirt road. His house is on the property, but he’s got a really large lot of land with beautiful views of nearby mountains. I stayed on his property in winter, and he was super accommodating, he plowed for me, helped me pick out the best spot that would be shielded from the wind, and even provided me with an extension cord for power and some wood. I’ll definitely be back. He’s got amazing views and a very private feeling property. He even offered that I could stay in his finished lower level if I got too cold. Cool property and it’s really close to Mt Pisgah where I was doing some hikes.

Site #6 was on the other side of the field from where we stayed at site seven, but was just as charming!

Weekend Trip to Burke Backyard Bell Tent

I enjoyed my stay at the Burke Backyard Bell Tent! I met Deste briefly and she was friendly. The town of East Burke is only a few minutes away and there was super easy access to lots of incredible mountain biking. While you have to walk from the driveway past the house to get to the tent, once you are there it feels pretty private and spacious. It was clean and there were some cute solar lights. The only thing I would improve is the bathroom situation, which is a pretty simple Boxio set up which I didn't find the most comfortable.

Weekend Trip to Burke Backyard Bell Tent

It was a really nice place to discover in the beautiful little town of Burke. We've been there in the middle of a bikepacking trip and the place was perfect. A big wooden base with a huge bell tent on it. We really appreciated the jug of water and the composting toilet, plus a table with two chairs. The place was so quiet, in a huge backyard in a field, surrounding by woods. There's a fireplace with chairs also and the wood is included. I would recommend this place for everyone who want to stay in Burke and have an amazing stay !

Betsy was wonderful! We got a little lost getting there and it was getting dark, but she came right over to our campsite when we arrived to welcome us and deliver the wood we bought. I highly recommend buying some wood because she even brings kindling, newspaper & a fire starter in order to make a lovely campfire under the stars! I highly recommend Betsey’s place!

My boyfriend and I loved camping on Betsey’s land. We were on Aspen Oasis site and everything we needed was there (cooking equipment, flashlight, towel, clean bed with tons of blankets, …)! The wooden stove is a must for the chilly nights, and Betsey provided plenty of wood for us to feel comfortable. We highly recommend !

We didn’t go see her pond but she told us about it when we stopped to talk to her and her son while they were in their greenhouse. We will definitely be back again and explore a little more.

Weekend Trip to Green Mountain Glamping

We LOVED our stay with Betsey!! Our crew rented the two bell tents and a tent site for a weekend bike trip. Each site was clean, well kept, and so cozy. The sites all have plenty of privacy while still being close proximity to the bathrooms and other sites. The bell tents had every single thing you could possibly think of. Solar powered lights, cute decor, maps of the area, a first aid kit, flash lights, bear horn, literally you name it and it was in there. It got down to 31 degrees at night consistently during our stay and our beds were stacked with blankets as well as flannel sheets. The beds are COMFY. The tents have a wood stove as well that heats up quick. I have never been to a more thoughtful glamping set up that still felt like a solid weekend of off grid camping. The stars are also insane on the property so be prepared to need a neck massage from looking up all night! Betsey was the best host and really, really cares. She was super attentive and incredibly kind start to finish. Not to mention the sites are just a quick ride to all of the trails as well as down town. 100/10 would stay with Betsey again and I’ll be recommending to anyone that’ll listen!! Thank you so much!!!

Tristan and Barbara were so kind and welcoming the moment we arrived. They offered beer, gathered a ton of firewood for us and were so willing to help. The next morning, Tristan helped us out with our bike route and gave some good advice on the region in general—even offered Brussels sprouts from their garden. The land itself is absolutely gorgeous and the view in the morning was incredible. I only wish we had a little more time to buzz around and see all of their projects. Hope to stay there again!
