Into The Wild RV
2 sites · Lodging6 acres · Kingsbury, TXThis is a small 6 acre Homestead in Kingsbury TX. Renovating and giving new life to vintage RVS is a passion of mine. We recently came across the RV used in the film Into the Wild. The RV was the home to Rubber Tramps Jan and Rainey who met up with Alexander Supertramp played by Emile Hirsch. When we took the RV into our possession it was in terrible disrepair. The mural was faded from years of sun and the interior had been destroyed by years of decay. At the time of the film release this RV was 23 years old. Today it is 38 years old. We ask that you respect its vintage age when staying in the RV. If you are looking for fancy this isn't it. If you are looking to enjoy a piece of cinematic history and get some peace and quiet then we invite you to go Into the Wild with us here in Kingsbury TX.

Little Dipper cabin with hot tub!
1 site · Lodging2 acres · Pipe Creek, TXHi, I'm Mel and I built the cabin as a fun project but it turned out so cute I decided to share it with others. There is so much to do here from relaxing to kayaking, swimming, fishing, hammocking, hot tubbing, star gazing, deer watching, hillcountry sunsets, scenic walks/running, fire building etc. I live in the main house on the property but am not always there and really give people their privacy when I am here. I'm available for questions during most stays though. 34 miles away you have Guadalupe State Park. Considered one of the finest state parks in Texas, Guadalupe River State Park combines with Honey Creek State Natural Area to provide nearly 5,000 acres of preserved natural land. The Guadalupe River is a key attraction for visitors to wade, swim, kayak, and canoe. Check out the park’s 13 miles of hike and bike trails, or bring the kids to the hands-on Discovery Center.  A little further you have San Antonio Missions National Historic State Park. You can drive on this fascinating tour of four missions outside San Antonio proper, or you can take advantage of the hop-on, hop-off bus tour for an ultra-low price. Make a bike ride of it (10 miles each way to visit them all). Any way you choose, it's well worth the time. Start with a visit to the Alamo, and keep going through the whole chain to get a sense of what life was like in 18th century Texas. Each mission has a completely different vibe. Spend some time relaxing in the beautiful gardens at San Espada, and don't miss the movie at the Visitor Center at San Jose. You get a real sense of Texas history. All four missions are beautifully maintained and landscaped. It's worthwhile to visit for the architecture alone. Keep in mind that these missions are still active as churches, so be respectful if a Mass is in progress. No pets allowed.
