Robbins Mountain Base Camp
We loved Mike's site on Robbins Mountain. Very private and great hiking trails in all directions. Comfortable cots and a brand new outhouse made for pleasant accommodations.
Mike was there to meet us with his awesome dog, Meeko, and they were a big help getting us from our car to the trail.

Super private and peaceful! Offers handy add‑ons for small fees—we were grateful for the gear shuttle after hiking Camel’s Hump. Plenty of fallen wood to gather, though the $5 bucket of wood was smaller than expected, two buckets would be good for both the night and morning if not gathering your own wood. The outhouse was spotless, and the tent setup was fantastic—I almost wished for rain just to hear it on the tarp covering! Even though we only stayed one night, I’m already planning to come back for a longer visit next time I’m in Vermont!

Robbins Mountain Base Camp
This is a nice roomy site about ten minutes up a fairly steep but easy to walk hill. We only stayed for one night as a quick stopover on the way to another campsite, so it worked well for our purposes, but especially for the cost I would not book here again. The canvas tent was a bit mildewed, although it was spacious with comfortable beds, and despite the hike in the site wasn’t very interesting or scenic and felt a bit awkwardly laid out. It did rain while we were there and the tarp that extends over the front of the tent was very nice to have to sit under. The wood provided was not very dry and was a small amount for the price, so I would suggest packing in kiln dried wood from a gas station which is honestly a better value than what the host provides. The host was friendly and the site was perfectly adequate, but I have stayed in many Hipcamps that were a lot nicer at a lower cost.

Wonderful property to explore and enjoy. The tent was lovely and the cots were extremely comfy. Would recommend bringing some wood as the deadfall is fairly scarce

Mike's Basecamp was awesome!! We came in to drop our stuff off before heading off. He isn't kidding about the climb, but it was well worth it to get to this little slice of heaven. The three of us and our pooch had plenty of room in the canvas tent. There was a lantern and a battery pack for our convenience. We borrowed a sleeping bag which was set up upon arrival. It did rain on us, but the overhang kept the tent dry and left us with the perfect amount of space for our gear to stay dry. There was plenty of downed wood around to keep a cozy fire going. Mike keeps the the site, including the compost toilet, clean and well maintained. All in all a gem of a spot and we hope to come back!

This campsite was amazing! Exactly as described in the listing. The site is very private, a good 10 min walk into the woods from the main property (so if you're looking for peace and not having other campers nearby, this is a great spot). The tent is spacious and the mattresses/cots are comfortable. The kitchen is great, equipment is well maintained. The compost toilet is very clean and doesn't smell at all, which is rare! Nice fire pit too. All in all just excellent! The only "negative" aspect I would say is that you can hear the highway noise a bit, but that's all.
My experience with the host Mike and his wife Kristine was a solid 11/10. Great communication, very welcoming. I had forgotten one of my bags which had all my electronics and my head lamp, and Kristine was kind enough to lend me a headlamp so I could get to the campsite (they were also very accommodating about the fact that I arrived after dark, which indeed there is a reason why they specify to arrive when there's daylight so you can find the trail). She also gave me (like actually gave me) a USB cable so I could charge my phone! But most importantly, Kristine lent me her bike (i don't have a car or license) so that I could get to a trailhead nearby!! That was certainly going above and beyond as a host and I was very grateful. Even got some great recommendations for awesome trails in the area!
All this to say that I 100% recommend this stay! Beautiful site and awesome hosts. Will certainly be back!

Lovely, comfortable, clean, and simple! This quaint campsite was a perfect stop over for a night on my partner and I's recent road trip through Vermont. The surrounding forest is beautiful; the camp set up was exactly what we'd hoped for on a trip where we didn't bring our own camping gear. Tent was comfortable & clean, we added bedding which was very comfortable and easy. The outhouse was one of the cleanest I've seen in ages. Thanks for the cozy stay in your woods on our first visit to Vermont!

We had a great stay at Robbin’s camp. It was a last minute booking and Mike was very accommodating and quick to respond.
Reviews felt accurate about the walk up the hill, and the site was completely private.
The tent and cots were comfortable and extra amenities were all thoughtfully put together. I definitely recommend it if you’re in the area!

We had an incredible experience renting a camping spot through Hipcamp. The site was perfect, offering a serene and beautiful setting. The owner was exceptionally adaptable and kind, ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

This was the perfect stop for the end of our three week trip to Vermont. We arrived around 5 and were met by Mike who provided all the information we needed.
Made the short hike to our site to set up and settle in for the night.
We were able to quickly gather dead wood lying around and enjoyed a small fire.
My husband and I are avid backcountry campers and have never been so impressed with an out house.
Withen the tent the cots were comfy and outfitted with sleeping pads for extra confort. A battery bank was provided to charge our phones.
Our battery on our car died and Mike was super helpful in providing a boost.
Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Mike’s place was awesome! Very well-furnished tent (comfortable cots, warm sleeping bags), lots of cooking supplies available, and clean outhouse. We hit some traffic so didn’t get in until after dark, and Mike shuttled all our stuff up to the site and showed us everything we needed to know. Highly recommend!

This campsite is AWESOME. So secluded but Mike thought of everything and makes the camping experience seamless and comfortable. There was even a perfect fire-poking stick set next to the fire pit. I loved this spot and Mike is really welcoming and helpful. He even showed us around his maple operation which is super neat.

We had a great stay in Vermont with Mike, a great host who gave us a perfect stay at Robbins Mountain, such a beautiful place in nature. We were well received from the start, everything was easy and perfect and we felt like we were staying at our camp's friend. Mike is a thoughtful, kind host, easy going, and makes sure everything is up to our expectations. He takes the time to welcome us, show us the facilities and all well thought out, in harmony with nature, and everything is functional for a most pleasant stay. Mike went above and beyond to help us and make our stay perfect, with the supply of drinking water and wood. He also gave us great recommendations on places to visit, as local breweries and beaches. We are already looking forward to our next stay at Robbins Mountain Base Camp!

A steep but quick hike up from parking. Beautiful piece of property secluded in the forest. Tent and other facilities seemed brand new and well done. Cots were super comfy and owner provided lots of amenities like water, charging station, lanterns, bbq, toilet paper,, and fire pit with wood (for extra charge). Some highway and train noise off in the distance but rather peaceful and quiet otherwise. Great stay!!
