I am not one with words, but if you read one review, read this one. We arrived and Rick was full of stories and information about the property. He took us to our site (4 wheel drive is a MUST!) which was amazing. He allowed us to rearrange the picnic table and fire ring to our liking. The next morning Rick set our eggs out that we purchased through him at 6am. We went fishing and caught four 2-2.8 pounders. It was amazing! That sunset I took the photography class presented by Rick. It was wonderful. Got a lot of information and he took me to some pretty spots I had not seen before. That evening it rained and stormed. Our tent collapsed and our gear was soaked. This was my first time camping, and because the amazing time Rick provided I am hooked!!!! The animals coming in to my camp was unforgettable and seeing my dogs swim in the ponds, those are memories I’ll never forget! Thank you Rick for having such a beautiful, well maintained and kept up property! Me and my family will be back!!!!

Weekend Trip to Sandy Ridge Camping

Moved to Site #1 at Ingrid's recommendation. It is a lovely, peaceful property and Site 1 was perfect. Large flat meadow overlooking a pond. Picnic table and fire ring. Lots of dry fire wood to collect nearby. Pleasant walking trails Wild flowers starting to appear. Boundered by trees for privacy but lots if open dark sky for stargazing. Flush toilet & shower are a bonus but be prepared to drive or for a long walk. Overall, a place I'd be happy to return to for a quiet getaway or with kids.

Such a great spot so close to Dallas! Nice spread out campsites, plenty of space to explore and search for the horses. Our daughters loved the horses and especially Willie the mule - they are all friendly and we had no worries about safety when around the horses/mules/donkeys. Rick is super nice and helpful and made us feel welcome and comfortable on his land. Would love to come back!

Weekend Trip to Rockin Bar B Ranch

We had a blast at Bobbi's cabin - it was extremely peaceful & secluded with lots of land to explore. I did yoga on the deck, read a good book & hiked the acreage while my partner spent a full two days fishing the pond. Even our small dog had the time of his life living it up like a wild little animal. Looking forward to trying the goose egg we were giving. Thanks again for the hospitality & relaxing getaway!!

Weekend Trip to Sandy Ridge Camping

My family loved camping at site 1. Near the pond and hiking trails with easy access to the toilet and shower. Waking up each morning on the hill looking down on the pond was worth it alone. Hiking around the property was really nice and easy to follow the trails. We saw a few deer and enjoyed the flowing creek. Absolutely would stay again. It was everything you could ask for in a camp site and more.

Great stay would definitely go again. Lake is so much fun and the deck is really cool our dogs had a great time. I would recommend renting both spots because I personally wouldn’t want to share but if that’s your thing haha!

We rented out both sites for a night in our way to Arkansas and it was an amazing time. I would drive the 5 hours to get here and do it again. Our dogs had a blast running for the ball and getting in the pond. The host warned us rain made the field muddy so we definitely needed our truck to get out there only because of that but the field wasn’t too bad to hang out in when we got down to the water. 10/10 recommend.

Excellent host with great communication! The pond was so peaceful and pretty. Easy to get to. Close to metroplex, but you feel like you’re hours away because of how quiet it is. Great accommodations with a bathroom available near the campsite, a little goody bag, firewood with a starter log and much more. Book now! You won’t be disappointed. We can’t wait to go back!

4 nights at A Little Piece of Paradise

This little slice of heaven was fantastic! The tub and the shower were an out-of-body experience. The kitchen was well stocked and everything worked! We enjoyed daily walks around the acreage, including the pier over the pond with the glass bottom and the sweet ponies who loved pets. The floor in the cabin was astounding. Many various materials and colors are beautifully patchworked around the entire cabin. It does make it inaccessible for people with mobility issues (but there aren’t any accessible entrances to the cabin either). Gilberto responded quickly and worked hard to make the space very welcoming. We will definitely be back and have already suggested it to several friends.

The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners! Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs. We farm organic vegetables, and have planted some fruit trees. This is a great property with a lot of potential for adventure. You can burn almost everything around responsibly. There is a lot of firewood. Right now there are no bathrooms or facilities of any kind except for a small goat shed. there is a ton of scrap metal and random random things in a pile great for digging and scrapping in all free. Finders keepers. There are some really old giant trees on the property. One is probably the largest tree I have ever seen in Collin County. There is a seasonal creek that runs through the back and sort of a swappy pond in the front. The Prairie in the front is some sort of different grass than usual. It might be native buffalo grass or something else weird like that. The property needs a lot of cleanup, so I would make a good to work campers or groups wanting a working party. The land could use some work, I could contribute a lot of free beer and food to people cleaning up the place before I build my house.
