The place is beautiful and Dot is a great host. We were camping during a 3 days long rainstorm. When our car got stuck on the way out, Dot kindly offered us to stay in the dome until the storm was over and the tow truck could help us. We'll come ba k again, hopefully to a drier experience.

We stayed at the Riverside spot and it was awesome ! Had some next door campers but with plenty of space between for privacy . The walk towards the river was awesome . It had rained a couple of days before so it was moving lightly , nothing to crazy ! They do have other neighbors near by but at a distance . Plenty of space and quiet. Will say for thise spots out close to the river; if it rains for a bit , could get a bit muddy in certain spots ,but most of it was very short thin grassy spots mixed with dirt .

We brought our teardrop trailer here for a night. Getting hooked up was easy, the spot was level, and it was a short walk to the bathrooms and the river. Very quiet and peaceful at night. Loved it!

First time camping and this place was amazing. River was a little low but that didn’t stop us from getting in the water and having fun. Easy rental process for the kayak, tubes and firewood and very nice bathrooms and showers. Definitely considering coming back when it’s cooler.

3 nights at Sparrow Bend River Retreat

We enjoyed staying at Angela’s place so much and loved her vintage camper! The bed was so comfortable and the AC was top tier. If anyone is worried about their height when booking the camper, my boyfriend is 6 feet and he was able to stretch out and sleep comfortably (the side of the bed next to the sink). She provided everything we needed to cook and clean with and it’s a beautiful site from the porch. The bathrooms were clean and we loved the outdoor shower! The river was so pretty and well kept around all the areas. They had picnic tables down there to eat and hang out at. We can’t wait to come stay again and I’m excited to bring my kiddo back for a little getaway.

Our property is home to a wide variety of hill-country wildlife. - Each of our campsites are private and surrounded by forest. - Each site has a fire ring for campfires - Our trees are our most precious natural resource and set this campground apart! Please don't do anything to harm them. - Port-o-john is available on site. - All of our campsites are primitive. No electric or water here. - When you camp with us you are welcome to explore and play on the entire property! We have 55 acres of trails and woods to explore! Please bring your bikes, trail shoes, or whatever helps you have fun in the wild! - Hammocks welcome! We have so many trees! All of our sites are hammock-friendly. - When you check-in, just text us, your host will help you find your campsite. - Some sites are drive-in where your vehicle can park right next to the fire. Others are walk-in and require a short hike of 100' or less from your parking space. You can indicate your preference during booking or at check-in. About 15 minutes to tube rentals to float the river in San Marcos. The San Marcos outlet malls are a shower trip. An approximate 30 minute trip to Wimberly, TX wineries. There are wildflowers all over the property; especially in the spring time. We have seen deer grazing on the property and some travelers have found fossils and arrowheads (no guarantees of course). A tent can be provided upon your request ahead of time. We look forward to hosting you. We want you to create lasting memories by connecting with yourself and loved ones.

Being out in nature and hearing all the birds and other animals roaming about makes it special. The sweet downtown Seguin is only 12 miles away. Access to San Marcos and New Braunfuls in 30-45 minutes. The Guadalupe River is less than 10 minutes away and great River access points all around town. If you’re a cyclist, you will enjoy our extremely low traffic county road. Enjoy long straights, many twists and turns, and hill country scenery. Our primitive camping sites are set among our majestic oak trees. We provide a primitive dirt camp pad and fire ring. There is one picnic table that seats 8. We have no restroom facilities, no electricity, no running water. We hope to add more amenities as time goes on. We have big plans to in large the pond as we are able. We have camping spots, (2) rv electric hook ups and a small cabin to sleep in. Our property is on 14 acres. We have open pastures and forested areas. Whether you are seeking to escape the city hustle and bustle, or want a small taste of the homestead life, this is a great place to be! We are located about 35 minutes from San Antonio, 25 minutes from Boerne and 15 minutes from the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera, TX! We do have a visible neighboring property. Therefore there is the occasional barking, lights, and music that can be heard/seen. We hope you choose to stay here and enjoy your stay!
