Rustic and Comfortable Cabins. No power lines cross our property. We have no blaring screens to distract us from the sound of the wind in the leaves or to call us back to the whirl of modern life. But that does not mean we are without any comforts.
Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, hot and cold running spring water, indoor bathroom, and overhead LP gas lamps. Nestled in the forest at meadow's edge, Cold Spring Cabin has an outdoor shower and indoor tub. Perched on a hill near the Farm Pond, Ripley Hill Cabin has an indoor shower and tub.
The cabins are rustic, but clean and airy. The luxuries at Forest Echo Farm are not inside the cabins; they are found in the light that fills the forest in late afternoon, the silence of an evening canoe and the moonlit sparkle of dewdrops at midnight. Forest Echo Farm includes 360 acres, extensive shore to a 26-acre protected pond, numerous trails, and half a mountain.

The Hip Shack is a short walk from the parking area. We have wagons available to help with your gear, and kid-sized helpers may occasionally be available too!
The outdoor shower uses our potable well water and can be filled with hot water from the faucet by the garage. The composting toilet and outdoor kitchen are shared amenities.

Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our 12acres are beautifully wooded with our pond as the central point of interest.
Camping with a trailer is a fun experience.
The communal pavilion has picnic table/benches, propane grill, shared refrigerators, pans, utensils, and dishwashing area and string lights.
Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows, that function according to their age.
These are not new modern trailers and we think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy!
Your trailer is down by the pond, the wildlife clay bottom is spring fed, swimming is allowed during daylight hours only and it is "Swim at your own Risk". Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond.
We usually have wood on site for sale, advance request is much appreciated and please pay upon arrival with cash, $15 per ample bundle and $15 for a bag of charcoal.
We do not deliver after 6pm so please order in advance.
PLEASE NOTE- you do not have our property to yourselves. We live onsite and on any given night, both trailers can be rented. The cook station, picnic table/benches under the pavilion and composting toilet are communally used.
IMPORTANT-PLEASE PLAN TO CHECK IN BETWEEN 4 and 6:30 pm as this is not a location where we can accommodate arrivals after dark. After checking in, you can head back out for dinner, we are a mere 5 miles from Quechee. We further request that you communicate your arrival time no later that early the day of so that we can greet you. We plan our day around your arrival and ask that you respect our time as well.
Any photography done with our property must be for personal use only and not professional use nor intended for publication. You must have advance (prior to arrival) permission for professional photography which will also require a contract for fees and terms. We also must restrict the use of our property to registered guests only,We also require that you commit to requirements such as no smoking or open flame in trailers, use of pond, etc. All guests swim and hike our property at their own risk.

There is space available next to Sugar Shack in the field for additional tents or small RVs. (There is no electricity.) The upcharge for additional campers after the first two people is $5 per person per night.
Hiking trails through field and forest start at your door. We have a 3 mile round trip hike to Harlow Brook with a map. We are on the edge of a wildlife corridor and often see deer, coyotes, fox, waterfowl, songbirds and the occasional bear.
(Keep food in your car at night so that the bear does not eat it!)
We are above the Ottauquechee River at North Hartland Lake. We have rentable canoes and a
kayak. We can transport you to and pick you up for a canoe trip on the Connecticut River or to North Hartland Lake..
We are located two miles from Quechee, 7 miles from historic Woodstock to the west, and 7 miles to hip White River Junction to the east and 8 1/2 miles to Dartmouth College and the Appalachian Trail. There are fun casual restaurants with some sit down and take-out nearby and our local Jakes Market can provide you with a nice selection of groceries.
Hot Air Balloon pilots often take off and land in our fields and it is always a magical site. We can connect you with local pilots if you wish to purchase a Balloon Adventure.

Hello, welcome to Know Town located amidst the close knit hills of central Vermont and nestled in the heart of the Stony Brook watershed in the town of Stockbridge. Our Geodesic dome is the epitome of glamping with the comforts of home, but still integrated into the natural surroundings. Located right on the brook with a private fire pit and outdoor dining set up. There is plenty of room for games in the large field and a separate camp spot overlooking a little water fall and one of our swimming holes.
For those who enjoy car camping we have the Apple tree camp site. Located right on the brook with a big rock for sunbathing and a spacious area for tents and rooftop car campers. There are a couple of apple trees to relax in the shade under and a large picnic table and fire pit.
Know Town welcomes well mannered dogs (2 per site). We are 420 friendly and geared towards hosting those interested in arts, music, meditation, and ecology. There is virtually no light pollution which makes for optimal stargazing.
Also, it should be noted that there is currently no Wi-Fi or cell service. Please be aware that Vermont prohibits out-of-state Firewood. We sell firewood for dome and campfires, and guests are welcome to scavenge the plethora of downed dead wood on the property.

Purely magical hidden gem of a find.
This place existing makes Vermont even MORE special. The creativity, hard work, and craftsmanship of the Gnome Cabin is one of a kind. From the smooth walnut countertop, to the hammered copper sink, the comfy bed nook perfectly cradling you to sleep, the curated forest with a pond view and the wood carved outhouse it’s all just a very special experience. Even if you are no where near this area it’s worth building an entire trip around. We plan to next time!

What an amazing spot! First camping trip with both of our littles. And I think our daughter said it best: "this is where fairy princesses live!"
The dome was very comfortable and the wood stove worked great for cooler evenings (be sure to run a fan to circulate). The fire pit by the river was a wonderfully serene end to the day. There is truly no cell service at the site, but honestly it was so great to fully disconnect for the weekend. I do wish there was a better hot water system for the outdoor shower but that is my only real critique of the space.

Such a cute tiny house! Beautiful river and views all around us. We enjoyed hiking and walking along the river.. Easy access to a pebble beach from the house. My kids loved reading in the hammock and we sat by the fire at the outdoor table to play games and eat. We also loved the town and we went to local farms to get treats and see the animals. Robbin is an excellent host who answered my questions extremely quickly. She provided us with very accurate directions and gave us recommendations for area swimming and hiking options. Her tiny house is very clean, tidy and well kept. We were very comfortable. There were also nice little touches like a little desk and games. I had a virtual appointment with a medical provider and I had no issues getting online for it which I appreciated so much.

1 night at The Coop!
loved my time at the coop :) Andrea and her kiddos were very welcoming & helpful. gave me a rundown of utilities & tour of the space upon arrival! spotted two cutie outdoor cats who were so sweet. property is so beautiful, i couldn’t stay overnight because of a little emergency unfortunately. Andrea was super kind to refund me 50%- I hope to visit soon again!

With pets
This site was lovely! Very private, surrounded by trees. Bed was comfortable and site had everything we needed. There is no signage/address posted where you are supposed to turn into the driveway, so that made our arrival a little confusing. We stayed on 2 weeknights- both nights there was a lot of loud motorcycle activity in the area that woke us up (site is close to small town area). Otherwise a great place to stay. Cait was a responsive and helpful host.
