I had a really great time camping here. Traveled down from Kansas City in my camper van, and was welcomed by both Beaux and Hollis, who were incredibly nice, and accommodating people. They made sure to give me a tour of the campsite, and gave me a list of items to discover in a scavenger hunt through their very well-cared for forest walk, which was full of wildlife and beautiful scenery. As a musician coming through for some rest, and inspiration.. I found The Happy Horse to fit my needs perfectly. This place is truly a gem. Weekend Trip to River Grove Campground

Our overnight camping trip to Billy’s was a last-minute decision — and we’re so glad we made it! Everything was exactly as pictured, and we had a wonderful time on his beautiful property. We spent the day fishing and taking advantage of the Jon boat and kayak right by the shore. We cooked over an open flame with wood we purchased directly from Billy, which made the experience even better. The weather was perfect, the company was even better, and the sweet sounds of nature were truly the cherry on top. Thank you, Billy, for sharing your little slice of heaven with us — we can’t wait to come back!

I would highly recommend staying at the Happy Horse Camp! The cabins have a lovely, quaint vibe and are clean with a solid set of amenities. Showers and bathrooms are available, and the on site nature walk with the scavenger hunt is very fun. Beaux and Hollis went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. I proposed to my fiance and they helped set up the proposal location on the nature walk. My fiance was very suprised and it made for a magical day:) Huge thanks to Beaux and Hollis for their help and responsiveness.

Billy's place is beautiful. He has the sites spread out so there is lots of privacy. Great view of the rive, big shady trees, and enjoyed the sheep grazing through. Easy walk to access to the Guadalupe River. Looking forward to next time.

Simple campsites, owners are super nice. The property is kept and feels very safe. The bathroom and outdoor shower are what you would expect for a campground, but many of the doors don’t quite shut all the way. Overall great spot to camp!

Was going to stay one night, ended up staying two. Easy Breeze is an oasis in Wimberly. Wes is an awesome person, super responsive and makes this a safe place for solo female travelers! I soaked in the cool tub all day, and hung my hammock under the shade trees. I even slept with the van doors open under the full moon and woke to soft bird songs. My dog was really happy to roam off leash and nap in the grass. Will stay here again.

River Grove Campground

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently I am almost always on the property and try to have my phone with me while campers are on site, just let me know what you need and I will do what I can to accommodate you. The property was inhabited by Donkeys and a Donkey barn and a Grey Fox family. Nice shady oaks to park your motorcycles under. Walk downtown and have pizza at Community Pizza or get some food for the grill at HEB. First Saturday of the month Market Days goes on in the daytime. Five minutes from Historic Downtown Wimberley, Texas; Blue Hole; Jacob's Well; Cypress Creek. Walking distance to Market Days or just take a soak in the tub. Secluded, but convenient with wifi. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and traveler whenever possible. My idea is to cater to riders of all kinds, If you have a need and I can help, I will. 19 miles away situated along a one-mile stretch of the spring-fed Blanco River, the small but mighty Blanco State Park is very family-friendly, offering the spectacular Falls Dam, nature trails, fishing, tubing, kayaking, and deep water for a good, refreshing swim. The stocked river is teeming with largemouth and Guadalupe bass, catfish, sunfish, and rainbow trout, and can be an excellent place for beginning anglers (you can even borrow equipment for free). Pedernales Falls State Park is only 35 miles away. Swimming at holes, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and birding are a few of the quintessential outdoor Texan activities visitors enjoy most at Pedernales State Park, located near the area of Texas Hill Country where former President Lyndon B. Johnson grew up. Next to the famed Pedernales River, the park is an hour west of Austin, an hour east of Fredericksburg, and about 20 minutes from downtown Johnson City. Wineries and distilleries are a short drive away in nearby Dripping Springs and Stonewall. Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

Aredondo Acres

Aredondo Acres has wonderful views of the river because on other side of the river lies is a wooded area between Little and Big Webberville Parks and a nice green hill. Bring your canoe or kayak and relax while paddling in the river. We are four miles off of Hwy 71 in the little community of Garfield, TX between the Austin airport and the town of Bastrop. We live on onsite on the first acre, next to the road. The third acre is where you will be camping. Enjoy running water in the center area. For more personal needs, an RV with a flushing toilet is located closer to the river. Other extras include some picnic tables and chairs, fire pit, BBQ grill, trash can, cooling tub, big shady trees, and lots flat areas so you can drive to your campsite. Pets are welcome, just be sure to leash them when sharing the site with other campers. David's parents bought the property in the 1970's and it was undeveloped until they deeded it to him in the 1996. It used to be a gravel pit and there are still pockets of gravel on the property. We have been doing a lot of landscaping and enjoy walking to river to fish or just to enjoy a peaceful view of nature. We have recently added a floating dock, so the fishing should be even better. We look forward to sharing it with you. Learn more about this land: Relax in the shade and enjoy beautiful views of the Colorado River, just minutes from Austin and Bastrop. Bring your fishing poles and licenses and try your luck or just relax and watch the kayaks and boats float down the river. Water is available in the center of the area for all campers with a sink and an antique tub. Ground at the campsites is fairly level and there is an area wide enough to turn an RV. There are steps to the edge of the river. Restroom is in an RV so you have running water available, but you will need to climb a few steps. You may get WiFi but it is not a given. Only two sites are rented for an acre of river-front land. Our home is on the first acre of three acres. If you need any "extras" just let us know and we will be glad to help. We are diligent about removing harmful weeds from the area but if you see any plant with three leaves, please let it be. For the 4th or July and New Year's Eve, fireworks are legal in this area so you are welcome to bring your own, or enjoy the neighbor's displays. We are close to Circuit of Americas and McKinney Rough Park with the zip line. We are a short drive to the Capital of Texas Zoo and the Dinosaur Park as well as LCRA South and North Parks in Bastrop, and the Bastrop State Park. Enjoy a day seeing the sites and then come home to your campsite and enjoy the stars.
