Weekend Trip to Boulderdash Cabin & Camping

Fantastic camping spot! We booked out both of the river spots so that we had more room and privacy. It was perfect! The walk up to the bath house wasn’t bad at all. Facilities were nice and clean and cared for. We didn’t use the WiFi. The sink and electric were very conveniently located. There was an issue with the outlets, but the hosts were super quick to respond and got us set up with alternate electricity sites in the meantime. Incredibly accommodating. Being next to the water was perfect! The dogs loved it. Plenty of flat spots for tents and parking. Beautiful site. I’ve camped quite a bit within about a 3 hour radius of Austin, and this has been the best! Loved it

Weekend Trip to Easy Breeze

Was going to stay one night, ended up staying two. Easy Breeze is an oasis in Wimberly. Wes is an awesome person, super responsive and makes this a safe place for solo female travelers! I soaked in the cool tub all day, and hung my hammock under the shade trees. I even slept with the van doors open under the full moon and woke to soft bird songs. My dog was really happy to roam off leash and nap in the grass. Will stay here again.

Really nice place. Unkomplicated. Very friendly host. Beautiful horses. Our daughters really like it there. Washingmaschine and dryer 👍🏽 At night you can hear the vehicles on the road. Only the restroom was dirty.

I loved how secluded the site, yet, not too far from the car, the toilet station and trash station. We really enjoyed the experience despite of the strong wind. James is greatly responsive and supportive. We will definitely visit again!

We were met by Al himself and given a tour of the land and then upgraded to a better spot complete with a phantastic Merry Prankster inspired bus to hang out in! Had to leave a night early but will 10/10 return!

Not much to say, we pulled in late and left early. Probably could have parked on the side of the road, but I hate getting woken up and having to move. James the host was responsive and helpful. The place looked pretty killer for a nice getaway. It's not a typical campground, it's private land with outhouses and sites with firepits. Very reminiscent of a Baja situation. Host says he locks the gate at night but I couldn't confirm. Overall I'd recommend

Weekend Trip to Twisted Oaks...

No frills car camping, highly recommended! John’s land is beautiful and has many sites to choose from with flat places for tents, fire ring, tables and chairs. John is friendly and so are his dogs. He’s done a lot of DIY projects like an outdoor shower, bucket flush toilet, disc golf holes (bring your own discs) and has a few campers, a dump truck and other equipment on site that might not feel like pure nature but it didn’t bother me. If you want a true “pristine natural area” look elsewhere but for weekend car campers it’s a great place. Firewood available on site. 15 mins from downtown.

Weekend Trip to Lost Woods

We stayed twice this season so far and it's honestly a fast favorite! We have a small 16' teardrop that fits perfectly for use at sites 1, 2, 3, 6, & 8. Our 1st trip was with some friends, their kids and our dogs at sites 6, 7, & 8 at the recommendation of the owner. Perfect to sit at the shaded campfire space @ 8 with space for everyone's tent! The 2nd trip was for a family birthday camping with some dogs as well @ site 1 - which was adjusted to site 2 to be further from the entrance road. James is always very responsive and easy to communicate with for anything! Notes for potential campers: - IT IS JUST THE WOODS...in the suburbs. There is the convenience of access to stores if you forgot something but once you are on site, there is 1 port-a-potty (cleaned 1/wk?) that is within a 5-10 minute walk from any site. No water connections & no electricity. Great "tester" for introducing people to camping b/c of the safety net of being so close to civilization. - Most sites VERY well shaded. If you are in site 1 or 2 I recommend bringing a canopy because the sites are cleared pretty well. - Road is very accessible but it is a dirt/rock road. More uneven and larger rock than gravel. - Sites 4-8 have the least road noise, with the lowest road noise being at 8. - Carpool for groups as much as possible. Parking (except at 1, 3, or 8) limited. - 8+ppl tents: Sites 1-4 & 8 have space for at least 2 tents; site 6 (maybe 5?) for 1 tent; sites 5 & 7 poss. but tight - Very walkable!

It was such a fun experience staying at Boulderdash! We had our 3 kids, ages 2,4,8 and they all had something fun to do. We enjoyed the river, riding our bikes around our tent site, hiking at hill country state park, and exploring the property. Beautiful views from the grilling area, got to see some hummingbirds right next to us. Overall lovely time.

Weekend Trip to Medina River RV Park & Camping

Being close to the bathroom/shower was convenient. My kids loved climbing the tree and we were able to hang our hammock. The sky was clear and the stars were bright. The site is in an RV park and right beside the road, so it wasn't as private as we are used to but worked out for our last minute camping trip. River access was exactly what we were looking for. It was beautiful, cool and refreshing! Access to the electrical plug in was a nice extra. Derek was informative and very helpful when asking about kayaks and firewood.

Our group really enjoyed our experience at the Lost Woods Campground. We stayed at site 6 which was super convenient for us since it allowed us to back our vehicle right up to the camp spot.

We stayed here over Spring Break and had the best time! My kids said they wanted to stay forever, they said it was dreamy to have had the “biggest backyard in the world” The house it it cute and cozy, exactly like you can see in the pictures. Even though the river water was low, my kids were able to play there and we all made wonderful memories.

You are responsible for removing all trash. If any garbage is left behind in your site you will be billed for the cleanup. We have a dumpster located near the front gate. Please use it and put all your trash in there. Heads-up! We have a small farm on the property. Dogs are always welcome and we LOVE our furry friends! Much of the camping here is still a work in progress! So for now, a very private economical choice for campers! The central building has indoor lodging available and the side bathroom with indoor toilet / washer / dryer may be used by campers as well. A new outdoor shower is 95% complete and usable but swimwear is required because we have not finished filling in the slots between the wood fence panels. The RV Dump station is also ready for use as well as the new outhouse! If you forgot to dump on the way out or need to before arriving, please use the free dump stations on I-35 near Natalia on either side of the highway.

Five minutes from Historic Downtown Wimberley, Texas; Blue Hole; Jacob's Well; Cypress Creek. Walking distance to Market Days or just take a soak in the tub. Secluded, but convenient with wifi. My idea is to cater to riders of all kinds, If you have a need and I can help, I will. 19 miles away situated along a one-mile stretch of the spring-fed Blanco River, the small but mighty Blanco State Park is very family-friendly, offering the spectacular Falls Dam, nature trails, fishing, tubing, kayaking, and deep water for a good, refreshing swim. The stocked river is teeming with largemouth and Guadalupe bass, catfish, sunfish, and rainbow trout, and can be an excellent place for beginning anglers (you can even borrow equipment for free). Pedernales Falls State Park is only 35 miles away. Swimming at holes, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and birding are a few of the quintessential outdoor Texan activities visitors enjoy most at Pedernales State Park, located near the area of Texas Hill Country where former President Lyndon B. Johnson grew up. Next to the famed Pedernales River, the park is an hour west of Austin, an hour east of Fredericksburg, and about 20 minutes from downtown Johnson City. Wineries and distilleries are a short drive away in nearby Dripping Springs and Stonewall. Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

There is an additional $25/yurt if you want to use the hot tub during your stay. Guest access When you arrive at our house you will park in our circle driveway and walk through the double green gates down the hill to the glampsite. (To the left past the house) The road is slippery/steep so please use the steps. Backpack recommended for easier up and down! You can roll a cooler down the (steep) road! Other things to note Each of the four bell tents are equipped with an AC unit, beds, heater, pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, electrical outlets, twinkle lights, and a lantern. Light switch to main Edison lights are located on the side table near hot tub outlets.
