The trail head is accessed by a dirt road that winds around our corn field and into the woods, and can be accessed by any vehicle in normal weather conditions. We will provide warning/refunds if the river road becomes 4x4 only. Fishing is allowed with a valid Texas fishing license. There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. The famous Blue Hole and Jacobs Well swimming holes along with their respective hiking trails and parks are minutes away, along with the highly regarded Wimberley Zipline being just 5 minutes down the road, too! This is a farm. For those that enjoy dispersed camping, this is it. No one else there so I had the run of the place. As described, I was met by the owner as I came up the drive, got a quick property tour and history, met the new baby pigs, was greeted by chickens and the old brown farm dog that came to check on me a couple of times. Fire pits were located throughout the property with plenty of firewood around for the choosing. Very clean portapotty. They have showers but I didn’t use them so I can’t comment. The main drawback is the proximity to Hwy 29. As noted in the description, it is not unnoticeable but by about 6:30 or 7, it calmed down a lot. I was just there on a spur of the moment , quick, overnighter to check the place out and to field test a couple of new pieces of camping equipment. It’s only a 15 mile trip from my home, so nice and easy. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. I’ve had a couple of questionable Hipcamp experiences, but this was not one of them . I can say I’ll probably be back the next time I need to get out or to put a new camping toy to work.

We had a wonderful stay at Sheri and Johnnie’s property. They both came to greet us when we arrived and were incredibly welcoming. They even offered to look after our dog while we visited Hamilton Pool, which was so thoughtful. It was a perfect experience - 10/10, we’ll be back!

Weekend Trip to P² Farm | Scenic River Camping

My friends and I had an absolute blast on the pasture mingle campsite. I will say though, if you’re looking for a lot of privacy, you’ll probably want to go with the mother tree location. Since this campsite is next to the barn where horse rides begin, there were people coming in and out a lot during our stay. Didn’t bother us, and we preferred being right up next to the horses, with two sheep roaming and playing around for us to watch. I’d recommend this spot to families with kids who like animals, and the mother tree location for people who want more of the private river spot. Overall we were very pleased.

Sheri and Johnny were extremely kind and hospitable hosts. We enjoyed the privacy of the campsites that were available (couldn’t see any of the other guests unless you went looking)! Very convenient if you’re looking to visit Hamilton pools which is just five minutes away. Also our favorite point was that it’s in an area with little/less light pollution from the city and so we were able to get really nice stargazing views!

I kinda really don’t even want to leave a review because I don’t want the secret getting out. But this camp site is just amazing if you know what you’re getting into! It’s rustic, bring your own table and water rustic. But for that “downside” you get so many upsides. The quiet, ooooh the quiet. The stars and the quiet make you forget you’re only 30 minutes from home. The hosts are amazing, friendly, and on top of everything on the facility. As an example, there was a shortage of tp in one of the bathrooms, no big deal, I keep tp in the truck for this reason. But next time I went in (next morning) it was stocked! It’s the little things in that really and truly make this place incredible.

We had a great time here! Sites were large enough to accommodate 2 vehicles and a tent, plus 3 dogs. Bathrooms at the front were clean, plus a hose nearby for non potable water. We had fire wood delivered to our site a couple of times and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

My girlfriend and I had a magical weekend at the ranch. It was easy to find- close to Georgetown which has a nice market on Saturdays- yet remote enough to stargaze. We rode horses and played with the goats, ponies, and a litter of 8 7-week old puppies. At night the hosts brought us plenty of firewood for our spot near the horse pasture. It was a very fun and friendly experience all around.

The camp is exactly what we needed! As we had several large dogs with us, it allowed our dogs to have the space and privacy that we needed as well as a nice peaceful vacation. Having the electricity there was very helpful! It was quiet and peaceful, and even though we had to move the trailer to dump and fill up water, it was still what we were looking for! And everything was there on site. Our host page was responsive and helpful! Would definitely stay again.

We brought our own camping chairs, but there were also chairs available and picnic tables.

Weekend Trip to Longhorn Getaway Campgrounds

My buddy and I very much enjoyed staying at this campground. Us city folk did have to get help to move the longhorn and donkey away from the gate so we could get in initially, but Jana responded right away and her husband helped us out immediately. The animals kept us company over night, but they were friendly and cute. The composting toilet had everything you could need, and the ranch land was gorgeous. Overall, a great stay and would recommend this campground.

We fully enjoyed staying at Bridgette’s place. We were a small group at site 3 with 2 tents, a truck tent and small travel trailer. We had plenty of space. There was another group at site 2. We could hardly hear each other (but did play some songs together). It was nice to have the bathroom close. It even had hot water. We look forward to staying there again.

This was such a great stop along our camping trip! The site was big enough for a group, although we only had two people. Plenty of space, a nice picnic table, firepit, etc. Easy to follow instructions to get to the site, with plenty of activities to do around the area. Our host Jana was responsive and communicative with good information. We would highly recommend and we will be back for another stay! Also a plus, they are pet friendly.
