Weekend Trip to Easy Breeze

Was going to stay one night, ended up staying two. Easy Breeze is an oasis in Wimberly. Wes is an awesome person, super responsive and makes this a safe place for solo female travelers! I soaked in the cool tub all day, and hung my hammock under the shade trees. I even slept with the van doors open under the full moon and woke to soft bird songs. My dog was really happy to roam off leash and nap in the grass. Will stay here again.

Weekend Trip to KW Equine Sanctuary and Ranch

We really enjoyed camping here, and Amber made us feel incredibly welcome. We decided to camp in the pasture, and were greeted by many horses, cows, and goats, which were all so friendly. Don’t let their curiosity make you worried, the animals like to get close and check you and your tent out, but they’re very gentle and love to be pet. Do know that this is a pasture with animals in it. To be prepared for this, I’d recommend bringing shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty and a tarp for your tent. Amber can also help you find a good spot to pitch!

We had a great stay at Easy Breeze. The location was excellent - close to town, and not even a mile from the grocery store. Our campsite was lovely. The power and water were easily accessible. Wifi was a bit spotty but we made it work.

We are now offering daytime river access to the San Gabriel River! This is a secluded, hike to spot for fishing, swimming, grilling, picnicing, and hanging out during the day. Access to our river site is included in your camping fee, or we offer day passes for non-campers! There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please. McDonald Farm sits in the historic farming community of Jonah, TX between Georgetown and Taylor on scenic Highway 29. McDonald Farm is named after the patriarch of the family, J.H. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! We are 13 miles from Granger Lake, which offers boating and bass fishing opportunities. Highway 29 and the many quaint and scenic country roads that intersect it is popular with cyclists wanting to go for longer rides and enjoy the sights of central Texas and the many historical farms in the area. There is excellent bird-watching and wildlife-viewing opportunities on the property. We frequently see white-tailed deer, as well as other wildlife and many species of birds. There is road noise. There are wildflowers all over the property; especially in the spring time. We have seen deer grazing on the property and some travelers have found fossils and arrowheads (no guarantees of course). Magickal Dickburg!

Welcome to Magickal Dickburg! This gorgeous 5-acre secluded piece of paradise is located between Bastrop and Paige, Texas. Dickburg is perfect for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and be fully embraced by nature. You will find yourself surrounded by dozens of beautiful Loblolly Pines, Junipers, and a variety of Oak trees. On a clear night, you’ll be able to look up and see all the stars over Texas! Currently, we are only offering semi-primitive camping spots - we have electricity, Wi-Fi, and a porta-potty for our guests to use, but no running water or showers. There is an 8ft. diameter communal firepit with firewood that can be used as long as there isn't a burn ban in effect. There are designated parking spaces on the property and from there, it’s just a short walk to the camping areas. You will need to bring any and all gear needed for camping, as we are only offering camping spaces. No glass bottles or containers of any kind and no generators. While there isn’t much to do inside Dickburg, other than exploring the land, stargazing around the firepit, and generally just vibing with Mother Nature, there are plenty of things to do nearby. We are only 15 minutes from Sherwood Forest Faire (only open during the weekends of March and April & a few other days during the year), 18 minutes from Bastrop State Park if you want to fish, swim, or hike, 25 minutes from Downtown Bastrop, and 30 minutes from the Dinosaur Park, the Capital of Texas Zoo, McKinney Roughs and Zip Lost Pines! Pets are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash. Please be sure to clean up any messes your pet makes. Dickburg embraces a ‘Leave No Trace’ camping style, meaning, whatever items you bring with you, please take with you when you leave, including trash, items to be recycled, and pet waste. Please keep in mind that, while it may feel like you’re hundreds of miles from civilization, we do have neighbors on both sides of us and behind us. Three out of four sides of Dickburg have a regular fence while the fourth (north side) has a natural barrier of piled brush. Please do not cross into our neighbor’s property or allow your kiddos/animals to wander unsupervised. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am. Other Things to Note: We have done countless hours of work to get Dickburg ready for you to enjoy. With that being said, it’s still raw land out in the country. There will be critters - snakes, lizards, bugs, etc. This was their land first and we’re just grateful we get to share it with them. Please use common sense when exploring the land and do not handle any wildlife. There is absolutely NO hunting or killing of any wildlife while at Dickburg. The ONLY exception to this rule is mosquitoes. You'll definitely want to bring bug spray, bug zappers, citronella candles, etc.... and kill as many of those blood-sucking jerks as possible! Do not be surprised if you hear gunshots during your stay. There is a shooting range just down the street. We mention this, not to scare you, but to make you aware so that you’re not scared when you do hear them. #countrylife String lights have been installed around Site #2. This is not only to light your way after the sun sets but also to set a boundary of where not to venture after dark. Please stay within the lighted area. The lights can be plugged in and unplugged at the electrical pole, near the RV (yellow extension cord). Dickburg is a very new camping area and is still a work in progress. After clearing the land, the land was left with exposed roots and tree stumps. For the safety of our guests, please be sure to have a light source with you when walking around at night. We are working to get roots and stumps removed, but it will take some time. We may or may not be onsite during your stay as we are continually working to improve the space for our guests. Feel free to come and say hi if you see us out and about. Or don’t! It’s completely up to you if you feel like being social or not! Also, if you have any suggestions on how to improve the area or other amenities you’d like to see, please let us know. We welcome your feedback!

There are 2 LONG RV spots up to 45 feet in length BUT, they are back in only and the turn around area is tight if you have a BIG RIG. The 2 camper van sites are (Site 1) 32' and (Site 2) 22'. Walk downtown and have pizza at Community Pizza or get some food for the grill at HEB. First Saturday of the month Market Days goes on in the daytime. Five minutes from Historic Downtown Wimberley, Texas; Blue Hole; Jacob's Well; Cypress Creek. Walking distance to Market Days or just take a soak in the tub. Secluded, but convenient with wifi. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and traveler whenever possible. My idea is to cater to riders of all kinds, If you have a need and I can help, I will. 19 miles away situated along a one-mile stretch of the spring-fed Blanco River, the small but mighty Blanco State Park is very family-friendly, offering the spectacular Falls Dam, nature trails, fishing, tubing, kayaking, and deep water for a good, refreshing swim. The stocked river is teeming with largemouth and Guadalupe bass, catfish, sunfish, and rainbow trout, and can be an excellent place for beginning anglers (you can even borrow equipment for free). Pedernales Falls State Park is only 35 miles away. Swimming at holes, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and birding are a few of the quintessential outdoor Texan activities visitors enjoy most at Pedernales State Park, located near the area of Texas Hill Country where former President Lyndon B. Johnson grew up. Next to the famed Pedernales River, the park is an hour west of Austin, an hour east of Fredericksburg, and about 20 minutes from downtown Johnson City. Wineries and distilleries are a short drive away in nearby Dripping Springs and Stonewall. Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

While the angled entrance from the street through the front gate may pose a slight challenge for larger rigs or trailers, there is ample room to tandem park a towed vehicle in front of your RV. A 30-amp electric hookup is conveniently located on the side of the house, with water access available from the rear. While sewer hookups are not available, we are happy to discuss nearby options for dumping gray and black tanks. During your stay, we'll be residing in the house but will respect your privacy while remaining available to assist with anything you might need. There’s even a "catio" in the backyard, where you might catch a glimpse of our shy and elusive cats! We’re pet-friendly and welcome your furry companions but kindly ask that you clean up after them. Our goals are to establish a thriving community, grow most of our own food, build tiny houses to rent or sell, create sustainability and be as self sufficient as possible, salvage material for builds, host events and retreats, teach classes, and more. Please feel free to ask questions and share any interest you may have in what we are doing here. Our property is a densely forested 85 acres with a walk-able 2 miles around the perimeter of the property and many trails and hidden nooks to explore throughout the heart of this beautiful escape back to our natural roots. We are in the process of mapping out the trails- which we plan to make available soon! For now those of you with a sense of adventure and desire to explore will certainly be satisfied. We have a full acre size pond and a kayak that you can feel free to use. There is a communal area around the pond that we will be adding to in the near future- you may run into some of our community members or other campers there from time to time, we invite you to socialize, bring a chair, perhaps a beverage or snack and get to know each other and us as well if we cross paths! You will observe and encounter wildlife in abundance including a variety of birds, wild hogs, opossums, armadillo, moles, spiders, scorpions, butterflies, praying mantis, walking sticks, snakes- keep an eye out for rattlesnakes and copperheads, deer, many insects, and more. Please be cautious and treat these creatures' home with respect for them as well as yourselves. Our property is also home to some lovely cows, chickens, a few dogs, and several cats- they (other than the cows who do what they please) generally remain in areas away from our camp sites though they may still decide to stop by to say hello! We have many spaces available for camping throughout the property. These are primitive campsites on raw land so you will need to provide your own tent, water, food, and operate with a leave no trace mentality when camping here. There are areas that can accommodate large groups of campers as well as very secluded nooks if you are looking for a private retreat into nature. There is plenty of fallen wood available for firewood and a fire pit will be prepared for you before arrival!

The camp area is 9 secluded, fenced and wooded acres laced with all-dirt flat biking and walking trails on our property. We encourage you to bring your bicycles along. The bird watching is great!

Either way, you'll see a variety of birds while you relax on or beside the cool waters of the Colorado River. We're kid and dog friendly (leashes mandatory) and we love musicians.
