Rustic and Comfortable Cabins. No power lines cross our property. We have no blaring screens to distract us from the sound of the wind in the leaves or to call us back to the whirl of modern life. But that does not mean we are without any comforts.
Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, hot and cold running spring water, indoor bathroom, and overhead LP gas lamps. Nestled in the forest at meadow's edge, Cold Spring Cabin has an outdoor shower and indoor tub. Perched on a hill near the Farm Pond, Ripley Hill Cabin has an indoor shower and tub.
The cabins are rustic, but clean and airy. The luxuries at Forest Echo Farm are not inside the cabins; they are found in the light that fills the forest in late afternoon, the silence of an evening canoe and the moonlit sparkle of dewdrops at midnight. Forest Echo Farm includes 360 acres, extensive shore to a 26-acre protected pond, numerous trails, and half a mountain.
The Farm Pond offers a refreshing ‘dip’ to cool off. A hike from each cabin leads to Tiny Pond, an unspoiled lake where canoe, kayak and raft are available for shared use. Hiking trails are on the property. In addition to local trails, the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail are nearby.
The surrounding area is chock full of restaurants, antique stores, country stores, bakeries, farm stands, farmers markets, general shopping, historic sites, hiking, swimming holes and scenic drives.

Located at the end of a dirt road, quiet with views of Killington/Pico and Salt Ash Mountain. Its a 15 min drive from Okemo/Ludlow, 10min drive from the Appalachian trail (7.9 mile walk) and there are 3 other Ski resorts within an hour of us as well as numerous lakes and hiking trails. Just 2 miles up the road is Star Lake and the quaint town of Belmont.
Our 7 acres sits on the Northside of Belmont hill. Half of it is open with several gardens to meander through. There is a pergola filled with kiwis and wisteria and a hammock for lounging. A shady grape arbor filled with white grapes that we have made wine with. On property we have a tree fort, greenhouse, chickens and pigs. We do provide fresh eggs for sale.
There is a medium pond in the back for swimming, a large fire pit for fires and but the Hip Shack comes with its own fire pit/grill combo. Wood bundle's are also available.
There is a rudimentary outdoor toilet and shower. The shower can be filled with hot water using the faucet by the garage. All water from hoses, pump hoses and faucets is the same drinkable well water, collected from the many underground springs that also feed into the pond.

The cabin sits on 10 acres of land was once owned by the infamous Rockefeller and is in the heart of the Vermont Green Mountains. Plymouth is the home of many historic sites, mind blowing views of the mountains, and close a proximity to some of the best resources Vermont has to offer (The Appalachian Trail, Vermont Artisan Cheese, Long Trail Brewery Company, numerous Maple Syrup shops, etc...). Plymouth is also is the birthplace of Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of The United States. The home he was born in, lived in, and inaugurated in are less than a mile away and are all still standing, now are used as museums to represent his history and the impact he has had on the town of Plymouth. The property also has memorable views of Mt. Killington that is just miles away where you can see the beautiful foliage during the fall months and see the ski slopes during the winter months. Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our 12acres are beautifully wooded with our pond as the central point of interest.
Camping with a trailer is a fun experience.
The communal pavilion has picnic table/benches, propane grill, shared refrigerators, pans, utensils, and dishwashing area and string lights.
Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows, that function according to their age.
These are not new modern trailers and we think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy!
Your trailer is down by the pond, the wildlife clay bottom is spring fed, swimming is allowed during daylight hours only and it is "Swim at your own Risk". Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond.
We usually have wood on site for sale, advance request is much appreciated and please pay upon arrival with cash, $15 per ample bundle and $15 for a bag of charcoal.
We do not deliver after 6pm so please order in advance.
PLEASE NOTE- you do not have our property to yourselves. We live onsite and on any given night, both trailers can be rented. The cook station, picnic table/benches under the pavilion and composting toilet are communally used.
IMPORTANT-PLEASE PLAN TO CHECK IN BETWEEN 4 and 6:30 pm as this is not a location where we can accommodate arrivals after dark. After checking in, you can head back out for dinner, we are a mere 5 miles from Quechee. We further request that you communicate your arrival time no later that early the day of so that we can greet you. We plan our day around your arrival and ask that you respect our time as well.
Any photography done with our property must be for personal use only and not professional use nor intended for publication. You must have advance (prior to arrival) permission for professional photography which will also require a contract for fees and terms. We also must restrict the use of our property to registered guests only,We also require that you commit to requirements such as no smoking or open flame in trailers, use of pond, etc. All guests swim and hike our property at their own risk.

Our private Sugar Shack is at the end of our blueberry fields and faces the forest. The Sugar Shack sleeps two in a comfy double bed with clean sheets and a fleece blanket. I wash the linens and blanket
in hot water for each and every booking.
Please bring your own extra blankets or sleeping bag if the weather is cold. An additional clean quilt with duvet cover can be added for a $ 10 per booking fee. There is a small porch, a charcoal grill, four chairs, a hammock, a fire ring,
fire wood, clean potable cold water, a solar shower,
and an outhouse. We provide the firewood for the fire ring and we provide charcoal and lighter fluid for the charcoal grill.
There is space available next to Sugar Shack in the field for additional tents or small RVs. (There is no electricity.) The upcharge for additional campers after the first two people is $5 per person per night.
Hiking trails through field and forest start at your door. We have a 3 mile round trip hike to Harlow Brook with a map. We are on the edge of a wildlife corridor and often see deer, coyotes, fox, waterfowl, songbirds and the occasional bear.
(Keep food in your car at night so that the bear does not eat it!)
We are above the Ottauquechee River at North Hartland Lake. We have rentable canoes and a
kayak. We can transport you to and pick you up for a canoe trip on the Connecticut River or to North Hartland Lake..
We are located two miles from Quechee, 7 miles from historic Woodstock to the west, and 7 miles to hip White River Junction to the east and 8 1/2 miles to Dartmouth College and the Appalachian Trail. There are fun casual restaurants with some sit down and take-out nearby and our local Jakes Market can provide you with a nice selection of groceries.
Hot Air Balloon pilots often take off and land in our fields and it is always a magical site. We can connect you with local pilots if you wish to purchase a Balloon Adventure.

Hello, welcome to Know Town located amidst the close knit hills of central Vermont and nestled in the heart of the Stony Brook watershed in the town of Stockbridge. We have just over 40 acres of diverse natural beauty to explore and bask in, which includes a beautiful stretch of the brook with multiple dunking spots, as well as a larger swimming hole. In addition to Know Town's own outdoor activities, there are plenty of hiking trails and big river swimming holes located nearby.
Currently, we offer three options for your overnight stays, as we just added The Swimming Hole site. This new site is very special and is sure to be a place that you will want to return to. Our Geodesic dome is the epitome of glamping with the comforts of home, but still integrated into the natural surroundings. Located right on the brook with a private fire pit and outdoor dining set up. There is plenty of room for games in the large field and a separate camp spot overlooking a little water fall and one of our swimming holes.
For those who enjoy car camping we have the Apple tree camp site. Located right on the brook with a big rock for sunbathing and a spacious area for tents and rooftop car campers. There are a couple of apple trees to relax in the shade under and a large picnic table and fire pit.
Know Town welcomes well mannered dogs (2 per site). We are 420 friendly and geared towards hosting those interested in arts, music, meditation, and ecology. There is virtually no light pollution which makes for optimal stargazing.
Also, it should be noted that there is currently no Wi-Fi or cell service. Please be aware that Vermont prohibits out-of-state Firewood. We sell firewood for dome and campfires, and guests are welcome to scavenge the plethora of downed dead wood on the property.

Our farm was named after the summer home of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Trollhaugen Farm means Troll hill, but the only real trolls around these parts are the sheep. Our farm has sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that you are welcome to visit.
The yurt sits in the woods next to a babbling brook. A suspension bridge connects you to the farm area. The yurt is private and has a fire pit right out back where you can grill or just sit and enjoy the fire.
The colorful yurt offers a comfy four poster bed, a small kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and composting toilet.
This is a great place for children, bikers, swimmers, hikers or anyone who just wants to get away from it all for a few days. There are many lovely hikes, one of which takes you to a pond you can swim in. You can also hike up in the woods behind the yurt.
Newfane village is one of the most picturesque villages in Vermont, with a courthouse on the green. There are two restaurants in Newfane, two coffee shops, a flea market on Sundays, and a great antique store. We are close to Brattleboro, home to one of the best coops in the northeast, as well as many fun stores and an art museum.

It all started on a first date in Boston....Nick had to excuse himself to take a phone call. His cow had fled its pasture. Much to Tara's surprise in that moment, this man she had just met was finishing his engineering degree at Northeastern, but was simultaneously building a homestead in Vermont.
Fast forward 7 years, and here we are, building the life we only dreamed of.

The dome was amazing! Had all the basic you would need for a few nights. Plus the outhouse was very nice ;)
The property was so peaceful with the river steps away from the dome. As noted it does get very cold on below freezing nights but the indoor wood stove became my best friend. I would definitely recommend for people who love a nature camping/rustic glamping experience! Bow the host was very responsive and helpful too.

Knowtown has what you need…from the soothing but energizing music of the creek to the cool, sun-dappled woods or the wide open field under the stars to the funky and functional facilities, this is the slice of secluded magic you may have been looking for.
We stayed in the Dome this time - which was the perfect mix of art, shelter and coziness…plus some powerfully cool acoustic qualities (you have to experience it to get it) but I’ve already booked a week of tent camping later in the summer and will likely be back again for a night or two in the meantime.
Bow & Lori were gracious, helpful and just all around good folks so you’re in excellent hands, and - for all of its seclusion - Knowtown is a few minutes away from multiple eateries, general stores and gas stations and just a few minutes more from the interstate.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Retreat and Tiny Cabin
This tiny riverside cabin was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway. It was fully stocked with all the basics and so many very thoughtful details, as well. The site was nicely tucked away and private. The cleanliness of the porta-potty was also notable - world's cleanest porta potty. Robbin was an excellent and thoughtful host with very thorough notes for our stay at cabin (every quick question we came across could be answered by her notes) and she also sent along a comprehensive list of things to visit in the area which ended up being the guide to our adventures around the area. Everything about our stay was perfect down to the amount of firewood provided with our 2-night stay. The only thing we would have changed about our stay would be to stay longer. We will absolutely be visiting again!

We had a great stay at this cabin and would absolutely come back. One of the things I appreciated most is how private it is—unlike many other rentals, there are no additional sites on the property, so the cabin and the surrounding space are entirely yours.
The cabin itself is exactly as described, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. What truly stood out to me, though, was how welcome we felt. As an immigrant, I’m very intentional about choosing places where my family—and really anyone from a minority background—can feel safe and respected. This was definitely one of those places. The owners are genuinely kind, good people, and it shows in the way they host.
A lovely bonus: they make their own maple syrup, which you can purchase during your stay.
And the views are beautiful—you can see the mountains right from the cabin, which made mornings and evenings especially memorable.
Overall, a peaceful, welcoming place that I’d highly recommend.

This little getaway was the perfect little adventure for my boyfriend’s birthday. The hosts were so helpful, giving us the option to purchase fire wood for the wood stove. We didn’t think we’d need it but the brisk mornings and breezy sunsets gave us the perfect opportunity to get cozy. The view left us stunned as we do not experience anything like it in our small Mass town. We cannot wait to plan another trip here to experience every season!

This was our third visit to Oma’s cabin. We came for a long weekend to get away and unplug. We got exactly that. The cabin was cozy and warm thanks to the stove. Erin & Philip are excellent hosts and made sure we were comfortable and well situated. We highly recommend coming here for a retreat away from the rest of the world.

My husband & I stayed in John & Pattie’s cabin for his birthday, and we brought our 3 dogs! We typically choose secluded sites as our dogs are very weary/nervous of strangers and like their space. This cabin was the perfect spot for them! A heads up; they give you warnings via signage in the cabin and i will warn you as well; there are a LOT of ticks! it’s the woods, there’s gonna be ticks but we’d use a sticky roller & find one every time we were outside on the dogs. just get a good flea & tick for them 👌
there is a cast iron stove that kept us extremely warm during the below freezing nights, & our hosts provided all the wood for the inside stove which was so kind.
on our way home to philadelphia, we stopped by a local dispensary and met some of the nicest people. we’d never been to vermont before & this was an amazing first experience. everyone we’d met there was sooo nice, starting with our hosts John & Pattie! we bought some of their homemade maple syrup (HIGHLY recommend)!
John also came up to the cabin to check on us & surprised our dogs, (our dogs don’t love strange men… apologies again, john!) and he responded exactly as one should when approached by barking, nervous dogs. it was refreshing and while i’m upset with my dogs for running up to him, it’s nice to see someone who understands how to interact with dogs.

Weekend Trip to Cozy Mountain Cabin
This was magical! You can hear the stream the entire time we were there, which I loved! The decor and the ambiance was just lovely. We will be back again to stay!
